5-STARS FOR SEACLIFF STATE BEACH! Home from our beach day…read moredate, and I have to say... this beach was BEACHING! Today was exactly what we needed--relaxing, mood-boosting, peaceful, and simply enjoyable. Sometimes a day by the ocean really does feel like a reset button for the soul. We arrived early, chose our spot wisely, and settled in for the day. The weather was absolutely perfect! The waves were crashing and hugging the sand like a long-lost friend. The birds were birding (including one beautiful little feathered friend whose name I couldn't remember--and unfortunately, I couldn't get a picture either ‍). The dogs were out there pupping around in the water, happily retrieving balls and sticks their humans tossed for them. And the kids were everywhere--playing, splashing, laughing, and having the absolute BEST time in the sun. One of the things I really appreciate about Seacliff State Beach is how accessible and accommodating it is. Beach accessibility Handicap parking available Clean restrooms Working showers Clean changing rooms Covered picnic areas Pet-friendly amenities, including dog bowls with clean, fresh water And the parking is very reasonable at $10 for the day, with seniors receiving $1 off. That's a pretty great deal for spending an entire day at the beach! We even got lucky enough to see dolphins swimming by! We also spotted a healthy seal enjoying the water. Unfortunately, we did see another seal on the beach that appeared very lethargic and remained there for much of the day. That part was heartbreaking to see. I sincerely hope someone was able to get the appropriate wildlife professionals involved. And then there was our little tent adventure. Packing it up was easy enough... until we tried getting it back into its bag with the wind fighting us every step of the way! So we decided to bring it home and fold it back up in the garage where Mother Nature couldn't interfere with our packing skills. After a full day of sunshine, fresh ocean air, good food, beautiful scenery, wildlife, and just enjoying each other's company, we came home feeling relaxed, refreshed, and grateful. And if you know the area, Seacliff State Beach is also conveniently close to some great local spots, including Manuel's Restaurant, Marianna's Ice Cream Parlor, and Snow White's, just to name a few. WOULD ABSOLUTELY VISIT AGAIN! Seacliff State Beach checked all the boxes for us: accessibility, amenities, family-friendly fun, pet-friendly spaces, beautiful scenery, and a perfect place to spend a relaxing day by the ocean. The beach was beaching.The birds were birding.The waves were waving.The dogs were pupping.And we were just grateful to be there. Sometimes you don't need anything fancy. Parking is $10 but if you come late in the day, there's no parking in the lower lot. I parked in the upper lot and walked down the long step of stairs. It wasn't too bad. The view was incredible especially with the sunken ship. It used to be a restaurant and entertainment venue. However, the pier leading to the ship is long gone. There is a visitor's center where you can buy gifts and also learn the history about Seacliff State Beach and also look through a telescope to see the sunken ship much better. The beach was very packed and if you're going there to relax and swim, it's the best place to do so. There's not much to do around. There's no restaurants or shops next to the beach but that's fine because it keeps it natural. There was still a lot of damage to the parking lots and parts of the beach from previous floods and storm damage. There are plenty of bathrooms along the beach but bring your own soap and toilet paper because there isn't any. Overall, it was a nice beach and good place to relax and frolic in the sand and water.

Everyone was very friendly. Not many amenities, but we had our full hook-ups and use of the bathroom facilities which is really all we needed as we were out most of the time. The park is super close to downtown which was a plus. We had issues with our power as we had to convert from 50 to 30amp, but I think our rig was just too powerful which is not the parks fault. Everything else was great! We were told there is a cool hiking trail and creek but we did not experience that for ourselves. Definitely a cute little spot to stay close to town!

So last year my wife was diagnosed with cancer, so this year we decided to make the annual group camping trip a little easier by renting an rv. We rented a camper and arranged to have it dropped off to the campground, something the company had done regularly in the past. Unfortunately, a few weeks earlier, New Brighton started somewhat inconsistently requiring tow vehicles to be present at the campground at all times. I say inconsistent as it seems there are many campers at sites without tow vehicles present, and I am not sure why employees of the RV company we used, Alfredo and Roberto, had the lady at the gate so upset with them when so many other local campers seemed to have no issues. This afternoon, when Roberto was trying to drop off our camper at our campsite, she got so upset she threatened to call the police on him. I have some theories as to what might motivate the inconsistent treatment of visitors but I won't speculate openly. At any rate, with the camper denied entry, we dropped off our food at the campsite, which looked well maintained, and locked it in the generously sized bear locker for our friends before regrettably heading home - our weekend trip ending before it started. If you plan to camp here you should either plan to have your tow vehicle never leave, bring a drivable RV, or hey, maybe just not get the rules enforced on you because you were luckier than Alfredo or Roberto.

