If you're in Lancaster County and love ziplining, go here! A Christian camp and adventure center, they open their campus to anyone. On a Friday afternoon, I booked their largest zipline experience with seven ziplines and three skybridges. Two guides- Kelly and Kayla- went along with me. Both were very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Since it was just the three of us and I'm an experience zipliner, the entire course was an hour. If you love Christmas, adventure and a challenge this is the place to go. Went on a Sunday evening, November 30,in memory of my mom's bday and sense of adventure. Decided to do the 1 Zipline through Christmas zipling, my third time zipling. After doing the zipling, realized their is nothing that beats the thrill, excitement and adrenaline rush. We were there with friends. The lights are beautiful. It's was refreshing to see the signs about our savior. Because that's the true meaning of Christmas. Jesus is the Reason For the Season. The staff that we spoke to were very friendly. It was our 1st time there. We will be going back again. It's not a drive through light show. You park and then walk around looking at the lights. This was my first time here with my church. I wasn't sure what to expect. But when I arrived I was very surprised at how beautiful the view was and how many things there was to do. Dining hall was very spacious. Every group or family is assigned a table. Then you line up and get your food. It's buffet style. The food was delicious. A+ food. You could tell it was freshly cooked. Not made from a frozen food company or anything like that. This was the menu for the weekend. Friday night we had beef and chicken tacos with the usual salad option. Saturday for lunch we had French fries (made from a potato not frozen), chicken patty, veggie burger and salad. For dinner we had mashed potatoes with beef flavored gravy, fish fillets, rolls and salad. For only fifty dollars you can go zip lining and do the obstacle course. I did the zip lining for the first time. At first I was scared because it looked higher than I thought. It's a great beginners course. A V shaped course. The instructors are awesome and give great instructions. They're super friendly. But I had a great time. Would definitely go zip lining again. I tried the obstacle course but it wasn't for me. They also have a small zoo where you can see Hawks, horses and an owl. The owl was my favorite. Such a cute little bird. (I'm from the city so I don't see owls very often) The hotel lodges are very spacious. Inside your room you have one bunk bed and two queen sized beds. A place to hang your bag or jacket, A sink, and a mini fridge. The bathroom is small but that's fine. You also have an air conditioner/heater. They have a cafe where you can get milkshakes and other snacks. Also a mini gift shop. Outside they have swinging benches and a playground. In the summer they have a big pool If you come with your church they have a chapel and a gym for you to worship and play games. You can also request to do a camp fire with your group or family. The trail was well lit, easy to follow and beautifully decorated with Christmas music piped in. We enjoyed following the Christmas story and I especially liked the trail with the Christmas reflection/prompts. We didn't do the obstacle course or zip lines, but will definitely do it next year. Great day trip ,fall adventure. This team was amazing. From first phone call, to everyone on staff we encountered. We arrived ,booked a package in less than 5 min. & were in harnasses 10 min later. These guys were great. Thoroughly explained to our family every step of the way. When one of my girls chickened out, they were patient & gave alternative runs. She is Autistic & they just kept rolling with our constant changing needs. Well worth the 50 minute drive. All staff was extremely friendly from greeters, office staff to the cafe employees, who had to clean up spilled hot cocoa with no attitude. The lighting tour was short, we just booked the drive through tour and got out and walked. My 5 and 6 year old were thrilled to play on the playground as it was lit up from the surrounding lights. We had hot cocoa and soft pretzels in the cafe. There were fire pits and you could split your own wood- my kiddos kept warm by running around ;) There was zip lines and overhead obstacle course looked like fun- just couldn't participate at this time with younger kiddos- older children/teens would enjoy this for sure! read more

I was there for a retreat with my church, and the facilities were pretty great! Lots of coffee to be had, good food at the dining hall, and very friendly staff. We didn't stay onsite, but heard good things about the accommodations from those who did. There are a bunch of super cute farm animals too, which you're allowed to interact with and even feed. Overall a good time, and I'd be happy to go back for another retreat! read more

My husband and I spent our 3 year anniversary here and it was perfect. The cabins are cozy and extremely quiet even though you know people are playing outside. There is no TV in the cabin which is nice so you can really disconnect yourself from technology for a bit and enjoy everything around you. They have many things to offer that are free and other activities at a charge. This is a really good getaway for families. The entire place is extremely kid/family friendly, clean, and safe. We did one of the zipline courses and it was really fun! The weather was perfect and our instructors were great. We definitely want to go back when we have kids. Exhilarating!! Recommend to anyone and everyone! I had the guides Matt and Ryan. They were so very patient with the scared, yet trash talking person that is me. They explained everything clearly and were knowledgeable. So very thankful for them. They helped make the entire experience so much fun. They don't even deserve 1 star. Spent $135 on this deluxe zipline and ropes course package. We arrived 15 minutes late and we were told that the ziplines and the ropes course were both closed for the night (so I paid $135 for 15 minutes?) Then they offered to let my kids try this "giant swing" (which is just a bungee harness tied to some trees so your kid can bounce around), and my kid gets stuck in midair and you can hear my son yelling, "the harness is stuck". So I insist that someone get my child down (after he struggled on his own for a good 5 minutes) and the staff was rude to me acting like it's my fault that their equipment got my kid stuck. Nothing at all like what the website described. What an awful waste of money and time. read more

