We did not have a bad experience at the fault of the resort ...but this is more of a reminder to ask for more details when booking.. We are traveling in a new 40' motorhome and the 20 amp service was not adequate. We not only felt awful having to turn the rig on in the night and early morning and run the generator non stop... it was very hard on our systems. Our refrigerator and water heater would not operate. Thankfully the shower facility was nice & clean with plenty of hot water. We felt terrible for the poor campers stuck next to us in tents but the alternative was losing a months worth of food in our freezer. The site itself was perfect and private. Also heads up if you're driving a larger rig be sure you fuel up long before you get into this area as you won't fit into any of the small stations near by. Overall good experience but definitely not suitable for anything large ie: 5th wheel, super class C or A

Amazing camping experience! The resort gives you a true redwood forest ambiance. The camping area is grassy and tree lined. Bathrooms are very clean and they provide a dish washing station. I did not want to leave. The service was great! Staff kept making sure we were doing well. I will be back with all my family.

Great weekend tent camping at Redwood Resort RV Park. Professionally run, clean and organized. Cash/check only, so we were a little nervous that our phone reservation wouldn't be found... but no problem. We rolled up Friday and they had us down in their book. We stayed under the redwoods with our three dogs and loved it, but saw the families with kids camp and play in the big meadow. Kids also enjoyed the pool and ping pong table. Standing charcoal BBQ's and picnic tables at every site. No campfires due to fire risk. Thought we would miss this but we really didn't. Clean shower and bathroom. Quiet at 10pm - good sleeping! You wanna party all night? Not your place. You wanna be camping alone in the remote wilderness? Not your spot. You want a clean, organized, family-friendly place to camp then go to this RV (and tent) Park. Campers were a mix of families with young kids and teenagers, couples and a few groups of friends. Very dog friendly - they gave our pooches dog biscuits for good behaviour. ; ) Close enough to walk to Boulder Creek which has several cute restaurants, bars, grocery stores (including organic) and hardware stores. 20min drive to Santa Cruz. Spacious camp sites, tent and trailer. Very nice hosts. I was so lucky to find this place. I had to boondock the Friday night before in Monterey because I couldn't find an available campground anywhere. I left a message and they called me back first thing in the morning and said, "Come over!" No early arrival fee. I requested a spot in the shade and my site was wonderful. Got a couple good showers and a dip in the pool. There's a white peacock named Albert who visits often. Quiet and night and peaceful the entire time. "Bee" is incredibly kind and helpful. She went out of her way to help me with a couple things. I'd go back in a minute. Cash only, but there's probably an ATM within a half mile in Boulder Creek. I'd like to stay longer next time.

What a great find!! Have visited this area many times and had no idea this place was there. Very well run, quiet, clean restrooms, efficient check-in and yes, cash or check only. Our rv site was huge, right next to the pool, although this time of year (winter) it was not open. The only down side was 20 amp service which was the only one available so was careful running one appliance at a time. As previously noted, some full time residents live there but those sites are neat and clean and residents very nice. Even had a white peacock walk through the campground!!Just a short walk to town where gas and groceries are available. Short drive to Santa Cruz Boardwalk, wineries and State Parks! Don't miss this jewel in the Santa Cruz Mountains!

Great space that fit our group!

I'm so impressed by this camp resort. Our very large family camping trip needed this very space. We had 3 trailers, 1 adventure trailer, 3 rooftop tents and a bunch of regular tents. Lots of kiddos to run around that awesome center field surrounded by our group so we always had Birdseye view of them playing. The kids enjoyed the pool, ping pong table and volleyball net. The white peacock was interesting, not my hubby's favorite part of the place but sure sparked interest from the kids. Bathrooms were clean. Wish we had full hookup but I would take this group spot that allowed us all to be in such close proximity vs the sewage. We even got a visit from a banana slug which became a teaching opportunity for the kids. Pet friendly always a plus! The beautiful tall redwoods provided such perfect shade for the unusual warm/hot temperature we had this weekend. Thank you for being so friendly and accommodating Redwood Resort!

This is the official mascot of the Redwood Resort and the surrounding area. His name is Albert.

We took one of the nearby trails accessible from the campground that led to cable car beach which is fed by eagle creek. One side of the hike was beautiful with views of Santa Cruz and an observation deck and the other shady with trees. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Only downside was a campsite full of younger people were next to us and kept talking loudly until maybe 12:30 a.m. Camp hosts are supposed to keep those things in check and it was not dealt with. And as it was a chilly night, we didn't want to get out of our tent to go ask them to keep it down. I would if in the future I come to this campground alert the host ahead of time of a potential problem before retiring so they can be aware to check on it. Otherwise, this is an excellent campground near to Santa Cruz and many trails and the skunk train that takes you into Santa Cruz.

Nice little walking trail by the creek. Overall very quiet with occasional road noise but not much at all. They also will fill your propane and drop it off after you drop off to them. Lots of trees which is probably great in the summer. Cons: Full timers give the RV park a different feel, there's none of that fellow camaraderie you find at most RV parks. Many full timers have sheds and storage of their belongings outside their RVs and makeshift porches that give the place a run down feel. Gravel sites could use some upgrades as ours had a deep hole that could have been an ankle twister so we had to keep a chair over it so we didn't step in it. Entirely canopied, easy and well kept but a steep trail. Heard owls at the top near Big Ben, a squirrel, few birds and some grasshoppers. Otherwise pretty quiet. Fall Creek had steady water flowing and a tiny waterfall at the time of my visit. Pups are NOT allowed here. Less visited old growth forest as the trail is continuous elevation down to Fall Creek and back up to Big Ben. A couple of crossing to HC Lime Kilns where the lime was used to rebuild SFO post 1906 earthquake and to Lost Empire. Signals were virtually nonexistent and the BBT is NOT marked! I took pictures of the Trail descriptions and maps prior to and that was helpful. Go with someone who is familiar with these trails or download descriptions and good trail mapS. Felton Empire Rd runs through it. There is NO parking lot or any signs to per se. Once you find the trail, you can park on the shoulder. About 3 to 8.4 miles hike depending on the trails (partial loop) you choose with little to ~1500 ft elevation if you hike to Big Ben and entire loop (8.4 miles).
