He has altered my pants at hips and hem length. He's shortened dress hems and cuffs on blouses and jackets also. He's always professional and charges fair prices. I've been going to his place for several years now. You must pay cash for his services. That is not a problem because he tells you the cost of alterations after you try them for him to pin up. It usually takes a week for the alterations. I'm sure if you need it sooner, he can complete the work in less than a week. read more

I went here twice to get several pairs of jeans repaired. The first time, the service was rude, but I decided to give it another try since I needed the work done. I've been going to Yun's for many years now and have been satisfied with the quality of his work. His prices have always been on the high end but I was happy with his work so I was willing to pay the extra premium. Since COVID however, his prices have skyrocketed! I went in today for a zipper repair on a skirt. The zipper is a shorter length than most zippers and he wanted to charge me $30 for the repair! I said, "The skirt isn't even worth that much!" He then said, "0k. $20. I walked out and will not be returning to this establishment. I know you have to earn money but come on, do you have to rob your customers blind!? read more

Since returning to the States in 2012, we have used Yun's services once or twice every year. Whether my wife's pants or my shirts, Mr Yun has always done a professional job at a reasonable price. I do not understand the negative reviews. Not being fluent in English may be a killer for a standup comedian; it does not detract from Mr Yun's great skills! Whatever you do stay away from this alteration shop. It has been in Salinas now for quite some time so I thought they must be doing something right to have stayed in business this long. Boy was I wrong! The first problem I encountered at this shop was when I went to pick up my sons pants. To say they did a "mickey mouse job" is giving them way more credit than they deserve. First the pants were still too long for my son, then the stitching on the pants was not even professionally done and it looked horrible. The day he wore the pants the stitching came out by the second hour. Now I am not one to jump to conclusions.. I have always gave second and even third chances so silly me I went back to this place. I showed the owner where the pants came apart and asked that he please fix them. He then told me that it had been over a month which was way to long to take them back - it had only been a week. Then I had to wait for him to look up the transaction in his receipt book. Then he said he would fix them "this time". He did fix the pants quickly and I went on my way but the way this owner deals with his customers and the work he does is not worth the headache. read more

I've been going to Yun's for over 20 years. Old school, to-the-point service. Takes cash or check only. Yun always asks when you'll need your item back, instead of telling you when he'll have it ready for you. He's always had my garments ready by the day I need them. You'll get in and out in no time. Also, he's an honest business man, which is rare. Most people in business will try and tell you they can fix anything you bring in when in actuality they can't. Not Yun; he'll tell you straight up he can't do it. You might not like the reason, or he might not even give you one, but it's better than him taking your money and providing subpar service. Yun is consistent, and constantly provides high-quality work; there's a reason he's been in the same building doing business this long. Great pricing; he could probably charge more. read more

No ticky no laundry ! Poor lady there is kind of distracted . Make sure you have your ticket when you pick up especially if you pre pay because the lady can't Remember if you paid or not plus she wouldn't give me my shirt unless I paid another $3.00 . Been over a week and still isn't through putting a new zipper on my pants . Dry cleaner near raleys charges a fortune for any repairs so at least this place still exists. read more

I have seen the negative comments about Yun's Alterations. When I walked into his shop, I was immediately waited on. Granted, his English and sense of humor is not the best, but Mr. Yun addressed my needs, told me the price, which was reasonable and told me when it would be ready. When I returned to pick up my clothing, I inspected it and found it to be completed and it looked like a professional job. He even dug through the trash to retrieve my receipt that I wanted back. He was nothing but professional and delivered my clothes as promised. read more

The owner is a jerk. He speaks no english so communication is nearly impossible. He then has the audacity to treat you like you are a stupid idiot for not understanding his pointing and grunting. Been going to him for over 15 years. My opinion is that something has changed and it is Mr. Yun. He recently has been rude and verbally abusive. His shop appeared devoid of work. Went back after rudeness thinking maybe he just had bad day. Didn't want to do simple alteration. Measured, mumbled something said couldn't do it. I told him I did not understand. Measured, mumbled something again and said no. I won't go back to such a volatile and unpredictable person. read more

I've been going to Yun's for more than 5 years. I can see how other reviewers find him rude or difficult to communicate with, but I've never experienced that myself. He may not be warm and fuzzy with his customer service, but he's always been polite to me and I like his task-oriented "just get it done" style. I usually go to him for hemming work pants and dresses, and taking in the waist of pants and jeans. But he's also replaced zippers on a jacket for me, repaired split seams, fixed shirring that came unstitched, etc. I'm not sure I'd bring a complicated alterations job to him, like re-cutting a man's suit, but he has done a wonderful job for me over the years, plus he is very fast--if I need something in a day or two he can do it, but I usually come back the next week and all my alterations are done. One time, pants he took in at the waist did come apart, and he fixed it for me quite willingly. I've also gone to Julian's and Lee's, and actually prefer Yun's. read more

Although I was a little hesitant to go to this shop because of some of these reviews, I gave it a chance because one of my family members has gone in and had no problem with their alterations. I went last Monday to get 2 pairs of jeans shortened. I walked in and the owner greeted me and asked what I needed. Told him I needed 2 pairs of jeans shortened, and he told me to try them on, so I did. He was fairly quick in helping me. I guess I could see how some people thing he is rude, but sometimes because of the language barrier, things come off different than they really are! Anyway, he asked when I needed them by, and I said Friday. So he said I could go pick them up on Friday by 4 o clock. Went in on Friday after work, my pants were good to go! Very clean work! I'll definitely be taking my other jeans in to him. It was reasonably priced, $20 for 2 pairs of jeans. read more

Yun is good at what he does. Had a leather jacket altered here and he did a perfect, unnoticable job.
