There are no re-takes when it comes to your wedding photos. So, I couldn't be happier that I happened to find Alex at an otherwise pretty awful bridal showcase. From the beginning, he was flexible, accommodating, welcoming, kind and completely open/non-judgmental (it's amazing the comments people will make when they find out you're getting married in a matter of weeks and still have planning left!). Of course, all that turned out to be just icing on the proverbial GORGEOUS cake. Alex did such a fantastic job with the photos that I get compliments from literally every person who has seen them on not just how beautiful we look (though of course that's nice to hear - so THANK YOU especially for whatever magic you made, Alex!), but also on the incredibly high artistic quality for the photos. His use of color is stunning, and he did such a wonderful job showcasing San Francisco's City Hall as not just a backdrop, but a visual subject in itself. It really made our ceremony photos something we'll truly treasure forever.The party photos and portraits were incredible to boot - he really made an effort to capture shots of each person who attended, and those serve as such an incredibly rich record of such a wonderful day in our lives and those we love so dearly who shared in it. As for the logistics, Alex's pricing is beyond reasonable (so if you think you can't afford him, talk to him!) and he gives you all of the digital hi-res images to do what you want with. After speaking with a few services that actually charged you separately for these - which I think is absolutely ridiculous - the way Alex works, making it actually about you, was a breath of fresh air. He also went above and beyond to make sure he captured all the moments that were important to us. I practically had to force him to take a small plate of food for energy - I don't know how he kept up with us literally all day and well into the night! I cannot recommend Alex and his work highly enough. Amidst the wedding hustle, I called dibbs on picking the photographer because 1. I love photographer and it is my favorite hobby 2. I had a look that I wanted Alex as a photographer hands down shoots low light better than anyone I have seen in the Bay. He has great visions of what he would like to shoot, but definitely incorporates your wants and needs in the shots. His post-production is phenomenal. He is great at enhancing color and wonderful at catching people at the right moments. Our experience started with a 12 hour engagement shoot where we went from Berkeley, to Larkspur(to recreate the proposal), to the Ferry ride, and then to SF for some night shots and then BACK to Berkeley. They put NO time constraint and were willing to accommodate ANYTHING we asked for. it ended at night with dinner and drinks in Berkeley. On the wedding day Alex arrived early to catch my wife getting ready and was the last of all my vendors to leave. Brenda, his wife, shot myself and the groomsmen at our hotel simultaneously. Once of the best parts was her "why not?" attitude when I wanted to run to a local watch shop to size my wedding gift from my wife. She hopped in her car and willingly drove me, all the while snapping shots. There are some things that you cannot put a price on, especially when it comes to professionalism and class. I am so incredibly happy that we came across RedSphere Studio's booth at a wedding expo! We had looked at all the other photographer's portfolios which were great and were about to leave when we came across RedSphere Studio's booth tucked away on the far side of the expo. It really was a case of saving the best for last. Once we met with Brenda and Alex and saw more of their work, there was absolutely no need to continue our search. Their work stood out from traditional wedding photography in that it used eye popping compositions and extremely vivid and high contrast color to create a ton of drama and emotion. They were both fun to work with, their prices were reasonable and they included a flash card of all the images that had been selected and carefully retouched. A lot of photographers try to charge you more for these things and sell you on different packages which I find kind of annoying. With Brenda and Alex everything was simple and it made it easy to share the photos with our friends and family. I did a boudoir shoot with them as well to give my fiancee as a gift and I had so much fun! Again, they were both totally accommodating and made it easy and comfortable. They are creative and attentive to details and excited to try new things. I think that is what impressed us the most with them is that they are passionate and love what they do. Some wedding photographers seem to treat a wedding like a production line but Brenda and Alex were excited to make everything unique to our individual styles. I first of all I want to say I work in the wedding industry with the pickiest of the pickiest, so I understand perfection and Alex and Anastasia were amazing!!!! I have to admit, people thought I was crazy spending so much for my photographer but her is not the most expensive and even my husband had to be convinced. But once we met him we knew he could help find our wedding moments in photos that we would never forget. It has been two months and we already have 4 giant canvases of our wedding and my husband can not stop bragging about our photographer and photos he originally was skeptical about...now he's happy! I first saw Alex and his work at a bridal show and we really liked his style. His website shows lots of amazing shoots from his previous clients. His fees are very reasonably priced, compared to other vendors. We booked him for both our engagement and wedding pictures. We decided on San Francisco for our Engagement shoot and Alex took us to a few locations throughout. He was very easy to work with and had great ideas/locations for the pictures. We