Ollie went over our project in great detail about what I wanted done and what additional details they would do to make the job just right. He gave me a written quote with line-item details. Prior to painting, they pressure washed the entire house including the brick and chalked all the gaps. The crew masked the windows and brick, painted and detailed the trim. Kevin, the project manager missed a little on the paint estimate but was right on top of getting more. No delays. The best surprise is our porch ceiling. We thought it was so bad it should be just painter over. But Ollie said we should stain it. I was very happy with all the little details Fresh Coat took care of. We're very happy with our job and will definitely call them on future jobs.

First: They are great communicators. I got my quote in a very timely fashion. Before they show up, they let you know they are coming. And when they say they are coming, they actually do. I had a complex painting color scheme for the house. They executed it to my specifications and they were super flexible when I changed my mind on a few things. They work fast and efficiently, but also did a good quality job. To me, this means they are professionals. Every painter was friendly and customer service oriented. I had some follow up items from the job...they came back and addressed every concern without pushback. And, the price was pretty reasonable. I'll be using them again next time around.

We were pleased with how quickly the work started and we were excited with the quality that we would receive. However, the end result was sloppy and unprofessional. It became apparent that Fritts didn't manage their time and it became a rush job. We trusted Brian and his team to finish the job and paid him, once we did a walkthrough and pointed out the various mistakes and touch ups. We contacted Brian and he assured us that the work would be completed as soon as possible. After four weeks and many canceled appointments, we were finally able to get Brian out to our home. We appreciate that Brian spent his own time fixing up the job as much as he could. Unfortunately, there were just too many mistakes for one person to handle. Brian is very nice and accommodating; we were just not satisfied with the end result.

Received an estimate on a Monday and mentioned that I'd get back with the 5 Star estimator on…read moreWednesday of the same week due to the fact that I was getting additional estimates. In the interim I had a few questions and reached out to my estimator, he asked how they compared to the other estimates, I said not the highest or the lowest. The estimator said that is where they wanted to be and asked if I had any questions. All seemed ok. 5 Star did their best to get the go ahead on the project and get on their schedule receiving their latest ask on Wednesday. I replied to the email quote on Wednesday evening and countered 5 star to reduce the total cost, ~4% less than the original quote and mentioned I'd pay cash vs card (very common for businesses to offer a 2 to 3% discount if paying with cash/check. My discount ask was reasonable.). Since it was later in the evening I mentioned I would follow up the next morning. Also sent a text message indicating I replied to the quote and call the next day, trying to be respectful of people's time away from work. Thursday morning arrives, I called a few times, left a message, 5 star did call back, missed the call, phone tag. Still I have not received a response to the email, voice mail or text from 5 Star regarding my counter offer. I sent another text restating the offer, finally I get a text back... stating "Unfortunately, we are completely booked out for our exterior projects this year. Five Star Painting". A simple NO would have been ok, but to disrespect a potential customer is unacceptable. Probably would have let it go after that, but I went their website to contact their main office to share my experience. To my surprise, as I opened their website, an ad appears stating 10% off if you book before 10/31 up to $500 off. This discount was not mentioned or indicated anywhere on the quote. Note: The discount I asked for was less than $500, once again undeserving of the estimators response. The final straw that led to this review happened as I started searching for other painting companies and a at least 3 different Facebook ads for 5 Star popped up, once again touting 10% off and that they have openings in their schedule. I told 5 star that if they did a great job on the exterior, I would have additional interior painting. While I wish this review pertained to quality of work, I can only respond to the poor quality of customer service and how not to treat a potential customer.

But worse than that, they taped opaque sheeting over the bedroom window--gave no notice they were doing so--and left it overnight. There is absolutely NO regard for who might be living in the residence. They left a large and very loud pressure washer running just outside my window (no painters in view) at 7:50 a.m. Pressure-washed (presumably--doesn't look any different than before) the wall outside my bedroom at 8 a.m. At 6:30, left all their garbage in the backyard. If I had a choice, I would NOT use this company. I will be taking it up with our Board.

They got to my job on short notice and finished quickly for a reasonable price. Very happy.read more

Julio from Premier Painting called me the same day I reached out, followed up by phone on day two, and showed up in person on day three with an estimate. That alone told me everything I needed to know about how he operates. The scope of work was substantial. He pressure washed the entire exterior, sanded and painted, repaired a window with broken trim, and patched concrete under the porch. The before and after photos say the rest. The transformation is genuinely dramatic. A few things stood out beyond the work itself. Julio refused any kind of prepayment and told me I could pay when the job was done. He was on site the day he said he'd be there, and the day after. The final bill matched the estimate exactly. My wife and I are not always that particular, but when it came to the deck on our new house we had many requirements that we know offered Matt a challenge. We love to be outside and plan (and do) spend a lot of time on our deck. Key requirements included: 1) Limited to no obstruction of view out our back windows. 2) Natural look and flow with wooded backyard. 3) Functionality (dining, grilling, entertaining). Matt was very attentive and responsive to our needs. He set expectations and from design through implementation of our deck Matt and his team put on quite a display of pride, craftsmanship, and professionalism providing our family an outdoor living space we know we will enjoy for many years to come. We had a couple of interviews with Matt where we were able to review our requirements and thoughts and Matt did a fantastic job in conceptualizing what we were looking for. He took measurements of the area behind our house and provided a handful of layouts using computer aided design software. We found a layout that was real close to what we thought would be best and worked with Matt on some refinements. Matt helped us determine that Tigerwood would be the best material to provide the quality, value and look we were going for. Matt came up with an awesome tier design that provided room for easy flow out of the house with a couple deck length steps down to a lower area. This layout provided for both functionality and a solution to limit obstruction to our view out of our house. We also decided to go with a black aluminum rail which also blends well with the woods as a back drop. Thomas Decks has many options for material, solutions, and ultimately a one of a kind outdoor living space. Matt set the tone for the project as a very dedicated craftsman who delivers a quality product with great attention to detail. There were just some things that this team does that display's quality. While the deck frame is your traditional pine, they used larger posts and joists. They added a little extra flare to the actual deck floor by framing it in and adding a couple rows of boards that run down the middle of the deck perpendicular to the floor boards. He poured a nice concrete pad where the steps come down which match the shape of the angled staircase. Considering the grade of our back yard he put in a couple small retaining walls and worked with us on putting in a few stepping stones. Thomas Decks does it all! Thomas Decks is who you will want to work with if you are pursuing a deck or outdoor space project. They delivered us a great design with personal touches, a fantastic looking and quality deck, and met all expectations and then some.
