Everyone at Redlands Door were very professional and did a great job on our replacement of three closet doors. The price was good and our installer Tim was very careful to do a great job. We wanted solid wood doors that are hung from the top instead of the typical bottom track. Redlands Door was able to find the hardware to accomplish this. They ordered the doors and had them painted to match our current color. Two bedrooms had double mirrored doors and the master had three plain doors. All are non-standard sizes, which made buying them from a Home Depot or Lowes impossible. As mentioned, Tim was very through and made sure everything was installed correctly. He found that there was some additional siding that needed to be added to be sure the doors closed with no gap. It was extra challenging as besides being non-standard, the wall are slightly off square. He also did a great job in cleaning up the area when done. Called for an estimate on two bedroom mirrored closet doors. Michael came out the following day for the estimate. I asked a few questions. How long will it take to get the doors. He said at least 8 weeks. I asked how much of a deposit is required, He responded saying 50%. His answers were not consistent with other companies. I called the following day to get the bid and spoke to Megan. She stated it takes them 1 week to provide a bid. So I called back the following week to see if the bid was ready. He ran into problems with the door supplier changing glass types. He said he was going to get back with us after checking around. He did not get back with us and I had to follow-up with him. This company is so disrespectful. Phil Baldridge initially came out as I needed an inner door replaced that is solid core. I asked about painting the door and he said it was $180 more so I opted not to and get my door painted myself. After thinking it through I decided that I would like to have them paint the door. After speaking to Linda who man's the phone and letting her know I wanted my door painted, she said on top of painting the door it would be an addition $230.00 trip charge. Can you imagine? Today I called to speak with Phil to see if he would honor the extra $180 to paint my door. He denied ever giving me a price to paint my door then pivoted saying, "I don't think we're a good fit", and for me to find another company to work with. Give them another chance, wait two more weeks. Never showed up and never called until the installation morning. I finally had to cancel the door order. Your project will be delayed if you work with them. 2. ACCOUNTING ERROR! BUYER BEWARE. They charge 7.75% sales tax on LABOR. If you don't check your receipt, they will charge you but it will not be reported to the state of California. That means they STEAL your money. DOUBLE CHECK your receipt. I can not give a review on the company's products or installation as no one ever followed through on their end when I was inquiring online about a possible new double door entry that my wife and I were looking for. On February 24th I inquired online about getting a quote for an entry door. I was emailed back in a reasonable amount of time and then on the 25th I sent some pictures of what I had currently installed so they would have an idea of the job and from there it has been crickets. No follow up on their end by phone or email, I should not have to hunt anyone down if they want my business. If you need a replacement interior door, this is the place to do it. Who knew that replacing an interior door would be so difficult? If you can remove the old door yourself and can drive it to the shop, these guys made it easy and I am confident I will be saving money as well. Before my tenant moved out, he had damaged his bedroom door. As a landlord and homeowner for over 25 years, I've never had to replace a door. Having used Home Depot for carpeting, I went and talked to an associate at the store but found out I would need to pay $50 for someone to come measure the door, place the order and then potentially another $150 to $200 or so for that contractor to install/fit the door at my home. There's labor involved here but I'm relatively handy and wanted a cheaper option. Luckily, Home Depot was slow in responding to my project inquiry online so I explored other options. I did a search on Google and found Redlands Door and Supplies, which was like 2 miles away from my house. I tried calling in the late afternoon and no one picked up. I left a message and then also found their website and filled out the service inquiry form. The next morning, Brian called me and explained my options. He said that the best option was for me to remove the door and bring it in for them to take measurements and place an order. The next day, I was able to come around lunch time the following day and Mike came out, brought the door inside and started taking measurements. He explained the process and that they would place an order for the door and once it came it in, they would customize the new door and make it identical to my old door since they have a workshop in the back. They would put on the hinges from the old door and all that I would need to do is to take the new door home and put it back on its hinges (and then paint to match). Hopefully it's that simple. I'm currently waiting for the door to come in the next 10 days. I will continue to use Home Depot but for this door project, Redlands Door and Supplies was the right choice. No contractor ($$$) was needed to measure or install/fit the door and they have everything in their shop to make sure the new door will be an exact match. All I needed to pay for is the cost of the door plus a small shop fee for them to prep the door. Totally fair. Mike didn't waste time and had me out in less than 30 minutes. Brian and Mike were super easy to work with and very knowledgeable. They also have windows and crown moulding but I didn't get any upsell. But I might be back should I need to make some upgrades. Our first door purchase and installation was definitely five star service even with it being post Covid with material delays, which made us decide to purchase a second door from Redlands doors as well as get additional quotes for future door upgrades, but this second door purchase has been very disappointing the door was measured purchased and installed and then it was identified that the screen was made to short and new screen needed to be reordered, after several calls and weeks later I was told all communication now needed to be with Milgard, Milgard came out and weeks later and screen still didn't fit had to wait an additional six weeks delivered screen and screen still is not properly fitting, my husband tried contacting Redlands doors they were going to follow up but still no response. We fill this is something that should have been followed up and resolved by Redlands doors not left to the customer, thousand of dollars and multiple delays and bad measurements. We were looking for around a year to replace our 30 year old double front doors . We later found out due to our size they would have to be custom made Mike came over to our house and gave us many options and he knew we wanted to keep the price down to a reasonable amount He came up with a great idea of a having one large door (42 inches ) with glass insert and a side glass window. They even measured twice to make sure the custom door would fit correctly. We had it painted white in front and the inside was painted gray. He also recommended appropriate door handles and the installer Ron did an amazing job. They did not rush the install and took the time needed to make sure everything was perfect . If you're home is in the mountain areas or needs new replacement windows (vs. "retrofit") pass on Redlands D&S. They wasted a lot of my time. I own a standard 1980s home in Lake Arrowhead. I arranged an appointment for both a retrofit and replacement window quote 5 weeks away. 6 windows & 3 sliding glass/french doors. I told them I would not be there but they could access all windows from exterior. I had already received a quote from Crestline Glass without being onsite, who provided a timely quote. When the time came to re-confirm the appointment Redlands D&S now told me I needed to be there. So I had to take more delay and reschedule the appointment two weeks later. I made a special trip to meet with Redlands D&S. They take measurements for both retrofit and new replacement windows. Then a couple days later they tell me via email they "will have to pass on this job" and are a "retrofit company and not set up to do new construction". Huh? Not what it states on their website and not what they indicated when taking measurements! And if so, why didn't they tell me this 7 weeks ago? Still, I asked them to just quote retrofit. Sadly, I received no response. End result, a lot of wasted time & effort. Almost two months waiting on these guys when I could have moved forward with my other quote. I understand the delay due to Covid19, but it says on their website "Redlands Door and Supply has been providing new and replacement windows for decades". Nothing too complicated about my project. Standard home with windows. It appears with recent high demand for stay at home improvements they are picking and choosing the easy projects. I'm sure if they reply to this review they'll come up with some excuse and apologize but that doesn't help replace my lost time & effort. I'd rather spend time with my kids then be part of this company's "highest margin" bidder game, or having to create this review to hopefully help others. Avoid this company!!!
