I have specialty orthotics and struggled wearing the wrong shoes with them which meant they added little comfort and I had no clue why. I usually take hours shopping for shoes and can't find something satisfactory. Bev, working there, asked me if I needed help and I gave her the rundown with the expectation that she wouldn't be much assistance as has been the case in every other store. Instead, she blew me away by finding the perfect pair of shoes I needed. The second I tried them on my jaw dropped due to the comfort. She explained to me exactly why my current shoes didn't help (they weren't built for orthotics at all!) I was out of there in 20 minutes. Anyway I'm very happy. They train their staff well and ensure that they are familiar with the kinds of product they sell (she explained to me that's how she knew so much). A very worthy store of your dollars.

However, this Winners looked new to me. It's a part of a Winners-HomeSense superstore. I haven't visited Aurora as often as I used to that this store has been around since late 2022. I had no problem finding a parking spot on a busy Saturday afternoon. This store is located at Smartcentres Aurora North, on the south side of Aurora Road, west of highway 404. I parked further away and walked in. Purses greet you when you walk in. It took me a while to leave this area. There were purse-toque sets, puffy purses, a cute bowtie one that you could also use as a self-defense weapon, convertible handbag-to-laptop bag, and more. I like that this store had a lot of Brookstone items. I love this stateside brand. I saw everything from ankle socks (who knew?), to floating cloud lamps. I saw the cutest mini humidifiers. One was a steamed dumpling. I travel with one that does not have a cup. I had to buy this one. The nail section is strong. I liked everything. Polish. Stickers. Wraps. The prices were right and I felt like I had lived in this section. The footwear section made me happy. The selection of women's size 11 footwear was incredible. I could even get the shiniest puffy boots to blind folks when the sun hits them. Awesome! This store has a lot of novelty items, too. You can find boxers and socks with Hershey's, Doritos, and more branding them. I also saw a Care Bears phone holder. It was heavy, though. What did stand out was mood lighting. Besides the floating clouds, there were snails, cats, bears, koalas, and more. It was fascinating. I liked seeing a diner jukebox that was a radio. I remember going to Lime Rickey's at the Eaton Centre as an undergraduate student and enjoying playing tunes on the jukebox on the table. I bought a couple of items. Both Winners and HomeSense share the same checkout area. I had the nicest man there. He scanned by TJX Style+ card's barcode. I then paid with a credit card. It was easy tapping to pay. I thanked him and carried my items to my car. This Winners is cool, as it is the connected HomeSense. You don't need to exit one store to get to the other. It's seamless walking between the two, to the point where you can barely tell that you've crossed over in a good way. =) (423)

There's plenty of parking for both of these stores. I don't know if it's just me, but these stores look larger. In total, we spent almost an hour wandering around both stores, but we could've easily stayed much longer. It seems that there's always a long line to check out at any Winners, and that was the same case here. Thankfully, the line moved at a decent pace.

My friend and I dropped off our shoes for store owner Vahid on a Wednesday. He had a customer at…read morethe time but was quick to assist us as soon as he was done. Our shoes include a range of men/women shoes: Gucci loafers, Ferragamo loafers, Hermès sandals, Louboutin loafers, YSL Chelsea boots, Alexander Wang ankle boots and some other pairs of shoes. Most shoes are damaged at the bottom where the wood panel, leather bottoms or heels are wore out. One pair is more severe as the leather is detached from the sole. Vahid has done a fantastic job to give new life to the pair by patching some leather and reattaching the leather to the soles without much trace at all. Vahid is professional as he not only quickly identified the problems with each pair, he is also helpful in advising us how the shoes can be repaired and offering options for us to choose. Some shoes require new fully protected bottoms whereas some can last with just protected heels. Vahid chooses the best color to match the original shoes' bottom so that the layer is unnoticeable from the side. Overall we are very happy with Vahid's professional work!

My old suede boots were very worn out and part of the sole of the boot came off. I looked up the…read morereviews of this place and took my boots there. They said the glue of the sole to the boot was really old and has expired and needs to be re-glued. I told them that they were given to me by my late mom and I am from out of town and I had to get them fixed. Normally it would take them a few days, but they were so kind that they expedited the repair and I was able to pick them up within a few hours. I am so impressed with Professional Shoe Repair. They are quick, and did an impeccable repair job. I highly recommend!

What is really cool is the staff has been there for a long time and recognizes you when you go in. It is the perfect store for women 30+. Everything is colour coordinated, from the clothes to scarves to jewellery everything is presented boutique-style. They sell purses (guess) shoes, and a small area is dedicated to men's clothing. The store is located in a plaza on the east side of Yonge, so there is lots of parking. There is always specially priced clothes in racks outside the store. Trust me when I say you shouldn't pass it up. I have found many treasured pieces there. At the end of the season Cheryl the owner reduces her clothes by 50%. She sends out emails to her regular shoppers so you get first dibs on the sales. Staff are always friendly and you feel like you just want to go there and hang out. I highly recommend you check them out.
