7/15/2017 My family and I booked two trips with Reelax Charters, one was a full day offshore trip and the other was a four hour shark charter. Both trips yielded the results we were hoping for and we all walked away completely satisfied with the decision to book with Cpt. Corbett and Reelax Charters. With the all day trip, we boarded just before the sun came up and set off almost immediately for our fishing grounds. Captain John and first mate Charles had everything prepared before our arrival so there was no unnecessary waiting around at the dock. On the way out, John pointed out some local sites while offering information regarding the boat, target species, fishing techniques and held conversation which made the trip out go by much faster than expected. Once we reached some marked locations, Charles was quickly on task of casting out lines and getting us set for a day of catching fish. And catching fish is exactly what we did. Mahi, Mackerel, Amber Jack, along with some bait species (false albacore) were quickly filling up the ice box. The captain and first mate were filling us in on what fish were best prepared and which ones were better suited for using as bait. Although the weather was not as cooperative as we had hoped, the captain did a fine job keeping us in as calm of waters as Mother Nature would allow. Overall, the full day trip was a success and we are looking forward to booking again. The following day, we set back out on a trip that targeted sharks. We boarded the same boat, this time with Captain Corbett accompanied again by first mate Charles. Again, we were quickly off to our first target location with little time spent sitting at the dock. Much like the day before, the ride out was full of conversation and passed quickly. Once bait fish were located via the vessel's electronics, Charles took to chumming the area and dropping lines. Although the water was not as rough as the day before, my wife was feeling ill (she had not accompanied us on the first trip) and we needed to head back to calmer waters. At this point, with no sharks on the boat and us heading back in, I admit I was a little disappointed. However, Corbett and Charles' experience and time on the water paid off in droves. They took us to an area with nearly flat waters and in only minutes from stopping my brother was fighting a shark on the end of his line. Soon after getting his catch onboard, my father's reel began screaming as something large took off with his line. Keep in mind, my father is not a small man by any means and he was having a difficult time wrangling in whatever was on the other end of his line. After a solid fight, Dad pulled a large ray up to the surface and alongside the boat. Charles quickly went to work removing the hook and releasing the ray back into the water while our shark was "reelaxing" in the ice box. Again, smiles were on everyone's faces as we headed back to the dock. A few things to note from my personal experience (some of this may be posted on their site as well). Pack plenty of drinks, snacks / lunch, and sunscreen. Although the captain offered to share what he had brought, plan ahead and make sure that your entire party has what they will need for the length of trip you are taking. There is ample room on the boat to store a cooler for whatever you need to bring. If you are prone to motion sickness, take the necessary steps to medicate well in advance so that you can enjoy the entire trip. Do not expect the Reelax to be a luxury yacht. It has the amenities that are required to catch fish and have a blast doing it, nothing more, nothing less. The price that you will pay with this group is far below the average (from my experience in searching) yet the service and experience ranks highly in my opinion. Both captains were experienced and knowledgeable and the first mate was likely one of the hardest working guys on the island. My son and I went out with Capt. Corbett and Brad and had a fantastic time. They both took the time to explain everything that we should expect as well as what was going on during the trip. We'll definitely come back and do it again! read more

Just finished our 2nd trip with Reelax and Captain Brantley! Wonderful service, great experience and caught some fish too! This year we had Aaron helping our boys catch! Such a great trip making memories! I'm sure we'll be back! read more