chose Alex to photograph our wedding and reception after interviewing five different photographers, all of whom were highly reviewed. Alex stands out for his skill in getting sharp, moving candids, and making colors pop. The examples on his website provide a great sense of what yours will be like. Alex has set up his business model on delivering digital images, not hardcopy photo books, which is great for those (like us) who want to keep the high-res versions of all their photos without having to go back to purchase them a la carte later on. Alex gave us full resolution copies of most every photo he shot (on the order of a few thousand, about 800 of which were very good, unique photos which formed the main set that we kept and shared online with family), along with 'touched up' versions of ~100 of the best shots. Alex puts a lot of work into the digital refinement process and this latter set really look fantastic and were a great highlights set for sharing with friends and creating a hardcopy photobook (which I made using iPhoto; other online programs also work well for this). Having the rest of the shots allowed us to relive every moment of the day, and to fill gaps in the featured set where we had an occasional friend or family member whom we wanted to be sure to include in the highlights. We've received mountains of compliments on the photos, not just on how much fun it looked we had on our wedding day (tons!), but on how skilled our photographer was at making all of our guests look great and really bringing out the vibrant colors. Alex earned every compliment. Alex (and Brenda, his wife/assistant/manager) was well prepared for a rigorous day (and an earlier day when we did engagement shots), tireless and able to blend in while clicking away. He even gave me some valuable free advice for setting up a little homemade photobooth with my own DSLR that we had a lot of fun with. We saw Alex's website and new instantly, that we wanted him to be our wedding photographer, he has a real talent for capturing those little moments and creates some beautiful pictures. Its one of those critical things on your wedding day, it goes by so quickly and your photos are your memories so you have to choose the right person. Alex was so professional, his communication throughout the process from signing contracts to receiving the finished photos was second to none. We knew we were in great hands and trusted him completely. He sent us some 'sneak peak' photos after the wedding which allowed us to make some special thank you cards for our guests. I was looking for a wedding photographer and one day, while working on my Pinterest board for cool SF wedding photo locations, I realized most of my pins were for this business! So I contacted Alex and the rest is history. He answered all my questions for the past couple of months, was receptive to my shot list of the photos I wanted to capture that day (detailed shots of flowers, the dress, shoes, rings, getting ready pics for both bride and groom, and photos around SF). We worked it out to have 2 photographers, Alex and Carsten on that day. They were prompt, blended into the background, went with the flow, and made sure to get the shots I wanted. I didn't have to wait a long time for the photos afterwards and we are still glowing with how well they captured the day's events. We went to Potrero Hill, The Palace of Fine Arts, Land's End, and the CA St cable car. We were supposed to squeeze in Baker Beach but the fog rolled in so you couldn't even see the beach. We went with Alex Zyuzikov as our wedding photographer. We had an Indian-American fusion ceremony outdoors in Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland, followed by a cocktail party outside, and reception indoors. We went with Alex primarily because he is a genius when it comes to color and lighting, and color was a big part of our wedding. We also loved the care he put into post-processing. His pricing model is great -- he gives his customers high-res versions of all the photos he takes (note that for several wedding photographers that we interviewed, they charged a whole bunch extra for this so we were totally turned off them). Alex did an engagement shoot for us three weeks before the big day which was super fun -- we took photos in West Oakland near the docks, San Francisco, and Treasure Island. For the wedding itself, Alex recruited a second photographer at no extra cost which we thought was really nice of him. On the day of the wedding, Alex, his lovely wife (and assistant!) Brenda, and the assistant photographer showed up on time and immediately got to work taking detail shots -- the shoes, the dress, the programs, and all our friends having a good time helping out. The photography team was easy-going and professional and kept their cool (literally) on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year. At the ceremony, Alex blended in seamlessly and did a great shot capturing beautiful portraits of all the guests, especially the children. He also did a super job capturing the evening's performances. The only regret I had all evening is that my husband and I weren't more proactive about getting posed shots of our families, so make sure that you talk with him about this beforehand if you'd like a mixture of candid and posed shots (most of our shots are candid). All in all, though, I would HIGHLY recommend Alex. Perhaps more than anything, we felt that he had become our friend and we felt that he wanted to do the best job he could possibly do for us, which he did! read more

