    Dress at the reception

Thank you Ashley for transforming my dress and veil. Beautifully executed and what a pleasant process. I contacted Ashley about my wedding dress alterations, after she was highly recommended from a unique wedding dress shop. It was a big commitment because I live 1.5hrs away. I visit family on occasion in Salinas, so I thought why not visit and see. From first walking up to the shop, I was impressed how curated it was, a very spacious loft in downtown. Ashley was kind from the beginning, clear on listing the adjustments with price estimates which all sounded reasonable considering my dress was five layers (each layer needing to be included in the cuts) to be sized down. Ashley was very accommodating on scheduling appointments, including weekends. Since aspects of wedding planning can be stressful, I I knew I wanted to commit where I felt an ease in communication, someone with a great eye, skills, and patient. Ashley was that and more every appointment. My mom came with me, and it became an enjoyable experience, going to the alteration appointment, then having a meal downtown. Ashley truly enjoys and takes pride in her work, which makes the whole process an ease. Alterations done: Sizing down (I believe almost a size and a half) Hem Reconfiguration of floating lace on illusion top mesh shoulders and back New buttons (due to a couple buttons missing, Ashley replaced all for consistency) Dress lace trimmings added to veil Tips for future brides / customers: Trust Ashley! - I went in one very hot day for the second to last appointment. Though I had emphasized in previous appointments wanting it very fitted, it felt too tight that day. I requested loosening it. Then I found the day of, that my dress could've been more fitted the day of my wedding. I realized that's why often the recommendation is to pick it up 1-2 weeks beforehand. I picked it up I think 2-3 weeks beforehand because I just wanted to have it. I ended up loosing weight. Bride tip: think about dancing in the dress Luckily I did think about that the day before the wedding and realized the bustled dress would still get in the way. So I brought extra safety pins the day of, and it saved the night in just pinning up my dress even more before the dance to feel free with movement. We had an outdoor wedding, so with the walking around and accidental steps on the dress, it's easy for the bustled parts to get undone (safety pins helped). I'm sure if I had shared any of this information before the wedding, Ashley would've came up with refined solutions! Ashley was a joy to work with and I hope to be back for other tailored pieces!

Tailoring and pricing was a 5/5, but deserves a 1/5 star for unprofessionalism and customer service.

I wanted to give her a better review because the tailoring was perfect and was done for a reasonable price! But unfortunately, I am giving Ashley a 1/5 star for her professionalism and customer service. I had four alteration appointments between May and July. My first appointment was booked a month in advice and was a group appointment with my mother, sister, and maid of honor. When I got to my first appointment, she was able to help me with my dress no problem, but when it was time for the others to get their dress fitted, another party walked in to get their clothing fixed. Ashley told my mom and bridesmaids to come back in 20 minutes to fit their dresses because she was trying to help the other party. We were caught off guard because we reserved this group fitting a month in advance, but she decided to help the walk-ins instead. When I arrived at my second dress appointment, I walked in on her still sewing and working on my dress. I had to wait about 10 minutes before I could try it on. Also, my mother and sister came with me to try on their dresses, and Ashley said she did not have enough time to do their dresses. We were upset because my family drove from PG to Salinas to pick up their dresses, only to find out that Ashley did not work on it at all. It was a big inconvenience, and she could have communicated that with us before they came! My mother and sister ended up going back a different day to pick up their dresses. However, an hour before their appointment, she called my mom to ask if they could come in 30 minutes later. We assumed this was because she was still working on the dresses. When they got to the appointment, Ashley was still working on their dresses, and they had to wait another 15 minutes. Again, very unprofessional behavior. Ashley also said her steamer broke, and she could not steam the dresses, so my mom and sister left the dress there so that she could steam it and have it ready for the next appointment. So, after all of that, they still did not go home with their dresses. For my third dress appointment, I brought my maid of honor. An hour before the appointment, she called us to see if we could come in 30 minutes later. When we arrived at the studio, she was still working on my dress. I waited about five minutes until she was ready. While I was trying on my dress, she worked on my maid of honor's dress. By this time, she had over a month to tailor my maid of honor's dress. The most unprofessional part about this was that there were purple marker marks on my maid of honor's dress. I know it's disappearing pen ink used for sewing, but you should not give this dress as a final product to a client. By my fourth appointment, I just wanted my dress to be done. I arrived at my appointment to pick up my dress and also my mom/sister's dresses. When I came, she was still working on my dress and she did not steam my mom/sister's dresses. At that point I was annoyed and stressed. Luckily, I had my dress in time for the wedding. But I will never go to this place again! This was one of the worst experiences to have as a bride. I would rather go somewhere else and pay double what I paid for better customer service.

The dress was picked and rather than drive all the way to San Jose, I came here. The owner was nice enough, but always in a hurry to get rid of you. Each time I've come here, I never know what door to enter... upstairs? downstairs? Pick a door and stick with it. The store is clean enough and I was able to get in and out quickly. The last bridesmaids dress I got there a few months ago, when it came in I knew it would probably need alterations. Unfortunately for me, she declared it a perfect fit, in a big hurry and the dress was so tight I was miserable all night and had a blister in one side where the boning in the dress dug into me. So annoying. I hope I don't have to get another dress here... I think next time I might just drive to San Jose. Not worth the price.

We brought in a brand new cathedral veil with rhinestones to be steamed…read more Upon pickup we notice there is a tear in it. I looked at their steamer and I could tell what had happened, It was extremely obvious that one of the rhinestones got caught which caused the rip in the fabric. Hey accidents happen, just let the customer know and tell them you'll fix it, right? Well that was not the case here. Employees were insistent that I had brought my veil in with the rip and they were not liable for it. We were basically blamed for the ripped veil & charged us an alteration fee for a mistake that was caused in THEIR store. Their solution was "we can pull up the cameras" and we have "witnesses ". They even turned the tables and said they never check items that customers bring in because they trust us customer to be honest. The manager got involved and was extremely rude and eventually slapped the desk in front of my face and told one of the associates to take the charge off our invoice and walked away with not even an apology. Employees were rude as well and gave plenty of attitude. Let's be logical, if a bride is going to get married in 3 days and brings in her veil to be steamed and she did have a rip in her veil, she would have addressed it in the first place. This was never addressed bc there never was a rip... we only needed our veil to be steamed. Be warned, your wedding day is important and if you come here for a solution, you will be walking out with a HUGE problem that never existed in the first place.
