My wife and I just joined this gym, not the personal training part, but their new gym on St. Rose, next to the hospital behind Tommy's Burger. This place is awesome, best gym we've experienced. They have just about everything you need and want. We've been members at Anytime Fitness, UFC Gym, Fitness 19, So Ho and a couple of other smaller gyms. The big name gyms were just ridiculously over crowded and that's not even bringing up the snails pace of fixing the equipment. This is definitely the best alternative to any of those gyms in this area. We drive from the southern highlands area and it's definitely worth the 15 minute drive. The owners are well informed and some of the most genuine people. They were completely up front about everything, including their expectations from us as members. I can't say enough good things about this new gym, I hesitated in writing this review because I would love to keep this gym a secret, but it deserves to be rated and acknowledged. I was skeptical at first when I saw all and pretty much only 5 star reviews for Refined Personal Training. I thought this can't be real. I decided to go and take a look for myself. I meet with Jeannette and she showed me around then asked me what my goals were. What did I want to focus on or achieve? Did I want to learn about how nutrition affects the body and weight loss or did I just want to exercise, or was my goal specific like training for a marathon, etc? She wanted to find out what I wanted so she could pair me up with the best trainer who could help me achieve my goals and make sure our personalities would mesh. I was told if my trainer and I were not working out I could see someone else no problem. They wanted me to be happy. I decided to give it a try. Jeannette and Josh the owners told me that it was more of a family environment than a gym and that is so true!! After about a month walking into the gym was like walking into the "Cheers" bar. Everyone knew my name and greeted me with a smile when I walked in. My trainer Braeden asks me often if I am happy with the way things are going and if I want to change any part of what I was doing. He constantly checks in to make sure I feel my goals are being meet. This has been the best experience I have ever had because now when I work out I am doing exercises that not only challenge me but I have learned new ones that I had never done before. (Braeden, thanks for the sled) When I am done with my workout I know that the session was productive to improving my health and helping me meet my goals. Braeden is awesome because he will adjust an exercise so I get the same results as the exercise he wanted me to do but I was unable to do because I have no balance or co-ordination skills. He is also excellent at challenging me. I told him he needs to push me and he does but he is also able to see when I have reached my limits. The cost is very similar to other personal trainers costs. Refined also works very hard at working with your schedule. The first day I went for my initial consultation I was very impressed with Josh's knowledge on the human body.