Having looked all over the net for wedding photos in the bay Area we liked the most, we stumbled upon RedSphere Studios. We loved the warm, personal style in Alex' photos and the way he works magic with colors/different filers! Since we had a last-minute wedding planned on a Thursday we only called Alex one week before and we were absolutely over the moon when he said he could shoot our wedding!! We wanted Alex to shoot at a few specific locations and that was no problem at all. My husband and I really liked his style for taking pictures: relaxed, keeping himself in the background, only giving a few simple instructions, and preposing more romantic locations when we had some time over between the different sites. We have nothing but great things to say about Alex and Brenda. They were both friendly and down to earth, not pushy or slimy salesman like so many other people we'd met that day at the wedding fair. Brenda is so nice and accommodating and Alex is so passionate about photography. We were impressed by the style of his photos and Alex's laid back personality. While every other vendor was was literally trying to pull you to their booth to give you their spiel and sell you some expensive package the two of them sat quietly and calmly at a table with little more than a couple iPads and business cards. The photos on the iPads immediately jumped out at us. Images of beautiful and bold backgrounds, striking colors, clever composition of in focus and out of focus areas, all perfectly framing beautiful and happy couples. Striking images that really seem to capture a moment, a feeling, or something intangible glided across the screen. These photos were different than everything else we'd seen so far. These weren't some phony or canned wedding or engagement shots. This was REAL photography. We ended up checking out his website more when we got home and followed up via email. Alex is super attentive and responds within hours to any email you send him, making communications super easy for me and my hectic schedule. He deserves a million stars on customer service, professionalism, and attention to detail. Originally we had only wanted to have him for the wedding, but after reviewing his portfolio and seeing all the amazing photos he has on his website and blog, we decided to do an engagement shoot with him too. Boy, are we glad cause they turned out to be better than we could've hoped. Neither my husband nor I are familiar with posing for a camera but Brenda and Alex made it easy and comfortable. They encouraged us to relax and just act normal. The photos came out so well that we even used them for our wedding invitations and website. Not only this, but we did a special photo shoot that involved my husband and I jumping into Lake Tahoe and Alex was a trooper! He paddled out in a teeny dinghy with his super expensive camera strapped around his neck, anchored his boat to a buoy with a rope, and gave us the perfect shots! Talk about dedication! Alex and Brenda are such a nice couple - we spent that whole weekend together and we talked as if we were old friends. For the wedding, we couldn't have asked for better photos. Alex made us both feel so glamorous and beautiful and we have received nothing but compliments from our friends and family. Both he and Brenda were there on time and with us throughout the whole day. They blended in with the crowd and never got in the way of our big day. Best of all, they provide you with full quality digital copies of all the finished picture from the event. Alex possesses a true talent as a photographer and an artist. He captures the perfect moments that are so rich in colors. We've loved his photos so much that we've even taken some of his other landscape photos and blown them up onto canvases for our house! My fiancé and I looked at a LOT of different photographers for our wedding... we knew Alex and his wife, Brenda, were the right team as soon as we met with them. Not only did they offer the most reasonable price, but they were friendly, professional, and their portfolio was off the hook! My husband and I fell in love with Alex's editing style, eye for angles, and focus on colors in the photos (if you've seen his photos, you know what I mean). Also (and this was incredibly important to us), Alex was clear that at any event he does, he will stay for as long as is necessary to get the job done - no set time limit, and no extra fee for staying late!!! With every other photographer I looked at, they would charge a certain fee for a certain amount of time - anything over that was an extra charge, which just made me really anxious. And lastly, my husband and I both appreciated that Alex was clear from the outset that he is not much into the "traditional, posed" photos, but takes a lot of candid shots throughout any event. Once we signed the contract with Red Sphere, Alex stayed in consistent contact with us, was quick to respond to emails, and generally provided a professional and friendly working relationship. He and Brenda were great during out Engagement Photo session, and were really flexible with all our location ideas (We ended up taking photos at six spots around SF/Peninsula, TWO of which Alex suggested on the fly when he realized we had extra time before the sunset, where we wanted photos at Baker Beach.) The photos all came out great. On the day of the wedding, Brenda was not able to make it due to a family thing, which I was initially worried about. However, Alex brought another photographer, Leo, who ended being incredible. No complaints from us. Alex and Leo caught everything I could have asked for from my husband and I getting ready with our bridal party through the last moments of the reception - posed photos with friends and family and lots of wonderful and hilarious candid shots. I barely noticed they were even there throughout the event, but the pictures later told me otherwise! The final product was perfection. My husband and I are in love with our photos, and we continue to get compliments from others as well! We were looking for something different and unique, and we definitely got it. Friends and family were in aww when they saw the result of our 4 hour engagement shoot all across San Francisco.
