We found this cozy little campground in Boulder Creek and spent a perfect weekend there. It felt more like glamping than primitive camping, with amenities such as hot showers, clean restrooms, a swimming pool, some gaming activities, and hiking trails nearby as the resort is catered to RV's and trailers. However, there are no fire pits at the tent sites so bring a portable fire pit! The staff was incredibly friendly, and we truly had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing retreat. Was greeted by John and his son. They helped us back the trailer into the resort as we had missed the entrance by about 50-60 feet and the road was getting narrower ahead. Perfect stop off from SF on our way to Yosemite. Site had hook ups, water, etc and is only a short walk into Boulder Creek for restaurants, gas, supermarkets, liquor store, gift shops, etc. A perfect location especially as the site itself is quiet and peaceful. However the big stand out plus of this site is John, the Manager. He goes above and beyond in helping people out. Whether it is onward travel directions, helping people hook up to the electric, guiding people into their sites (when they clearly don't know their right from their left!) or sorting mysterious lights on the dashboard, this man comes up trumps every time. And all with a smile! Thoroughly recommend this RV & camping site. Thank you John! read more

We enjoyed our stay here. We had to cancel a trip somewhere else due to fires and were able to call on a Thursday and book a dry camping spot here for our 26 ft trailer for the following day Friday - Sunday. Our kids enjoyed the pool they also had corn hole, badminton, and ping pong. The site was clean with a picnic table and bbq. It was a bit unlevel but was fine with our levelers. It has a dump station and water fill station near the entrance. There are long term residents, however they are kind of in their own section. We had no issue with that whatsoever. Our site did back up to a fence with houses or apartments on the other side which might bother some but we really had no issue with that either. Being surrounded by beautiful redwood trees was really just what we wanted and there were plenty of those. Overall we had a good experience here. The owners were very friendly and the place was quiet and clean and the perfect weekend getaway from Silicon Valley. read more

We did not have a bad experience at the fault of the resort ...but this is more of a reminder to ask for more details when booking.. We are traveling in a new 40' motorhome and the 20 amp service was not adequate. We not only felt awful having to turn the rig on in the night and early morning and run the generator non stop... it was very hard on our systems. Our refrigerator and water heater would not operate. Thankfully the shower facility was nice & clean with plenty of hot water. We felt terrible for the poor campers stuck next to us in tents but the alternative was losing a months worth of food in our freezer. The site itself was perfect and private. Also heads up if you're driving a larger rig be sure you fuel up long before you get into this area as you won't fit into any of the small stations near by. The hosts on the weekend of Sep 6-8 were wonderful, attentive and very kind people and were very sweet to me and my family. I am very thankful to have gone there and have had wonderful hosts. I think my favorite part aside from the hosts was a break in California greed, as the showers and other amenities were no additional charge, they were included in a very fair price paid initially. Amazing camping experience! The resort gives you a true redwood forest ambiance. The camping area is grassy and tree lined. Bathrooms are very clean and they provide a dish washing station. I did not want to leave. The service was great! Staff kept making sure we were doing well. I will be back with all my family. read more

Heather was major buzzkill. They gave us a different campsite than the one we booked, and then complained when we were too loud next to their cabin. Campfires were not permitted and neither were hammocks. The peacock was piercingly loud and screamed all night. The kids in the pool were the loudest things ever and were never told to be quiet. We stayed under the redwoods with our three dogs and loved it, but saw the families with kids camp and play in the big meadow. Kids also enjoyed the pool and ping pong table. Standing charcoal BBQ's and picnic tables at every site. No campfires due to fire risk. Thought we would miss this but we really didn't. Clean shower and bathroom. Quiet at 10pm - good sleeping! You wanna party all night? Not your place. You wanna be camping alone in the remote wilderness? Not your spot. You want a clean, organized, family-friendly place to camp then go to this RV (and tent) Park. Campers were a mix of families with young kids and teenagers, couples and a few groups of friends. Very dog friendly - they gave our pooches dog biscuits for good behaviour. ; ) Close enough to walk to Boulder Creek which has several cute restaurants, bars, grocery stores (including organic) and hardware stores. 20min drive to Santa Cruz. We had the pleasure of staying at the "Lovers Grove" campsite in the Redwood resort facility. Our camp host, Louise was super friendly and very gracious and making our stay special. This resort is a hidden gem! I would highly recommend this as a comfortable place just off the road in the redwoods close to Boulder Creek with the super simple access to the big campgrounds in the area. If you're unable to find on-site camping, or for anyone looking for a comfortable and inexpensive place to stay with incredible charm and wonderful, caring service, this is it. I was so lucky to find this place. I had to boondock the Friday night before in Monterey because I couldn't find an available campground anywhere. I left a message and they called me back first thing in the morning and said, "Come over!" No early arrival fee. I requested a spot in the shade and my site was wonderful. Got a couple good showers and a dip in the pool. There's a white peacock named Albert who visits often. Quiet and night and peaceful the entire time. "Bee" is incredibly kind and helpful. She went out of her way to help me with a couple things. I'd go back in a minute. Cash only, but there's probably an ATM within a half mile in Boulder Creek. I'd like to stay longer next time. read more

