April 18-21, 2025…read more Thought I'd update my review, since it's been almost 8 years! since my prior review. We stayed in one of the sites with water and electricity. I believe there are only 10 or 11 sites with hookups; the rest have no hookups. Even though they don't have hookups, I prefer the sites on the bluff overlooking the ocean, but those are almost impossible to get these days. It's competitive out there when trying to make reservations. We were very happy with our large grassy site with beautiful trees and lots of birds. The sites at this campground are a nice size; it's great to have your own space. Unfortunately, our luck was that there were several big groups of campers here together, and they tended to gather at the campsite near ours. Lots of kids, scooters, bikes, barking dogs, etc. Just families enjoying each other, but it was rather lively. The campground seemed like a different world after these groups departed. Peaceful, even. There is a bit of road noise that you can hear from some of the sites depending on their location; but at night it is quiet enough to hear the owls hoot. There are two trails down to the beach; the one that was closed on my prior visits was open. It's quite a climb, but worth every step. Dog-friendly beaches are always a huge plus in my book. Also a plus is that there are four dump stations ($10). I'll definitely come back--I'll keep trying; someday I might actually get one of those premium sites on the bluff again. Note of caution - if you have a tall rig, some of the trees on the road to the campsites were in need of trimming, so you need to watch carefully. Easy does it. Also, the garbage trucks come through at 6:00 in the morning. Really? At a campground? ....... So if you like to sleep in...forget it.

I enjoyed seeing the ocean and my kids love playing on the beach, but I wanted to highlight the Visitor Center. So Seacliff State Beach has a nice little visitor center/museum, it's small, but it's actually full of great info, and it's free. It gave me a whole new appreciation for that boat wreck (the SS Palo Alto) at the end of the dilapidated pier out there right on the beach. There was a ton of historical artifacts, documents, and pictures all providing great info on what happened, why, and how it all went down w/the SS Palo Alto. They even had a video about S.S. Palo Alto and you can look at it through the telescope. Pretty cool stuff. There were also excellent exhibits on the geology and wildlife in the Monterey Bay ecosystem in general and at Sea Cliff Beach in particular. So much to learn from this little place, my kids had a blast b/c a lot of the small exhibits were hands on. They also got a kick out of the "stuffed animals" i.e. the taxidermy of local bird which were well done and really allowed for literal close-up looks at the birds in this marine region. Neat for those of us who like science generally and marine biology and animals specifically. Finally, there's a gift shop in there too, if you want to pick up a book about this region, some souvenirs, or send a friend a postcard from your trip here and the prices were all reasonable. People who worked here were friendly, informative, and helpful. We'll plan to visit again, hopefully soon.

Worth every single penny! You may think what they charge is expensive but try and rent a Atv or Utv from the businesses in Pismo and you'll realize how reasonable their prices are. The best part is you have it for as long as you want. No, oh shit I gotta have the rental back in 10 mins nonsense. Most of the ATVs and UTVs you rent on the beach are beat up, rusted and in horrible shape; hours of abuse from inexperienced riders and salt water take a toll on the equipment and it shows. I know because we do yearly trips to Pismo and I've always rented from Arnie's or Steves ATV. Not to knock them because they are friendly people, but their equipment just sucks. ‍ I picked up OCRVs CanAm and it was flawless!Clean, and ready to rip. I also walked around their place and saw that the rest of their rentals. They're all updated and clean. Not like the other places TBH. I will definitely come back here EVERY SINGLE YEAR from now on. Keep up the amazing work and awesome customer service. Me, my family and friends will definitely be back soon! You guys f***kin rock!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!…read more I'm concerned that this company generates More revenue from charging people for damage, than actual rental services. There was superficial aesthetic scratches as you can see in the photo. We were told, that these tiny scratches are worth 25% of the entire cost of the part ($1400). Do you think these scratches justify 25%? In reality, it's more like 0.1% of the cost. --so how many customers will they do this to? 10? And reap a 250% return on this part? -HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS. I'm all for paying for damages but this is ridiculous. The money maker is charging customers for cumulative replacements. You're NOT SUPPOSE TO PROFIT OFF DAMAGE CHARGES. Or is that the entire point of this business? If you've been ripped off by this business, please reach out, as we may be interested in class action litigation.

I like to take a break once in a while and get outside to clear my head...or destroy printers with a baseball bat like those guys from Office Space. When I do get out, I like to take a walk in Arana Gulch. Arana Gulch is a rich habitat of wetlands, live oak forest, and coastal terrace prairie that is quite literally in my backyard. Trails run through the open space from either Agnes Street to the north or the Santa Cruz Harbor from the south. Hiking and biking are allowed on the primary trail north to south, but the real beauty is in the loop that encircles the prairie and that's only open to hikers. When you walk here, you're instantly transported to a natural wonderland full of ancient oak trees that grow over the trail. Spring is a perfect time to visit Arana Gulch as amazing wildflowers are in bloom all over the prairie in whites, pinks and purples. You'll definitely never be alone here. This space is well used by hikers, walkers, bicyclists, dog owners, birdwatchers, homeless folks who camp nearby and some kids who like to smoke "the pot". If you search the bushes hard enough you might find some interesting things. On a recent walk I saw tighty-whiteys hanging from a tree branch, a full tent setup in the underbrush, and someone's water supply. The best find ever however was when I was 10 years old and my friend and I found a whole stash of porn mags on the bluff overlooking the harbor. That was seriously a good day. Anyway go to Arana Gulch, you'll never know what you'll find.

She had such a bubbly, playful personality and kept the energy up the entire time. She was cracking jokes, making everyone laugh and just had a way of making the group feel comfortable and engaged. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does and it made a big difference. The tour itself is on the shorter side which was about 30 minutes and the area isn't huge, which explains the lower ticket price, but honestly it was still a fun little experience. She gave us a heads up about possibly feeling dizzy or nauseous, and I actually did feel that way in the cabin, which was wild to experience firsthand. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area, and if you can, I'd absolutely recommend asking for Cassidy because she's what really makes it memorable! Thank you Cassidy!
