I was working with another Dr in the same clinic using StemWave therapy to help a should and neck issue I had been dealing with for 10 years (which I also highly recommend). My shoulder and neck would literally trigger each other in pain and it was extremely hard to do much as a result. I had done an ablation through my pain therapy clinic but that did not solve the issue, it temporarily helped the neck but the shoulder remained on fire. My pain over the last two years was in the 7-9 pain levels. I tried the Stemwave therapy and it was completely helping my shoulder pain. My shoulder pain was gone, but I can tell it was not 100% solving the issue in my neck because it was structural. The shoulder was doing so much better and the triggering of pain between the neck and shoulder was gone, but the neck started creeping back in as ablation started to wear off. For me this was not acceptable and I began to fear the pain coming back with a vengeance. The Stemwave Dr initially told me about the Atlas Orthogonal treatment as a solution and thought I would be a good candidate for it so I reached out to Dr. Prentice and got the ball rolling. SO HAPPY I DID. My pain is a zero in my neck and shoulder now!! I am in ongoing treatment as it is a process to fixing the structural issues that had been present for many decades, not just the past 10 years of constant neck pain I have experienced. I am 100% happy with the results and highly recommend people trying this treatment as a solution, not just a band aid and without surgery or a temporary fix. It is also important for me to mention, I am also doing decompression therapy for a stage 1 slipped disk that keeps on slipping and causing me to not do the living I like to do and though I am early in the process, I am extremely hopeful this therapy will be what I need to fix....not just mask this issue. This review is long overdue but I feel it's necessary to provide my input on my experience…read more I had ongoing shoulder pain that progressively got worse over time to the point where it was bothering me throughout the day. I searched Yelp and found Gabriel Goldman nearby with stellar reviews. Little did I know Yelp would steer me wrong. I setup an appointment and met up with him a few days later for a consult. He seemed very confident and told me that it would take many sessions and it may be costly but he would resolve my issues. He examined my shoulder and diagnosed me as having a lot of scar tissue in my shoulder from injuries and possible overuse. Now to the appointments.... I saw him a total of 6 or 7 times. Each appointment consisted of electrical stimulation/heat for about 20 minutes followed by about 10 minutes of ultrasound and then another 20 minutes manual therapy/massage. There was also an occasional adjustment during some visits. These are some of the issues I had during my visits: 1) The heat cuffs/blankets do not have any cover on them. Each patient sweats profusely with it and it is not cleaned at all between visits which seems quite unsanitary. 2) I never once saw anybody wipe down or clean the patient tables in the treatment room or the adjacent room. This should be standard practice. Again unsanitary practice. 3) The electrodes on the e-stim machine should be replaced after each patient. The electrodes were just reapplied back onto a plastic sheet and used on the next patient (Gross). 4) The end of the ultrasound device was never sanitized. The gel was just wiped off with a paper towel. The breaking point for me is when the manual therapy/massage left me severely bruised. The bruising was so bad I couldn't use my shoulder normally during times. The entire back side of my shoulder was left with HUGE dark bruises. Family members and my girlfriend were blown away when they saw the extent of the bruising. Gabriel Goldman told me this was normal and part of "breaking down the scar tissue." The tool he used to do a lot of this therapy was "a rock that he found on the beach." What the f....? Some of the normal things I had difficultly doing after these sessions included driving, showering, putting on a shirt, etc. What irked me is that he continued with the same treatment even though there was a lot of bruising and obvious pain and he stated it was ok and part of the process. I was already compensating with wrong muscles when I had my injury and this no doubt added to it, at least in my mind. My friend who is an MD advised me to stop this therapy and get an MRI to rule out anything serious. He told me to get the potential diagnoses/treatment notes from Gabriel Goldman and send it over to him for review. I called Gabriel Goldman and let him know I need my patient notes and potential diagnosis to review with my doctor friend in an upcoming visit. He got defensive and started asking questions. I let him know I was advised to get an MRI to rule out anything serious. His response was "I could have ordered that for you too." Ok...so why didn't you? So I let him know I would be moving on and he agreed to send me my patient notes. 2 days go by and I hear nothing back. I email him and no response. A day later I call and leave a message and no response. I call again and talk to him. I let him know my appointment is tomorrow and he finally emails me my notes. In the email he states: "Referencing my chart and your initial examination my impressions were that you had a subacromial impingement, but in my comments I had differentials of tendonitis/tendonosis and possible even a partial rotator cuff tear." WOW. Why wasn't any of this mentioned to me during my visits or my initial exam? What ever happened to the "scar tissue" diagnosis? So that is my less than stellar experience. The only upside is that his adjustments were nice (as a chiropractor I would hope they would be). But again I doubt the adjustments had anything to do with my treatment protocol, just another charge to tack onto my insurance charges. I wouldn't waste my money with this kind of care. Please choose wisely.

He got me off of crutches, and worked muscles that needed to be activated/engaged again. Physical therapy left me in a great deal of pain and inflammation. I actually stopped going because it would have me down for days afterwards. I switched gears and went with Dr. Goldman to help me recover. With a concrete plan of care, and sticking to it, I am now BOXING three days a week AND personal training! His quality of care is what has me back and better than ever. I actually feel stronger now! And if things get wonky from a workout etc, I swear it just takes me one adjustment, and everything from my lower back, to my neck feels aligned and solid. He has been a life changer for me!!! Since appointments are billed by the minute, concise communication matters. Our main issue arose after a SIBO treatment follow-up. We ordered a test to see if the treatment worked and requested only the results--no appointment needed, as we knew our next steps. Twice we called, only to be told Katie insisted on discussing the results with us directly. Assuming this was like many offices where doctors deliver results directly, we expected no charge. Instead, we were billed for two phone calls--$140 in total--for what was essentially a mandatory visit, despite their policy of not charging for test results alone. When I asked for this to be corrected, I was told they were 'making it right by explaining their policy.' This was customer service at its worst. I hope $140 was worth losing a full family of paying clients.

Jamie is exactly what I was looking for... He spends 70 minutes at my home and uses a variety of techniques to treat muscle and misalignment issues. He also prescribes exercises to improve strength and increase mobility and range of motion. Having him come to my home has been a huge blessing, not only in terms of convenience but also in that he is able to evaluate how things like my sleeping position could be impacting my chronic pain issues. Jamie has a geniune interest in seeing his patients improve and is not opposed to suggesting other forms of therapy if he feels they are indicated. We all know that physical therapy can be painful at times. Jamie's compassion and professionalism go a long way toward making the experience as "tolerable" as possible.

On his first visit, he determined that my pelvis was misaligned which caused my SI joint to slip, which caused my right leg to be shorter than the left, which caused misalignment of my right knee, which had resulted in torn meniscus in my right knee and a meniscus surgery a year prior. He gave me exercises to perform at home between visits, made suggestions on proper hiking techniques to prevent the SI joint from slipping; and if it did slip, how to place it back into place on my own. And the best part...he comes to your home for therapy sessions. Now how convenient is that?!
