Walking into Redlands Family Dentistry was such a welcoming experience yesterday, 10-22-2025. The staff was so inviting, and sitting in the waiting area was like a home living room. I had teeth whitening treatment done, and the experience was so seamless. I had slight trepidation to begin with because I hadn't had professional teeth whitening treatment done in several years. Dr. Tres Hoffer spent Almost an hour and half going over my mouth. Not only did the amazing assistant take a complete and precise FMX it was pain free. Dr Hoffer took intra and extra oral photos from so many angles, which contributed to him addressing my bite issue without me even mentioning my concerns. Dr. Nadir saved me at last minute appointment for a root canal. I was in so much agony pain arriving. He took me immediately and numbed my pain. The procedure went smoothly and I felt no pain and it all relieved my fear. I was worried to lose my tooth, but the procedure he did enabled me to keep my tooth and discard the nerve. Really rude receptionist. I called to make an appointment because I had pain in ny gums and my usual dentist was booked for a month so when the day came of my appointment I called head to let them know I couldn't go. I had a family emergency and the receptionist was so rude I told her I could be there a little later or reschedule but because she was so rude I ended up waiting the month with my original dentist. I've been seeing Dr. Hoffer for over 7 years and I say without a doubt that he's the best dentist I've ever had. He's friendly and personable, easy to talk to, always efficient, and clearly skilled. From simple checkups and cleaning to fillings, caps, root canals, implants and more, Dr. Hoffer and his team provide the best. Though I moved away from Redlands a few years ago, I still make the regular trips to him and his practice because I'm very happy with the care I recieve. As a whole, Redlands Family Dentistry seems to be a modern, well-run operation staffed with friendly and caring people who know what they're doing. I'm always pleased with how easy it is to schedule appointments and how efficiently billing and insurance matters are handled. Procedures and costs are always explained beforehand and I always get to have the final say. My dental hygienist, Heidi, is very proficient, and she even helped my daughter to become a hygienist by providing advice, observational experience, and tools needed to take her State Boards. The final thing about Dr Hoffer and Redlands Family Dentistry I want to mention is that he always seems to be up on latest advances in dentistry and invests in the latest dental technology. Despite its outward appearance (which is in a converted historical house with a quaint old-timey feel) the practice is all about advanced tech: digital HD X-ray, computer aided design and milling of replacement teeth, micro cameras and digital imaging, and even a Star Trek-like "Beam me up, Scotty" stand-up chamber for CT scans! The place is the most advanced "general dentistry" practice I've ever been to, and when I describe it to friends, they get jealous! Fifteen years ago, I had a dentist induced root canal by Dr. Hoffer. The entire situation was botched from the dental work to the scheduling. It left me scarred and subsequently horrified of dentist ever since. I had minimal dental work prior. Flash forward to today and I'm still dealing with this one tooth that Dr. Hoffer destroyed and most likely it will have to be removed. If a medical doctor were to make an error that resulted in the loss of a body part, he would be held accountable. Dentists have no such checks and balances. Beware of shoddy dental work from this office. Fifteen years later and I'm still dealing with it. Update: just returned from my new dentist and apparently, Dr. Hoffer left a file in my tooth during the root canal. He never informed me. The tooth is not able to have retreatment due to the file which has been causing recurrent infections. This Saturday, the tooth will have to be extracted and I'll be prepped for an implant. Thanks for the awful dental service!! Never again. Do not go to Dr. Hoffer! read more

Amazing!!! Dr. Hoffer is the best dentist. He tries to do the least invasive approach (which is a hard thing to find these days). Two other dentist told me I needed a root canal. He squeezed me in to take a look, said let's try a cavity fill first. He did my cavity today, no root canal. Was fast, told me what he was doing the whole time, made sure I was comfortable and took the time to listen to me. By far the best dentist I have had since I was a small kid. Someone removed my review, shouldn't be allowed to do that. People need to see ALL reviews.I had been going to this dentist's office for almost 20 years. I deal with major medical issues which involves severe debilitating chronic pain.I had been seeing Dr Stilson who no longer works there. She was wonderful. I never know how I am going to feel from one moment to the next, literally. I had not gone for a few years due to such a struggle with pain, but tried to re-connect. I made two appointments  and was assigned to the new dentist, but due to severe pain I was unable to keep either appointment. On the second cancellation I was told that Dr. Kim will not be able to see me. I was dumbfounded. I asked why and they said because I had already missed two appointments. I understood that I did cancel two appointments but I did remind them of my severe medical/pain issues with difficulty getting out of bed, walking, driving, and asked them if Dr. Kim understood that I have a daily struggle with pain. I didn't cancel to go shopping or something equally unacceptable, it was due to severe pain.  I was told, "Yes she knows, but because you cancelled she lost 1 and 1/2 hours of time".  So I understand that to mean that she lost money for that time and I am sorry about that, but it shows me that this dentist is only interested in the money not the well-being of a long time patient. I understand this is a business and they can't lose money but to disregard their patient's medical issues doesn't say much for being a "doctor" of any kind.  I would have at the very least expected a warning given first before just dropping me, but I wasn't given any warning such as " if this happens again we can't see you," they just refused to accept me any longer. It's not that easy finding a new dentist, one you are comfortable with and one who accepts your insurance. I know I had been going there for many years starting when I was employed and since my retirement 11 years ago so it was very shocking that they would turn me away after being a patient for many years for two cancelled appointments without any previous warnings and I feel it was done without  merit. It was disappointing to say the least. I think it was very cold to disregard a patient's medical and pain issues. I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to Redlands Family Dentistry. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. The exam and X rays were smooth and efficient. The entire place was spotless and beautifully decorated to give a homey feel. I don't think anyone enjoys going to the dentist but everyone there took the time to make me feel comfortable and at ease. I know they were very busy yesterday but they made me feel like I was their most important patient. I was treated at all times with respect and kindness.
