If you want a place that puts their financial gain over the welfare of the children they are…read moresupposed to care for, this is the place for you!! After going for here for 3 years and having nothing but amazing experience with the hygienists who are all the sweetest and most patient people ever, Dr. Choi lived up to his reputation. Glad I had a warning and trusted my gut to get a second opinion. After my son had his bi-annual appointment, I was informed that there is some work that needed to be done that included cavities on two different teeth, a caries arresting treatment to one minor cavity and a stainless steel crown. All of which would total $1590. I was in shock that in six months time, so much work would be needed. Went to get a second opinion after the X-rays from Safari Smiles was transferred to the new dentist. The new dentist, after reviewing the SAME X-rays, found only a small cavity that she used the caries arresting treatment on. The tooth that Dr. Choi said needed a stainless steel crown on? Absolutely nothing wrong with it! The small cavity he did have was not on the tooth that was so bad Dr. Choi claimed needed to have the crown installed. Please do your kids and your wallet a favor and find another place that will put your kids first

We went for a yearly dental cleaning and the dentist told me my daughter needed 6 fillings in her molars and I should get it done ASAP. In order to schedule the procedure, you need to leave a $500 deposit. My husband and I asked decided to get a second opinion from a dentist that came highly recommended by a few friends. After examining her teeth and x-rays that safari smiles provided, he said he teeth are perfectly fine and she definitely doesn't have cavities! He also sadly says he sees a lot of dentists doing this.....JUST TERRIBLE! I immediately called safari smiles and canceled the appointment and got our deposit back without any issues, but I am appalled that they were about to drill into my 4 years old's teeth to make a buck! Do not take your kid here!!!!

Called up Dr. Zax's office and the appointment making process was pleasant and quick. That's where the positivity of this review ends. I also want to preface this review with the fact that I am NOT one of those people who is terrified of the dentist. I have never been afraid of any doctor. I spent nearly three hours at their office from start to finish. For a CLEANING! A Cleaning! Waited in the waiting room for a half an hour. Sat in the torture chair for an hour and a half. Waited another half an hour for the doctor to review the Grim Reaper's work. Waited ten minutes for doctor to get off of her cell phone. Listened to the doctor try to convince me for another ten minutes that I "might" have a cavity (I am 42 years old and have never had a cavity) and that I will need to come back and get it "fixed" for a few more hundred dollars. The rooms were freezing. Maybe they need to be, I don't know. The dental assistant proceeded to tell me everything that my previous dentist had done wrong in the last twenty years. Picked at my teeth with her mouth-hatchet for far longer than I've ever had anyone do in the past. My entire mouth was sore for two days (again, a first) and I had a headache for 24 hours after that appointment. The receptionist is very cheery. So thanks for that. Good music in the office too. Yeah, that's all I got.

I read positive reviews of Dr. Lalor and my fiend's children have gone to him. I called to make an initial appointment and told the office staff I did not want a rotating dentist every year and wanted Dr. Lalor. The staff told me no problem and gave me an appointment for mid July. Yesterday, they called and said he wasn't going to be in that week and said they could get me in with him tomorrow. I accepted the appointment. The staff who came out to get me and take x-rays was not welcoming or personable at all. They didn't tell me their name and just gave direction on where to go for the c-rays and the room to sit. No welcome to Lalor Family Dental, or my name is..., no it's nice to meet you. After the x-Ray, a dental hygienist came in and introduced herself and said she was helping out dentist "name" today. I corrected her and said my scheduled appointment was with Dr. Lalor. She left and came back and said he doesn't really come to this office and isn't available. I told her that is not what the office staff told me when booking. I told her it wasn't her fault, but I was told I could select the dentist I wanted and was told the appointment would be with Dr. Lalor. I left and will not return. The way I was greeted by staff and not being truthful about being able to select the dentist I wanted to see was enough for me to go to a more professional dental clinic.

My husband had a cap split n fall out. I called Corning Dental Associates for information re:…read morerepair and whether he could use his Insurance. The front desk person immediately stated that no decisions could be made because he wld be REQUIRED to have "full mouth xrays, a comprehensive dental exam and a cleaning/ hygiene appt". I started to explain that he has his hygiene, as covered by his insurance, biannually. She stated very firmly that he would be required to have hygiene performed. She repeated three times the RULES required before he could be seen for his broken tooth. Yes, its best For Xrays and a comprehensive exam being necessary. In addition to feeling bullied by this person, it kept going badly. I asked a simple question if whether they accepted insurance payments before we had to pay the bill. "No, he pays and waits for the insurance reimbursement" Soooo they can charge whatever they want and the patient gets "whatever". This phone interaction was the rudest communication I have ever had with a healthcare facility office. As an Rn myself, with a 50 year hospital career and currently working as a fill-in physicians office RN, this pretty much sounded like extortion of persons needing emergency treatment. I asked her twice why he was required to have cleaning despite having this done in our out of state location, she said it was a requirement. That alone would be 100% out of pocket. It was obvious that this dental office puts money as their first and only priority. We were referred by a friend who pays cash and has all her care at the dental associated location. No Thanks. As it is, we wld have to drive an hour in to Corning for care while dreading and assuming mistrust of this group. It felt like upfront extortion! My husband had tongue cancer, radiation to his tongue and full mouth xrays wld need to have been discussed and negotiated by a dentist! This front desk person never asked anything about my husband. Also, his chemo therapy caused significant deafness which was not a yopic I had any chance of mentioning. I was pretty much bullied, Amen Be careful using this group, there are others available with less glitz n glamor! We found another dental office that not only asked about my husband's dental history, they spent time explaining how they needed to know a lot more and yes, they bill insurance company first! Couldn't have been nicer!