I really enjoyed my weekend retreat here at Refreshing Mountains. The cabins are newly built and fully furnished. The cabins can accommodate up to 6-8 people comfortably. There are two bedrooms, one has a full size bed and the other has two bunk beds. There is a sofa/futon and also a chair which also reclines down to use for sleeping purposes. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, coffee maker, cookware, drinkware and cutlery and not the plastic cutlery lol. There were plenty of linen and also an iron. The food was pretty good at the dining hall and the staff was great. I would definitely like to come here again because my experience was amazing. read more

Although you can have fun at this place, the refund policy was disappointing. I purchased three tickets for around $200. My wife went first. Then, our daughter became scared and I had to stay with her on the ground. As a favor, we got issued a store credit for one and a half tickets (for the two unused tickets). While I could live with paying a penalty worth half a ticket for whatever inconvenience was caused, store credit of $100 will be unused for at least several month. I would definitely want to receive a refund to my original payment card. For this reason, I will be avoiding places that do not issue refunds to the original payment card. read more

We took a group of five on the Challenge Adventure Course, and are already planning to go back to try the Aerial Excursion Tour. It was worth every penny. Our guides Nolan and Ben were fun while still being professional and courteous, the equipment well maintained, and the course was great. Tim and Caster (our guides) did a fantastic job of keeping us safe, being encouraging for some of the scary moments, and making everything very very fun. Thank you so much to them for their skill and professionalism. We did the Challenge Adventure Course. It works like this... first you get strapped into your harness. Next you make your way up three flights of wooden stairs to the first platform. On the platform you get clipped in for safety, and the safety guidelines are explained. Once all safety guidelines are relayed and understood it's time to start. One guide takes a zip line across to the next platform while the other guide stays on your platform to help you get hooked in properly. You zip across to the next platform. Next up is the obstacles. You can take the left side (easier balance based obstacles), the right side (balance and upper body strength obstacles) or take the walking bridge in the middle which lets you skip the obstacles all together. The obstacles are no joke and they are difficult and scary. You are always strapped to safety harnesses, so there is no chance of falling, but at one point I walked across a log some 30ft in the air with only my own safety harness to hold onto. Once you get across the obstacles to the next platform, it's zip lines from that point forward. 4 more to be specific. Some are faster, some are longer, some are higher. The highest zip line is about 55 to 60ft off the ground. The final two zip lines go over a pond which is very cool. The last zip line lands you on the ground with some nice soft mulch to plant your feet into. All in all, I would say the experience was excellent and perfect if you aren't scared of heights and have an adventurous spirit. Good to know: Takes about 90m (we had a group of 6). Zip lines can be fast, and landings require some agility. GoPro helmet cam rentals are available. Keys, phones, wallets can be locked up by staff before you start. And finally, if you are brave enough, you can zip line hands free and even hang upside down for some of them. read more

Went for zip lining, and decided to enjoy the pool afterward. Zipline instructors were very safety-conscious but extremely personable, instilling much confidence and trust with our group. Foliage is thick, but several segments had great views. Once returned to the launch point, gear was returned, and we headed to the pool. The lifeguard in the office validated our reservation. While chatting about where to change clothes, a female employee approached us, demanding to know why we were at the pool. Although I clarified that everything was fine, she continued a self-sustained argument. Sadly, this uncomfortable behavior tarnished the sincere good work of each RM employee we had interracted with on our visit. read more

Great place to have a retreat with your church. CABINS ARE THE BEST PART OF THE CAMP!! They are very clean and new and makes the trip even more enjoyable. The main problem that I had with my stay was the food at the cafe. Not very good quality and it did not leave me satisfied. The price for a 3 day weekend was pretty high and I expected more from the food because of this. Your paying more for the cabin then anything else. Still had fun and enjoyed myself though. read more

