I went here fairly early in the morning for a quick bite for breakfast. I got the strawberry mojito CBD soda ($6) and a coffee crumble muffin ($3) which was a fairly good price. The person working there that time, Nate, was very friendly and gave us amazing recommendations for what we can make the best use of our trip and for the future. I enjoyed the soda and it was what I needed for the hike I did after that, the Misery Ridge in Smith Rock. The muffin fueled me up, not the best but it was good for the value. read more

Their coffee is really good! After some poor coffee at my local hotel, their espresso bar was God sent. The staff is friendly and they have some space for people to just "hang out" with books and puzzles. Highly recommend before or after visiting Smith rock (and their bathroom was spotless) read more

We stopped by this place for some morning caffeine. It was quiet when we walked in. The employee was helpful when we asked about drink options. He was chill and nice to talk to. While he made our drinks we looked around the shop. We noticed there were games to play, along with the climbing gear around the shop. We would happily come back again! This place not only has some of the best gear available but a great local beer tap and coffee drink selection. Plus they have fun (free) trivia nights and bingo with such great prizes! This review is based on a couple visits. Very convenient location: This store is located on the corner of Smith Rock Way, which leads to the birthplace of modern American sport climbing, Smith Rock. They carry the hard to find all leather full finger rappelling gloves made by Metolius, an Oregon-based company. I called several stores in and around Bend. Only this store had them in stock that day. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff: During my visits they thoroughly answered my questions and gave recommendations. Please give a raise to both Lee and Kyle and promote them :) GREAT cold brew and other brews, great caffeine source for long road trips. Lots of parking. If you're looking for quality climbing gear, I highly recommend this place. read more

They serve Metolius Chai which is local, sweet, spicy, and delicious and carry any last minute items you may have forgotten for your climbing trip. They folks that work here are always friendly and offer helpful route beta. Plus, they sell/rent stick clips for the notoriously high bolts at Smith. We went here to get coffee after a climbing trip near by. We did not feel welcome at all, the girl behind the bar was hanging out with what seemed like her friends. we couldn't even tell her our order because her friends were being loud and was basically just setting in the bar screaming and yelling. The coffee tasted okay. But we ended up getting it to go, because we didn't feel like sitting down in there because of the "party" the girl behind the bar and her friends were having (at 4 pm on a Monday). Climber Hangout | Cool Shop I think they moved locations and are now at the corner right before you turn onto the street for Smith Rock. Their new location is pretty cool. Prices are on par with other outdoor shops. Great selection of climbing shoes, and they actually had my size for Miuras, which is really hard to find elsewhere. They have some Smith Rock shirts, books, gear, *liquid chalk* -- it's hard to find this in stores, and a muscle massager-relaxer device ($40). This place has AC -- the other shop up the road doesn't :P What I thought was neat about this place is that they also serve beer and Hum kombucha. My husband got the blueberry mint and I got the other one that was some berry lemonade -- so good. They also have wifi and a little indoor seating area if you want to study. Outside in the back is a little hangout area as well. I believe they also have a happy hour right before they close. read more

We just wanted some good coffee and to inquire about climbing. the girl just handed me two empty cups and a carton of cold soy milk and continued to sit back down. This is a fantastic climbing outfitter that has a bunch of gear you won't find at most climbing specialty stores across the West coast. For instance Redpoint carries Totem and Basic cams, Mammut harnesses, and other stuff you won't find in the Valley, Joshua Tree, Vegas, or even Moab. Board games, cozy chairs and books to read. Sometimes if there are too many climbers in there it has a bit of a funky smell but that goes with the sport. Redpoint is a sweet little cafe/gear shop just outside of Smith. It is equipped with loads of cool gear sure to meet the needs of short-/long-term climbers. It is also loaded with a great selection of beers/coffees/teas etc. Perfect place to stop in and get oriented, especially if you are new to the area like I was. It is also good for meeting fellow climbers - I think they have shows on the weekends. Definitely check it out! read more
