They make themselves available during office hours, are always willing to answer questions, and often spend extra time helping students who need it. On top of that, the school offers free tutoring for every class, which has been an amazing resource. Nursing school is challenging, and I think it's important for prospective students to understand that success requires a significant time commitment. I spend around 20 hours a week studying outside of class, and for me, not working while in the program has made a huge difference. This isn't an easy program, but if you're willing to put in the time and effort, there are plenty of resources and people who genuinely want to help you succeed. There is not good help available for it and it was a major hurdle. I believe the difficulty of this program is a major reason that I did not graduate from here despite having a ridiculous amount of both transfer credits and credits from the school. *The graduation rate is low for a reason* 2) The counseling center decided I was oppositional and had me list all times I had been oppositional throughout my life. After doing this I ended up believing it was true and this caused significant problems for me. I was told many negative things about myself but nothing positive. 3) I was told that the help line was not affiliated with the counseling center and then after calling I got multiple calls from the counseling center 4) One of the people at the dean of students office asked me very invasive questions including what medications I was on, if I would continue taking them, and what the side effects were. She also wanted me to write about how I would succeed at work in the future because she believed that I could not. It was not something she did to help me. She is controlling and should not work with vulnerable populations or anyone who needs help. 5) I was yelled at violently by someone at the call center. She not only kept her job but was moved to different positions within the college without being let go.

I have on multiple occasions asked that they review the SAP hold against me and see the details of Disability, and was told that if I didn't provide my medical records, then I could be denied my FEDERAL Pell Grant. Other schools are not asking for my medical records. I won't provide that to any financial office anyway. That's what the office of Disability Services is for.

What a waste of my time!!…read more Here's the long story, in January 2025 I went in to talk about the X-ray tech training because I saw the advertisement outside the building. I talked to the advisor about the program and was told the next opening doesn't start until January 2026. I thought that's a long ways away but was told that will give me plenty of time to get ready, ok fine. A month later I had to take a test on the computer (I forgot the name of it) to get a good enough score. I got a 23 first time and then was told I should do it again so I had to come back a week later and I got a 25.I was told I got a good enough score and should be fine. A couple months later I went back in to see my advisor if I'm on the right track, at this point, I was now told the X-ray program won't start until March 11th, 2026. I thought that would've been nice to been told that sooner but whatever. So the next step was a face to face interview with the X-ray tech "head-lead" person. I had the interview on October 31, 2025 and I thought the interview went well. I was specifically told that I would know if I got in the program or not and that she would email me by the end of the first week of December, great. The end of the first week of December comes and no response, I wait another week, no response. I emailed my advisor, who in the past would get back to me in a timely matter, about whether I got in the program or not, no response!! I never heard back from this place. It's honestly so bizarre and I'm counting my blessings that I didn't just pay them $55,000. What gets me mad is the fact that I wasted a year dealing with this place and not doing something else that values my time. I knew the ratings for this place were bad, but I'm the type who still likes to see because maybe it's not as bad as people say. Well sadly it's true for me.

I managed to flunk out of the 2nd semester of my program which requires picking up the program in May 2026. So keep in mind this is a four month period. By the middle of it, I applied for "re enrollment" and was told that a committee would be meeting on April 23 to review my application. Turns out they had "approved" this much sooner. When I received the call I was "re-enrolled" I asked if I needed to handle any taxes or related information prior to coming in for a scheduled appointment and was told that everything would be taken care of by the meeting time. Turns out revealing my 2024 taxes had not been squared away at this point was a major obstacle and we needed to reschedule. Since then I had several telephone correspondences with the Financial Aid reps and was told various different things and suggestions. My 2025 taxes returns were mentioned as helping to get the funding I need to start. Another was that a "financial coordinator" would work out some monthly payment plan agreement. Neither of these things apparently helped my situation. Given that the 2024 taxes processing takes several weeks to months if you do a mail in (which online tax filing indicated was the only option) I wouldn't have FASFA until early July 2026. In other words despite having two months time to get back into the program and have what I needed accounted for, it took as long for me to find out what I already knew was going to happen: sorry but you should have had all these bs things done and over with, you need a co-signer we already know you don't have, tough shit. But you can wait till the beginning of the new year to start up again!

Where to begin? RMCAD has the potential to be a great post-secondary art education institution -…read morethey have a beautiful intimate campus, and a great student-to-teacher ratio for in-person classes, and yet, they still fall short in so many ways. Post-COVID, on-campus enrollment plummeted--over 80% of students didn't return to in-person classes, leaving roughly 150 students now on campus each term. This caused major issues, including a lack of available in-person classes required for your major, and frequent professor reassignments. Instructors often don't know what they're teaching until one or two weeks before a term starts, leading to severe underpreparedness and a poor learning experience. Faculty professionalism is another major issue. While a few professors genuinely care about their students and try to do a good job, most fall short. So far, I would say only 30% of the professors I've had have been average / good, while the other 70% have been underprepared, unqualified to teach, and quite frankly don't seem like they even want to be here. The education quality is often worse than public high school and incomparable to my previous college experience. One professor didn't bother to grade assignments for the last four weeks of class, ignored feedback requests from her students, and openly talked about her desire to leave RMCAD. Instead of teaching, she spent most of our class time shopping online and watching TV shows--yet she remains employed despite official documented student complaints. What does that tell you about the quality of education here and the school's priorities? Some of the course curriculum being taught raises eyebrows too; there are many mistakes, out-of-order learning units, and outdated information in the LMS (learning management system), which each class is supposed to follow, whether you are an on-ground or online student. If you take classes online, not having direct access to your professor necessitates a lot of back-and-forth communication and easily creates confusion, whenever there are blatant mistakes in the learning module you are supposed to be following, since online classes do not have professors that lecture. RMCAD also struggles with student retention due to institutional ineffectiveness and poor communication. A major frustration is the inability to schedule your own classes, an unusual policy for higher education. While students can submit scheduling preferences, these are ignored 90% of the time. The registrar's office frequently assigns students to classes that don't fit their availability, even when better options exist. This makes maintaining a job or arranging childcare extremely difficult. Every term, I've had to fight for schedule corrections, despite clear solutions being available from the start - they just always get overlooked by the people in charge of making your schedule. If you try to be proactive, efforts to resolve issues are met with endless runarounds and finger-pointing between departments. Promised follow-ups rarely happen, requiring students to chase answers repeatedly. Younger, first-time college students would likely find this process even more frustrating. Despite being paying customers, students must constantly advocate for themselves to receive basic services. Despite being a student at RMCAD for less than a year, these are not the only alarming issues I've encountered here - I could go on but am limited by Google's review character count maximum. The root issue is that students are not RMCAD's priority. Instead, financial interests seem to dominate decision-making, which makes sense given it's a for-profit institution. Unfortunately, leadership seems unaware that taking care of students would, in turn, improve the school's financial health. The campus's main owners and the college's president all lack backgrounds in education, and this disconnect reverberates throughout the institution. As a result, students receive a poor experience and low-quality education, making RMCAD an unworthy investment.
