This is not a thrift shop! And that's a good thing! Coming in here, you're not going to find that tacky looking item that will be perfect for your Halloween costume. You will find designer brands, great quality clothes, and amazing deals. The clothes and accessories here are pretty upscale and somewhat preppy. Some things in here, even discounted, I wouldn't be willing to pay for, not because it wouldn't have been a great deal but because I don't really believe in spending huge amounts of money for a label. However, I am about finding pieces to invest in especially at a good cost! The first time I ventured here with my roommates, they both ended up with some great pieces and dresses for work attire, while I didn't find anything that caught both my eye and my wallet. But the second time. Oh man, I'm still excited and it was two weeks ago! I found brown leather boots, real ones in perfect, yet already broken in condition for $75. Now that seems expensive for a consignment shop but I know how expensive leather boots can be and I knew this was a steal. I didn't know how much of one until later on when I looked up the designer, Cole Haan who doesn't sell a boot for under $350!!! I can't wait until it's chilly enough to wear my boots! Nice little consignment shop. I had this on my list to check out and I'm happy I finally visited the shop. I was greeted immediately with a warm welcome. The shop has a variety of items preloved from contemporary to high end designer. I took my time to browse the clothes, shoes, bags, scarves and belts. As I picked out items, a friendly lady offered to take some items to a dressing room for me. That was helpful because it allowed me to free up my hands and arms to continue to sift through the items. I scored a couple pieces that I found. I was told they get new pieces daily. I look forward to going back as a regular customer. read more

ReDeux is a high end luxury resale boutique with excellent selections and great prices. The owners, Jan and Linda, and their team are absolutely wonderful and personable. The service is impeccable. They are always willing to accommodate their customers anyway they can. If it's helping you to put your selections in a dressing room while you are still shopping or helping you to locate whatever you are shopping for, they are always there for their customers. I have been in this shop a few times and have never been impressed with the owners. They have a "type" that they are interested in hobnobbing with and selling to. Customer service is everything. A hello when you walk in the door is the least they could do and we never received that. Even when making a purchase, we tried to stir up conversation and they were quite uninterested. I guess they are not that worried about gaining new customers. We left their shop and spent almost $2000 in a few other shops. Stay clear. I was originally not going to write this review but upon seeing some of the other reviews about the staff it urged me to write about my terrible experience at ReDeux. My friends and I randomly stumbled upon ReDeux while on a walk along the trail it sits beside. ReDeux had caught our attention because it is a higher end consignment shop. Immediately upon entering the staff kept on staring us down and giving us judgmental looks which made browsing very uncomfortable. As we were looking at the clothes one of the employees came over to my friends and I and asked if we needed any help to which we responded no she proceeded to then ask me and the other guy in the group to leave because women are uncomfortable when they see other men when they come out of the dressing room. I completely understand and respect that but when you come out of the dressing room you are always fully clothed and I have never once been asked to leave a store for this reason. I also just wanted to say we are both obviously gay men there was also nobody else in the store. My girl friends immediately stopped looking at clothes and left after this employee had said this. The employees need to work on how they word things and their attitudes. It's honestly sad that we are significantly younger than all of them and know how to treat people properly. Every person that works in this store is a karen. If the employees attitude does not change I don't see this store going anywhere. read more

Wish I could leave no stars at all. My mom and I walked in the other day and two ladies were helping one Asian woman at the counter. They were sooooo busy with her that neither of them chose to acknowledge me or my mom even after we walked past them several times. I saw another lady that was outside at first and then she came in. I asked if this was her first time in the store today and she said no and that she was a regular. I told her my reception wasn't welcoming and that no one spoke. Once one of the ladies who work there came close the customer I was talking to she told the sales associate that I was new and that it was my first time in. She scanned my outfit, gave me a fake greeting and ignored us again. She also said that the customer could tell me everything I needed to know. Really? She doesn't work here, you do. It's not her job to make me feel welcomed. These people are so ridiculous and fake. They were so busy with the previous customer being nosey about her life and finances that they had no time for me and my mom. I WOULD NEVER PATRONIZE THEM AND I WILL POST THIS EVERYWHERE! Kindness doesn't cost nothing but when it's not in your heart it will always be a challenge. Ladies get your hearts right. It's just stuff y'all are selling stop acting like your better than someone over mere fashion. read more

