I'm frustrated with the dental office's billing practices because I reviewed my account with them, paid everything I was told I owed, and was specifically assured my balance was settled, yet I continue to receive additional charges from last year. My issue isn't with paying legitimate bills--I will do so if I owe them--but with being repeatedly told the account is closed only for old charges to reappear later, making it difficult to trust the billing information provided. I would strongly recommend that others keep their own records, request itemized statements, and obtain written confirmation of a zero balance. read more

I only went to Redwood because my dentist sold his private practice and move to this office. 2 experiences to note. My son, who was 25yo, visited this office for a cleaning and was told that he had deep periodontal pockets and should pay around $200 for a deep cleaning. He immediately went to another dentist who told him that was not the case. I have a small chip on my front tooth that had a filling for 15 years that fell off. Needed a replacement filling and was told by Dr. Jack that all of my teeth would crack like that and I should get veneers. Are you kidding me. the chip was my fault, not caused by structural weakness. I'm 62yo and had 2 sets of braces. My teeth look great. No way am I going to "ruin" the look of my teeth with $6,000 veneers. This place upsells. I'm out. Switch dentists to a recommended private practice rather than these plaza dentists. 2 stars because I really liked the dental hygienist. read more

Redwood Dental in Troy, on Long Lake, completely took advantage of my wife's ignorance about the difference between a regular cleaning, a perio-maintenance, and a deep perio planing and root scraping. Then they scared her into a non-covered laser procedure for $200 because they made her gums bleed a little. She doesn't have a bleeding disorder. Her teeth don't bleed when she flosses. No one at Redwood said she had periodontal disease. If she'd waiting 3 minutes and rinsed her mouth with water the bleeding would have stopped on its own. She has perfect teeth. Perfectly straight. All 4 wisdom teeth intact. Never a cavity in 65 years and they tell her she'll risk losing her teeth without a deep planing. Her scan did not show a single area of red. At MOST, a perio maintenance cleaning MAY have been appropriate. The treatment plan they scared her into was inappropriate. They scammed her. And now they have lost TWO patients. read more

I have been coming to this office for almost 20 years. I like Dr. Jack very well and he is the primary reason I have continued with this practice. However, today was my last day. Six months ago, I waited for the hygienist for 30 minutes only to receive a phone call asking where I was, that I was late to the appointment, to which I replied, "I am currently and have been sitting on your lobby for 30 minutes". Then, I was refused a cleaning because I declined a surprise $300 (out of pocket) deep cleaning. After speaking with someone at the desk, I felt confident that I would be able to receive my cleaning at my next appointment and again, I was refused cleaning because I declined the expensive deep cleaning. So, rather than doing something more than nothing and collecting their money for a routine cleaning, Redwood Dental will receive $0 and has lost a long time patient. read more

My crown came off, so I called around to different dental offices. This office got me in the next day (today) they took very good care of me, and got my crown put back on. Was extremely happy with everyone in the office! They even gave me advice and knowledge that I did not know. thank you all so very much from the bottom of my heart. Be aware of leaving negative reviews for this location as a representative from the company (Michael) will privately message you on Yelp a couple months after your review with negative comments as to why you left the review (claiming that everything was false) and will go as far as to search your name online and recite your occupation to you in another message. I had scheduled an appointment as a new patient this past June. I called on the morning of Tuesday, May 21 and set an appointment for Monday, June 3 at 4PM. I know they had my information on file because they sent me a text (9:55PM) and an e-mail (6:10PM) that same day saying that 'it was time for my next cleaning appointment and to call their office to make an appointment'. However, when my wife and I arrived to the Troy location for the appointment, I was told that no record of me existed and that they had never heard of the dentist I had mentioned. The ladies behind the desk were rather short and abrasive about the confusion and offered us no help in determining if we were, maybe, at the wrong location or if there was some sort of scheduling mishap. read more

Went here a few years ago and they messed up more than one filling for me. I now have to go through the (expensive) process of fixing all of this with my current dentist. I was also told that my teeth were too yellow and that I needed them whitened. I had never been told by any other dentists that my teeth were ugly. The dentist also made me feel uncomfortable by talking about relatives that I don't associate with. They were "nice," but it was a bad experience for me. read more

Dr Hannah made sure I was comfortable, relaxed, and I didn't feel any pain. I've had several fillings redone and some major oral surgery. Dr Hannah took time to listen to my concerns and explain everything to me in detail. The lovely ladies at the front desk always greet me with a smile and I never have to wait long in the waiting room, My dental hygienist, Tracy, is a true delight. I never made it out of the waiting room to see the doctor. I was a new patient or wanted to become one. Made my appointment for 8:00am and arrived 7:57am. I was brought up to be on time, and I was. They sent me all the paperwork prior to my appointment. I had everything filled out. I asked one of the staff around 8:10 if my appointment was at 8:00am She said yes, So I sat back down. I looked at the clock and it was 8:35am. I got up and asked the lady who I spoke to twice to give me back the X-rays and all the paperwork I filled out back. I was going to find a new Dentist. Dr Johnson I was looking forward to meeting you and become a new patient. Unfortunalty that's not going to happen. I also provide a service in my profession. This practice left me with TMJ (temporomandibular joint) orofacial pain. It's been a year since the teeth cleaning and I'm still in pain. I called when I first had symptoms, the message never went to the doctor. But that was just the last incident of the whole exchange with the doctor and hygenist. My teeth history is suburb by any standard, I only have 2 fillings and my teeth are quite naturally straight (I'm in my 50s). The second time I went to get my teeth cleaned, I had such severe pain and swelling in my upper gum, I thought something was stuck and went back and received Xrays to only be told nothing was wrong, but the hygienists most likely nicked my gum and caused the problem (Cost $80). The next visit, 6 mos later, they told me I had a small cavity in my upper molar but they didn't want to touch it. On the next and final visit no cavity but a stain, and left me with this horrible TMJ. Furthermore, I bought the "savings plan" I did have 1 more appointment that I paid for, but I opted not to take it for fear of the worse. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. read more

Service was fine and dentist was fine. The hygienist I used to have was great (Kathleen) but when she left the new hygienist did x-rays on me that weren't requested or required and I got billed for them because the insurance wouldn't cover it. Now I am trying to leave this office and they are now charging me to get copies of my X- Rays. I used to be happy with this location but from my last visit and this experience I am disappointed.
