I contacted Redline and booked their shuttle service for our son's wedding. Four days before the wedding I was surprised to receive an email from James asking if I had asked the hotel to provide this shuttle service. This to me was a red flag but responded by stating "Yes, they don't provide service so that is why I booked Redline." Then on Friday (1 DAY BEFORE the wedding) James asked if he could push our pickup time back by 1 hour. I called James and asked why? I found out that he was trying to book an additional event on the same night. He seemed to become agitated when I asked why he was trying to move our reservation to accommodate a new request. He then proceeded to say, "And you know there is a 2-hour minimum for our service" This was NEVER mentioned to me via text, email or conversation. James again became agitated when I questioned why this was never stated. He said "This is common knowledge, and everyone should know this is how the industry works" James was very condescending and rude. He added additional stress the day before the wedding. How often do you find 5 star quality service at such a competitive rate? I travel for work every month so when I learned from a colleague what they were paying for an airport drop off with a private car I could not believe it. It was nearly the same rate that I was paying a prescheduled cab pickup. And then there is James, who not only owns the company but also enjoys driving himself. So here's an interesting tidbit. My father and I have posted one star reviews due to some very unprofessional and inappropriate behavior by the owner of the Redline, James, which includes threatening emails James sent my father following his negative reviews here. These reviews are now somehow hidden in the "not currently recommended" section below on this page, and not factored into the star rating. The short story, James failed to pickup my family at our house to O'Hare. He then blamed us for changing the order, hung up on us twice when we called to figure out what happened, and after admitting he may have gotten confused with another booking, he did nothing to help us as we were left with no way reasonable to catch our flight. My father posted a negative review, which got hidden. I posted a negative review which is also hidden. And the latest is that James is sending emails to my father's personal address threatening to contact my father's employer. (Presumingly trying to scare my 77-year-old father). I'd strongly recommend using another service as the level of inappropriate and unprofessional behavior is being established by the owner himself. And I ask the same question I posed before: Would you trust a man to drive you on Chicago highways at 70 mph when he can't even manage his professionalism after a deservingly negative review Yelp? For those who want details, here's the play-by-play: There were 3 communications with James to book the limo: 1) Online Order clearly stating 4pm pickup at house in Woodstock. Flight VX 1211 departure 7:05pm at O'Hare. (Note that we received no email confirmation and no phone call confirmation) 2) My mother called James, after not hearing from him and spoke to him on his cell phone and confirmed the limo booking. He said he had it all. 3) My father called the day of the flight to confirm cost. (Note, I was sitting next to my dad in the kitchen for the entire conversation). When my dad called James to figure what when wrong, James HUNG UP on us (I say us, because we were all in the car listening on the Bluetooth speakers). He hung up on us after he lied and said my dad's earlier call included a question about which lane he picks up from at O'Hare. When my dad called back James hung up a secons time, standing by his excuses and saying it was dad being rude. When James finally called back to discuss he finally said maybe there was confusion with another order. Even IF James misheard my dad about "pickup lanes." He had an online order and a phone conversation previously that clearly stated Woodstock pickup. Shouldn't he have sought clarification as to which was right? And if he is picking up from O'Hare, shouldn't he be checking the flight he is picking up from? VX 1211 says departing ORD at 7:05pm. Why is he there at 4pm? Common sense fails to apply to the excuse. read more

My posted review on Yelp has been deleted by someone as of January 2, 2018 and I am forced to post a follow-up. On January 1, 2018 I posted a 1-rating for Redline Livery, Inc due a missed point of pickup by their limo complicated by time constraint because the trip was 50+ miles from our house to O'Hare Airport. Redline choose to offer a rebuttal not on their website but thru my personal email the content of which skirts the community standards and Yelp's reviewer guidelines in regards to how a reviewer should be responded to. Redline's email to me on 1//3/17 is below in its entirety and unedited: "We wanted to clarify that it was indeed you before we share this with your peers. Your colleagues at Centegra ( my place of work) should know of your hostilities and over the top behavior. Since you feel free to share false information it is fare for us to share our side of the story. Do not contact our company again except to apologize for your behavior. You are banned from our services. Your own behavior caused your reservation to change, we offered to still assist you in getting to the airport in time for your flight, but you insisted you wanted to drive yourself instead and cancel. Your choice caused you to have to drive 2 cars when you didn't have to. Your miscommunication caused the pickup location to change. Your hostile tone caused you to miss information we where sharing with you. It's a shame you have no sense of personal responsibility at your age. We took responsibility for our actions. Let's see if after you calm down from whatever is causing this hostility passes. Because what happened should not have caused this reaction in a normal person unless you have ulterier motives. You are entitled to a fair review of company and your disappointment, however harassment, threats, and lies will not be tolerated. I'll give you the opportunity to think it over and apologize for your behavior. I admitted we misunderstood what your were asking when you called. Let's see if you can take responsibilities for your actions in causing the situation to get worse for yourself and taking your emotional baggage out on us." RedLine Livery service is wonderful. Our original flight coming into O'Hare was cancelled, then rescheduled for two days later because of the frigid weather in Chicago. James rearranged his schedule to pick us up on the new date. Our flight on the new date was two hours late. James was at the airport waiting for us. Not only was he not upset at the delay, he had cups of hot apple cider waiting for us in the back of the limo. He was an excellent driver, and we arrived home, happy and safe. We booked Red Line for transportation to the airport. The owner was the driver. He had booked another appointment too close to ours, so he drove at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. He drove like an idiot, changing from one lane to another, even to the point of driving off the pavement on the right where the rumble marks are to pass another car. We were on I 90, so it was heavy traffic. WOULD NEVER EVER USE HIS SERVICE AGAIN. read more