What a great find!! Have visited this area many times and had no idea this place was there. Very well run, quiet, clean restrooms, efficient check-in and yes, cash or check only. Our rv site was huge, right next to the pool, although this time of year (winter) it was not open. The only down side was 20 amp service which was the only one available so was careful running one appliance at a time. As previously noted, some full time residents live there but those sites are neat and clean and residents very nice. Even had a white peacock walk through the campground!!Just a short walk to town where gas and groceries are available. Short drive to Santa Cruz Boardwalk, wineries and State Parks! Redwood Resort is an amazing cozy great place to camp. It is a great jumping off point to explore Santa Cruz, Monterey, the Redwoods, etc. We spent a week here for our daughters tenth birthday. Our daughter and her friend never had a boring moment, bouncing between the pool, the badminton court, ping pong table and exploring the beautiful grounds. The staff and residents of the resort were very kind and friendly which made our stay very comfortable. We are looking forward to our next stay at this little slice of heaven. I really dont know how to review this place... There were goods and there were bads. Its really quite awkward when you are camping in a place where people actually live. There are a ton of campers, trailers, etc on the property. People live in these places full time. Then there is a tent area that people can camp in, as well as another site with hookups for an RV. The area itself is fairly clean. They have a ping pong table, a nice pool, and bathrooms that have showers. Overall, we were pretty happy with the facilities. The WiFi is horrible though. And it would be nice if they had paper towels in the bathrooms to dry your hands. We were stared at by some of the residents on a few occasions, enough to make us feel uncomfortable. This is part of the problem with camping in an area that people live. You disrupt their daily lives... One of our biggest complaints was that a few times during our stay, there was an overwhelming smell of marijuana. Once when were were by the pool, and other times we were at our camp site. Not sure if it was from other campers, the owners, or from the residents. But i certainly want to keep my daughter, niece, and nephew in a drug free environment. Not something they should be exposed to. Overall, this place isnt bad. It isnt spectacular either. The price is good, and its a good option if the neighboring camping areas are booked. read more

I'm so impressed by this camp resort. Our very large family camping trip needed this very space. We had 3 trailers, 1 adventure trailer, 3 rooftop tents and a bunch of regular tents. Lots of kiddos to run around that awesome center field surrounded by our group so we always had Birdseye view of them playing. The kids enjoyed the pool, ping pong table and volleyball net. The white peacock was interesting, not my hubby's favorite part of the place but sure sparked interest from the kids. Bathrooms were clean. Wish we had full hookup but I would take this group spot that allowed us all to be in such close proximity vs the sewage. We even got a visit from a banana slug which became a teaching opportunity for the kids. Pet friendly always a plus! Great campground - we were able to get a spot at short notice on a Saturday, and ended up staying for five nights. As others have mentioned, plenty of residents on the site, but all were friendly or quiet. Boulder Creek is a nice town - organic supermarket, bar with live music, ATM (this site is cash or check only) and restaurants - and the campground is maybe 15-20 minutes from Big Basin, with huge redwoods and nice trails. Clean showers and toilets (GREAT water pressure in the shower), and washing-up facilities. The WiFi was fine - but if you want fast WiFi, why not just stay at home? We had a lovely, relaxing time, the staff were super-friendly and helpful, and we'd definitely come back if we were in California. read more

Just a perfect place to stay in a safe, secure, friendly, and very clean place. The regular guests were helpful in adding some of the beautiful history to this place that dates back to to 1896. There is a pool that local lure says was built for Lana Turner, and of course there are the Redwoods. And if you like hiking and biking there are plenty of trails and parks nearby for you to enjoy.. But my favorite was going to Felton, just a skip and a hop away through the beautiful winding HWY 9,and hopping on the converted steam engine for a wondrous dream like trip to Santa Cruz... Well worth the the trip.! read more

We came for a nice weekend stay in gorgeous Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park when we realized that everything was booked out. The only place which wasn`t was the Redwood Resort, now we know why. The place is nothing special, a little too open in my opinion. There were 3 male toilets: 1 was blocked, 1 was out of paper and trashed and the other one had excrement traces all over the seat. I didn`t check the shower. We stayed at spot #8 right on the fence next to the resort neighbour. Those guys wouldnt stop watching (action like) movies until 7am the next morning with their surround speakers tuned up. Next day we tried to explain this very unhappy situation to the camp host but she couldnt help us at all. The camp manager, who didnt even come personally, was very rude and accused us of trying to make profit out of it (we only asked for a discount, not even for paying everything back). After he got really lound and rude he just ended the phone call by hanging up. I wouldnt feel comfortable and safe to come back with my family. PS: there was another family with two kids right next to us who left very early and very mad because of this noise as well. read more

This is a beautiful RV park, it is in the middle of groves of redwood trees! Imagine opening your door onto these beautiful giant trees. The bathrooms were immaculate, the pool was great! It is a quiet, lovely getaway. read more