This resale boutique is awesome. first and foremost, the owner and assistants are personable, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. The wide selection of merchandise is upscale and stylish. The women who run this store are incredibly rude, condescending, unprofessional and unwelcoming. In the span of the 10 minutes while I was shopping, they made at least 3 or four extremely offensive and passive aggressive remarks. I have come in a few times when traveling from out of state and it's the same every time. If you do not fit their profile, regardless of how much you spend, they are not welcoming and seem to be deliberately unkind. I can not recommend this store. I do not understand how business women can act like immature middle schoolers and expect to gain new customers. Maybe they don't need new ones, though. read more

I've been really into consigning lately, on both the buying and selling end, and Re Deux has been helpful on both fronts multiple times. For those looking to consign: the ladies who work here have always been incredibly friendly to me, but keep in mind that this is in the heart of Roland Park. Most of the clothes in there are from the closets of women who wear Lily Pulitzer/ Vineyard Vines daily, so it is incredibly preppy. That being said, there are also a lot of nice items from high end designers (i.e. bags, shoes, jewelry)-- and it's not exclusively preppy clothes. It says in their website that consigning is by appointment only, but the few times I've consigned they've told me I could come right in that day. Like other consignment shops, they do have seasons (meaning they don't want your sundresses and sandals in mid-October). When they sell your items, you get 50% of the profit, which is a nice little addition to your bank account rather than donating some of your (old) favorites. For those looking to shop: like every consignment shop, it's really hit or miss. I've left empty-handed on occasion, but I've also found some really beautiful dresses for a fraction of the cost that their original owner paid for them. The items are all clean, many still with the original tags on them and there is a great selection of sizes. It is one of the preppier consignment shops that I've come across, but I would still recommend shoppers who aren't looking for boat shoes and pastel colors to give it a try. You never know what you'll find-- I get compliments on my Re Deux clothes every time I wear them. I can't help but think... If only they knew I bought this dress for less than $30! read more

I didn't love my experience at ReDeux. I am a bit biased because, as one commenter said, the clothes are very preppy and not my style at all. A lot of the items in here are the same - nothing different or funky to try out. They were a bit on the expensive side for a consignment shop. I only went once, but the sales people didn't pay any attention to me. Not the end of the world, but didn't add much to the experience. It's true that there is not a lot of crap to sort through, but there was nothing there that I liked so I won't be going back. read more

ReDeux is one of the best HIGH-END consignment shops around. If you are looking for cheap, inexpensive clothes, this is not the place for you. This is a store where you can purchase designer clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories at a reasonable and acceptable price. Jan and Linda are truly amazing and if you ever need help finding something or not sure of your style, Linda is a professional when it comes to matching! She's practically your personal stylist when you're there - just ask for some help! It's clean, organized, and is getting new inventory every day. So, I've visited the store on several occasions and have this to say. The staff appear to be friendly but are not that friendly towards their customers of color. One of the staff members even had the audacity to barge into the dressing room while I was undressing. Another time I was charged 9% sales tax. I feel it is a bit shady to remove the tags from the garments and then provide your customers with just a register receipt and not one that provides details of the items they've purchased. In my opinion, you ladies need to get it together before I start making some noise to the general public. I will not recommend your business to anyone. Since there hasn't been a recent review, thought I'd let yelpers know that nothing has changed here. They're still rude and noticeably silent to customers who come into their shop. I'd ask how to get on the "acceptable list" except I could care less. Also, they sell fake handbags. I saw a faux Céline and Tory Burch. Really?! Be very careful what you buy here. If you bring it home to see if it matches your items and it doesn't you're out of luck. There is a no return policy. I'm stuck with several items now that don't work and can't exchange items that I purchased two days ago. I couldn't possibly have worn the items in that limited time but the owner would not consider a refund or store credit. I would have bought a couple of things since I was there already and 2 items were ok- overpriced but ok and they fit. But not according the owners. I was told on several occasions that the items were for tiny people! They were so rude and it was as if they did not want me there. I ignored the unfriendly even rude attitude but in the end I could not buy anything as I was repeatedly told I was too heavy and that the fit was wrong for me. I am between a size 4 and 6. I think I should be the one to decide what fits me. I will never return. read more

If you plan to take any clothing items to this shop, make sure to ask them lots of questions about what exactly they are looking for or otherwise you may find yourself facing sneers and total disdain of your items. I have bought many items at this store and felt that some of the things I was bringing in were similar to what I've seen there. But I was dismissed with a curt "Sorry" this is not what we sell here without even looking closely at any of the things I brought. A very humiliating experience to say the least. Like one of the other reviewers, no one there has ever paid me much attention when I come in to browse and that's ok, but the supercilious attitude I encountered recently has convinced me never to go there again.