Our neighbors were talking until 3:00 a.m. and we could hear them so we told them to quiet doen. But honestly this happens so frequently at many campsites so I'm not upset. The highlight is the pool and the hot tub. Thank you so much to the owners and managers who actually heat both of these to a comfortable temperature. It seems like this is so rare these days. The pool is about 80 degrees. And the hot tub was piping! Loved it. The rec room is fun too. The kids loved air hockey, connect four, and the arcade game with hundreds of options. This place is near some of the best Cambodian and Thai food we've had (Jia Tella). And a very short drive to a safe way and nob Hill market. Very nice stay.

The design of the sites were well thought out (even though the asphalt pads were a bit small) there was still plenty of room between the sites and easy access to the Full Hookups. The property was very clean, well manicured landscaping, and the amenities, i.e., Laundry Room, had plenty of machines that were both clean and well maintained. In addition to the excellent property features, we were equally impressed with the property manager, Sjarifah. She was very friendly, professional, and displayed excellent customer service skills, all while multitasking (working the office and facility grounds). Sjarifah is definitely an asset to the park and represents company well. In fact, I made it a point to thank her before our departure for her hard work, professionalism and overall kindness. Sjarifah is Definitely The Gold Standard of Customer Service. If we were to visit the Santa Cruz area again and needed a resort to lodge at, we would definitely choose the Santa Cruz Ranch RV Resort.

The spots are very close to each other, but this is a small campground, maybe 50 spots. The KOA person guided us into our spot, made it easy because if it was just me and the wife... well you know! Moss landing is an old fishing town, very small, abut very historical and interesting to walk around. The ocean beach is walking distance from the campground. I will return to this place, very safe and very secluded. Nice clean laundry room, landscaping is beautiful, location is in a very secluded area in the farming community. Very tight spots, you are really close to your neighbor. But that's OK, this is a place you stay at, and go out during the day to see the sites around the area. There is no stores or restaurants in the area. Only one deli (which is really good but only open to 3pm). So you will need to have food and supply with you.

The other levels, journey, destination and resort are increasingly fancy, but generally have some kind of market, a cafe or restaurant, pools, jacuzzis and the like - more so at the higher levels. Well, this one was a fraction of the size of most of those. it was very well kept, nice level paved sites, excellent bathrooms - two full bathrooms, where you get your own toilet, sink and shower and door It's essentially located right in the harbor, there's a gate that will get you to the docks. Including all the whale watching boats . A bunch of sea lions were my neighbors on a rock on the other side of the fence. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance as well, so that makes up for not having one on site

I like to rough it a bit more in a tent with a more natural setting. This place gets packed on weekends and I found the spacing to be too dense. Like neighbors all around 360 and just within feet of each other. But ya know what this is a gripe from a tent camper who chooses places based on spacing and density. Also every RV camper is used to this style of camping. They prefer convenience over solitude, to each their own. I will say that for as packed as this place gets, the campers are all good natured and considerate. No loud after hours noise/partying, no blaring of music and I didn't even hear any buzzes from a generator. Kids playing all over the place, which I love to see. The park offers great services like they'll deliver firewood or a fire pit to any site. They have a general store up front and the grounds are immaculate. There are bathrooms with showers if one didn't want to use the RV version. And the clincher for me on why I would recommend this campsite to anyone interested are the aesthetics. Their name truly is accurate...they are dead smack in the middle of a redwood forest. Even the dozens of monster RVs that are there are all in the shadows of a majestic redwood forest. There's even a nice creek that flows through the resort where people can wade, play and relax. Even though not my cup of tea, I can still acknowledge and appreciate what this place brings. And I'm glad it is there for others.

There's is a nice clubhouse with a kitchen area, sofa and games such as fooseball and shuffleboard. Several board games as well. The deck has plenty of tables for eating or just hanging out. The San Lorenzo river is right there and just beautiful. Easy to walk down to the river. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I love their little store- it has the right amount of miniature basics and there is also ice cream pints and the most delicious ice cream sandwiches. The other bonus is that you can burn a real wood fire at night! Will definitely keep coming back!
