You ever get a couple drinks in you on the San Antonio River Walk and start making decisions that…read moresound real good at the time? Yeah... that's how I ended up on the Yellow Rose Carriage Company. Now I'll say this San Antonio surprised me. Clean, inviting, and every kind of food you can think of just sittin' there temptin' you steaks, tacos, Italian... like the city's saying, "Go ahead, ruin your diet, we ain't judging." It's got a charm to it. After a couple drinks, I'm thinking, "This is like Central Park... if it had better food and a little more Texas attitude." So naturally... I said, "Giddy up." We climb into this carriage, and I don't remember the horse's name, so let's call him Mr. Ed. Now Mr. Ed? He wasn't taking suggestions. That horse had a personal agenda. The driver nice guy looked like he was in a long-term negotiation with an animal that had already made up its mind. At one point, somebody honks... and Mr. Ed just lifts his tail and fires off a warning shot like, "That's what I think about your traffic laws." They got a bucket for that... allegedly. Didn't catch everything. I laughed so hard I nearly fell outta the carriage. But here's the twist once you get past the fact your Uber has a digestive system... it's actually kind of perfect. The lights come on, the city softens up, and you're rolling through San Antonio like you accidentally wandered into a movie. It's romantic, it's calm, it's got that slow, easy rhythm where nobody's in a hurry and everything just feels right. Then because alcohol makes athletes out of all of us another couple pulls up beside us in their carriage. Next thing you know, we've got ourselves a good old-fashioned horse race. Friendly... mostly. A little cash gets slipped to the driver, someone mentions YouTube glory, and suddenly Mr. Ed's out here competing like he's got a sponsorship deal. We're laughing, they're laughing, horses are doing whatever horses do... and for a minute, it's not about getting anywhere it's just about being right there in it. And that's the thing. You'll look at the price and think, "Is this worth it?" And later, you'll look back and go, "Yeah... I'd do that again." Because sometimes the best memories come with a little chaos... ...and a horse that absolutely does not care about your plans.

Look at the horse Look how he whines for you…read moreAnd the cruel things you do And the carriages are all Yellowwww Then I came along I wore a thong for you Despite the cruel things you do On the carriage that's yellowwwwwww These are beautiful horses and spectacular neon lit carriages going around downtown San Antonio, and adding a lot to the charm of the city - but unfortunately we really don't believe in dressing up horses in strange costumes and putting neon lights all over a heavy Carriage that they have to pull around so we can't possibly give them a high rating because of the animal cruelty aspect but I'll tell you what they are visually spectacular and that's why they don't get one star and other than that my run on sentences are longer than my oh wait that's not accurate.

This is where I found Pouring Events Bartending. The owner, Kevin, was so responsive to emails and phone calls. Kevin and his staff were willing to take on a High School graduation celebration. Our meal of sliders, fries, fried pickles and chicken tenders with sauces was an absolute success!!!! They also provided bartending services and this was a success for all the adults! At the end of the day it was most definitely worth having Kevin and his team catering and bartending. Our daughter graduates in 2 years and will definitely call Kevin and his staff again!!! Thanks Kevin for making his celebration a success!!

My daughter requested a fully vegan menu with a gluten free option and Kevin was so helpful & thoughtful in planning our menu! The vegan lasagna was delicious (even the non vegans agreed) as was the fettuccine Alfredo, garlic bread, bruschetta, and Caesar salad. The Gluten free fettuccine was a hit for the "gluten free girlies", and the vegan, gluten free cheesecake bites were the bomb! I highly recommend hiring Kevin & his crew! They are the best! (I will update the review with photos when our photographer gets them back to us)

My daughter is…read moreengaged so she was so excited to see what the event offered and gave her ideas for their wedding day. So many vendors that offered catering, event planners, florist designers, bridal gowns, sooo much more. The fashion show seemed like every 60 minutes that presented bridal fashions for the day with flower girl, bridesmaids and grooms attire. We found a bridal consultant for her dress and very pleased with affordable prices. Looking for wedding information Yelp is a great place to come review the reviews on services. This event is held every year. I took lots of pictures so enjoy!

I just went to the January Extravaganza, and was happy that I read through all of these reviews for…read moresome tips. One thing that I did forget was a backpack, we got so much literature and other misc items, it was weighing us down. If you can convince your honey to come with you as well, that makes it a better experience in my book. I saw a lot of ladies alone there without their guys/significant others and I think that it helps to have the other half's opinion on everything you see to set a better direction. You will be very sick of cake and BBQ by the end of it, we got there at about 1ish and made him stay til the very end where they draw the prizes, that is the whole point in going as well....you could win up to $1,000 as the grand prize. My name scrolled by and they picked the person two names after for that, such a tease! But many women leave before this, so the chances are much better than winning the lotto that you will win these door prizes. I took a notebook with me as well to take notes, and took pictures as I could...some vendors say you can't take pictures. It was very helpful to talk with all of the wedding invitation vendors, if you are planning on doing your own invitations like I am...you get a few good ideas. Sign up for all of the drawings, I won a 50% discount on a photobooth for our wedding! So very happy days on that. The bridal bucks that they give you ($500 worth) can be used at select vendors, but they usually extend the deal to the next few weeks...so don't feel pressured to go with them the day off. We shopped around quite a bit for wedding photographers before deciding on one that we met at the show, it was nice to meet everyone and feel out their personality then and there. We were able to more effectively narrow down who we liked to schedule private meetings with them to go over the details better. The same applies for the caterers and bakeries. You will have to follow up with them though since so many people come through for the event, you have to be proactive. There are always deals to go here, I got in for free being the bride so it was basically a 2 for 1 deal. Don't ever pay full price for the ticket. I also encourage you not to give your name and number to the sponsors of the show because you will probably get spammed, I opted not too so the mailings have not been that terrible yet. Have a plan, we started on one side and made our way to the other side going up and down the rows...it will be very overwhelming and a mental drain on you but it is so very helpful in the wedding planning process to go to one of these shows. I do believe the January show is always the bigger show so just something to keep in mind if your planning schedule allows.
