It looks like a…read moreshop but doesn't sell anything and everything it offers is completely free - How is this possible? Well let me explain, it will all make sense in a few short paragraphs time; City Business Hub is a free business support centre operated by the Business Development Agency and Belfast City Council. Its purpose is to provide business support to start ups and local companies. They offer free networking events, Wifi services, office options and advice writing business plans and corporate documents. When you enter the office make sure you ring the doorbell first and don't start pushing and pulling the door like I did. There's two advice desks set up inside the office and when I went in the staff couldn't have been more accommodating even though one of them was rushing out the door to a meeting. Don't be shy these guys are here to help and they've encountered most business problems in their time. This is an excellent addition to Belfast and it's great to see the City Council investing in our brightest brains. If you're a budding entrepreneur put that Apprentice application form down and head here for some business advice -Lord Sugar will be working for you in no time.

I'd just been told by another hardware shop up the road that they couldn't take out the defunct watch battery for me for insurance reasons which sounded excessive for my little old cheap watch. Admittedly I wasn't very au fait with all this because the need to replace a watch battery is an extremely rare occurrence for me. For some watches you do need a jeweller to take the battery out which is a different matter. Anyway I'd found the whole exchange frustrating so I wasn't hopeful when I went into AMC Service Centre. Totally different story, however, because the man smiled, immediately reached for a battery and sorted out the whole thing in no time, first checking if my watch needed a jeweller, immediately recommending somewhere if I did, all for £2.50. Otherwise, AMC Service Centre is a small, old fashioned sort of place that specialises in vacuum cleaner repairs and part with other hardware/electrical suppliers. If my experience is an indication of the rest the business it's a gem.

I give unwanted things to charity shops, but I also recycle and regularly use Palmerston Road Recycling Centre (where else do you get full recycling facilities and art installations made from rubbish?). The staff in the centre are great - they are there to step in with anything you might need a hand with. They smile when it's raining and still smile when you nearly run over their toes in your car. You can bring everything here - the usual bottles, paper, car batteries but you can also bring spectacles, old books, clothes that are sent on for re-using by charities in Northern Ireland and the developing world. You should really make the effort, less stuff to landfill, someone else getting some benefit, you also get to feel good about yourself. You also get more room at home to fill with, well...more stuff!

First impressions are wrong though and the staff ask you if you need help and let you know which skip you should put whatever rubbish you have in to. Id tend to use carryduff or ballygowan dumps most but if I'm only dumping my own rubbish ill save my petrol and use Palmerston road.

Coles is an odd wee shop on France street in Newtwonards Town Centre. Imagine you cleaned out your shed at home and you wanted to sell all your stuff, well you would probably be Cole's biggest competitor. That's how odd the stuff is. It is kind of like a Car Boot sale stall made into a shop. The funny thing about it though is that I actually quite liked it. I walked in today and had a good old nosey around and It really did feel like I was looking through someone else's stuff which I suppose I was. Everything is very cheap in Coles, think 5 AA batteries for a pound and a bag of clothes pegs for 50p. It is small inside so if there are two grannies in there with their shopping baskets you probably wont fit in. I thought it was quaint and charming and you will get good service from the chap who works there, that's for sure.

We sent a message asking why the girls weren't here and we got no reply on messenger or via text. Very unprofessional and rude after having business for so long. No reason to what happened. So unexpected and sudden. A message would suffice instead of ignoring all the messages rudely.
