You gotta be joking with the prices of these dive bars nowadays. $9 for a "tall" Hornitos n soda that doesn't even come in a pint glass. I asked for the next step up from well, thinking logically, maybe like $6? Considering most places well is $4.25-5.25? I don't even wanna know how much the well costs here lol This place used to be affordable and a cool spot to hangout. Not sure what happened. You'd think places like this would go back to pre-Covid prices but apparently not. Paying Downtown prices in a shitty foster neighborhood bar is a wild time to be alive lol Highway robbery right before your eyes. Best customer service once you become a regular here, they remember you they have sex video poker machines. The food is really good... and it is reasonably priced they have breakfast all day long. By far, the WORST food I have ever eaten in a public establishment. It doesn't matter what you order it's disgusting! The Cordon Bleu sandwich was literally Wonder bread with deli ham and deli cheese. I could continue but I don't have the stomach to finish the descriptions. Red's Bar & Grill is a very open, and accommodating bar. It has the good ole "dive" feel, most of us want, with sooo much more to offer. As far as this particular neighborhood goes, their liquor & beer selection is BAR NONE (pun intended). Food is amazing! The cooks go above & beyond to make sure everything is to order. Not only that, but they never turn up their nose to a special order. Steaks come out sizzling, variety of soups, wonderful salads! Their daily special provides a great mix to the regular menu, especially the seasonal additions. (Just had a Black & Bleu Salad - steak to your order, Bleu cheese crumbles, on a bed of spring mix greens with all the goodies in a salad, plus garlic bread ) AMAZING! Not only that, they serve breakfast the whole time they're open!!! Bartenders are seasoned, curtious, and honestly seem to care about everyone's well-being. I see how people may feel it's a bit "cliquey", but I think that's simply because these people have loved this bar for so long, they have built a family amongst themselves. Not bad i like they infused Vodka options my favorite, was the jalapeno. They had habenero and ghost pepper for the balsy As well which i enjoyed very much so. Not high prices either and it wasn't crowded or to loud which i appreciated. Not sure what I love more about Red's...is it the dogs left in cars in the parking lot barking for hours or the engines revving before the drunks hit the road on their way home (or to another bar?) If you want to get over-served and accosted by the "regulars", this might be the place for you! If you like getting in drunk fights in the middle of the night, definitely come here! People have left some pretty bad reviews about this place. I'm not doubting their experiences, but I will give a little context. This is a crappy dive bar where about a dozen hardcore regulars go just about every night. They all know eachother, and they get rowdy and stupid together all the time, which can be fun to observe if that's your thing. I go here because the bartenders are friendly and the food isn't bad. It's cheap, consistent and really close to my house. I'm not saying this place is some hidden, underrated gem, but don't write it off just because people go there expecting it to be a 'nice' dive bar and leave a 1 star review. read more

Only a handful of customers in the building, but the wait staff ignored me for a good 15 minutes before getting to me. They appeared to be more concerned with talking to their friends. The same thing happened when I ordered my second drink. I stood at an empty bar for what seemed like a month, waiting for the bartender to stop joking with her friends. And when I asked for a menu, she acted like I was inconveniencing her. I honestly did nothing to these people. We went for Taco Tuesday. It is definitely a local/dive/neighborhood bar. Not for the faint of heart! They have a huge TV for football. Good specials for game days. The bartenders pour decently enough to feel you got your money's worth. I got the soft tacos. They were HUGE! Basic, no frills, but filling. My man got the crunchy. Same thing. I see the reviews about poor service. We didn't encounter that at all. The cook was a little gruff but he was friendly. The bartender was engaging, even thought we arrived shortly before the regulars started pouring in. She checked in with us on a regular basis and even stopped to chat for a minute. The reason for just 3 stars is because getting out of the parking lot is not fun at the early evening hours, the bathrooms need some renovations (clean but old) and the booths are NOT comfy. This is a great for a local bar with pretty good food. The pours are good and the staff is friendly enough. When this place really shines is when you start to become a regular. Red's and their customers can be a little rough around the edges, but that is what I am looking for in my regular drinking spot. One of the things I used to look forward to was Saturdays and Sundays at Reds on Foster. For the money the best Bloody Mary bar in town. Probably 50 ingredients or better, tall glass full of vodka all for $5.00 or so. Taco's are 2 for $3 and they are pretty good especially considering the price. I I like to get 2 or 4 and crunch it all up and turn it into a taco salad, where else you gonna get a good taco salad for $3, or even $6? We stopped into Red's to play video poker, have a Long Island, and place a Lunch order to go. There was only one other patron in the bar. You would think our lunch order would be fine, right? How difficult are burgers and fries, right?? Well, here at Red's, my bacon double cheeseburger was ok. But, the condiments on the side(?) well, that was a totally different story. There were 2 sliced tomatoes, 3 slices of red onion, which was great. But, when it came to lettuce(?) that was sorely lacking. It looked like there were 6 very small pieces of wilted lettuce on the bottom of the burger which was drowning in mayo. Btw, someone should tell the cook that the bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and onion go on the top of the burger not the bottom! That is a no brainers. As for the fries, well, they weren't raw but, they weren't fully cooked either! They were like greasy, warm and mushy. Just awful! This is not the first time my hubby and I have eaten here for lunch. But, it will definitely be the last time we eat here. The bill was $36 and some change and let me tell you, Carl's Jr, was better than Red's. Do NOT waste your money on food. They've got guests all the time and both of the bartenders that have served me seem to be on point, one of them even turns on the baseball game and pours my beer before I can even sit down. I came from Hollywood (Portland) I tend to find a place I am comfortable with, affordable, safe with predictable food and drink. My suggestion to the other YELP reviewers don't make one visit and expect to get the full picture of staff and patrons. After frequenting reds for a month I connected with Ducks ,Beavers Sales people contractors self employed and retired neighbor hood folk. The core clientele are hard working honest neighborhood however some bad seeds can blow in. On more than one occasion the girls will take control with the backup support of the regular customers. I dropped into Red's because a friend recently started working there. I was pleasantly surprised to see a couple of Microbrews on tap. Not something easily found so far out on Foster Rd. Then I grilled the bartendress about the menu, specifically about the Philly Cheesesteak because being from east of the Mississippi I have a very high regard for a good cheesesteak. She assured me that it was "cheesy as fu@!" and authentic, too. I ordered it and Boy oh Boy was I pleased. After trying the "cheesesteak" attempts at Steakadelphia and some place in Sellwood I had all but given up on one of my favorite sandwiches out here in No Man's land when it comes to a decent grill. But DANG! Red's has the thin sliced juicy beef, the perfectly grilled onions AND peppers, and a cheese that is so melty it pretty much infuses into the other ingredients. Loved. It. My boyfriend and I decided to forgo Yelp as a guide for dinner, and just wing it. So, we went down Foster and let fate decide where to take us. It took us to Red's Bar, a place I had passed by many times but never actually had visited. We walked into a dimly lit space, with a pool table, a HUGE flat-screen TV with the bar smack in the middle. The bartender was friendly and welcoming, and the waitress who brought us our food was nice. The food itself was alright, which is why I gave this place only three stars. I ordered their macaroni and cheese which had bacon bits in it. It was good, but it just didn't stand out to me. Another reason I gave this place three stars was due to the atmosphere. I love dive bars. The more dimly lit, the better. But I also like it when the atmosphere comes off as friendly and welcoming, and I just did not feel it.