I absolutely LOVE this establishment. From the pool, to the horseback riding lessons, to the zip lining, to the overall camping... everything has been wonderful. Due to covid we were limited to where we could go to have fun as a family. We ended up spending our summer doing every activity here and attending the pool at least 4 times a week. My teenager found out she was interested in horseback riding with Hannah, my seven-year-old decided she wanted swim lessons with such an awesome lifeguard and swim instructor Abby! And the park keeps my two-year-old super busy. Recently we scheduled ziplining for for Daddy daughter day. Apparently the website was malfunctioning, and I ended up scheduling a package that wasn't available anymore. Refreshing mountain called me and informed me that what I scheduled was not available anymore, and that they would be happy to upgrade me without any other charges. In August we had my daughter's birthday there. We rented the whole pool privately. They made sure they had lifeguards on staff. Everything else was up to me to decorate the way I wanted! We had the BEST TIME!! Between the slide, and the diving board, I can't even choose which my favorite is. If you want a nice, positive, Christian, outting or vacation, you need to come here. It was our first time zip lining with our 9 year old, from checking-in to our two instructors (which I can't remember both of their names I believe destiny was one) we had an amazing time zip lining it was a breeze the instructors were very talkative made us feel very comfortable also it kept your mind off of the height , also they were very patient with our son they didn't rush us since it was his first time he was a bit scared. The obstacle courses were easy at the first level once we got to the second level it was more use of your upper body strength. We highly recommend this beautiful place, We will definitely go back we already told all our friends and family! read more

This is our first time going to refreshing mountain for a family camp retreat. It was great the first day and we were told the rules and regulation. The facility and activities were so much fun. The rooms, lodging and cabins are beautiful and big. Everything was great. Until, we went to the pool. The lifeguards, specially 2 young teenage girls, were SO rude to our church. We weren't even being loud or rough. We had our church baptism service for 30mins and then immediately got kicked out bc the pool was not suppose to be open until 11am. We finished at 10:55am. WE HAD 5 MORE MINS LEFT. We had elderly and a lot of babies and it was so hot. The lifeguards were yelling at them for moving too slow AND telling us to get out of the pool area bc they had to open. We had bout 100+ members trying to get out in less than 5 mins. Are you serious? It was so disrespectful. It was unbelievably rude. I never experienced anything like it. They also had so many campground rules! I understand rules and regulations to keep the campsite clean, etc. but the staff took it too far. They were rude to everybody yelling at everybody who was not doing the right thing. We were reminded that we would be fined if we broke any rules. $50 to be exact. Lastly, when we were checking out, we had to load our cars, and apparently you are not allowed to have too many park cars in front of your cabin. There was only 2 cars and we weren't blocking the road. This old lady was driving in her golf cart and taking pictures of cars that were parked "illegally". No warning or anything. HOW ARE WE GOING TO LOAD OUR CARS AND CHECK OUT ON TIME?! There strict check out time was ridiculous as well. These people were not nice. They did not smile or say hi to anybody from our church. This was NOT a Christian friendly campground. I do not recommend churches to come here. read more

Site is well kept and beautiful, rooms are big enough to accommodate many people. However, staff are unfriendly, rude, and maybe even racist? Who knows. Who cares. They breathed down my fellow church members necks and were literally looking for a little violation of their rules just so they could yell at us. I was sitting on the ledge of the pool slightly past a red line that I wasn't even aware existed because it was so small, this red line was to keep people from being in the realm of where jumpers from the diving board might potentially land. A staff member abruptly came up to me with a over powering tone and said, word by word, "Don't sit on the red line. Do you not see this red line? *Points at the red line* That's what it's for. So you don't sit on it. You sit before it" (Even yelled at our dear little children). Definitely not going back here ever again! By the way, your food was disgusting. I'm not a huge daredevil but when I saw the chance to go zip lining, I was in. There was a deal on Groupon for a group of three to go zip lining so why not give it a try. It was a bit of a hike from Philly especially since traffic is usually pretty bad getting here. But we made it to our 3 pm reservations. The camp itself is nice and looks pretty fun. We passed bunks (like a real camp! I'm excited because I was never allowed to go to summer camp) on the way in. There was a water park/pool, a basketball court and a playground. Checking in was a breeze. We had two gentlemen guiding us through the zip lining tour. Super nice guys with fun personalities; they really helped calm our nerves. Myself and two girlfriends are afraid of heights and they talked us through. The guys were really thorough in explaining our safety and the equipment and off we went! The actual zip lining course was great, pretty relaxing zipping. The difficulty was the adventure course and climbing. It's optional but try walking across a wobbly log 50 ft in the air! We zipped from 5 different platforms and the guides were even nice enough to record my group zipping with an iPhone. Such a fun experience! I'll have to try the rock climbing wall next time. The only thing that sucks is the drive and the traffic. read more

I was very ecstatic to go to this place for a retreat. I found the area very calming, and the rooms (cabins and lodges) cleaner and nicer than past places I've been to. The kitchen staff were nice and friendly. However, I found other staff treating my church in a such a rude and arrogant manner. When I was in the process of choosing which obstacle course to go through for the zip line, the young man who was helping me, rushed me, in a demeaning way, to take the easiest route. As a first timer, I was very shocked for his lack of empathy and encouragement. In the other instances, I witnessed a kid from my church get scolded ,"can't you see this?! No diving" by the life guard, and my pastor getting "shooed" after our baptism ceremony. I saw the joy taken out from that child's eyes. I did not mind the rules. I just don't get how people can just treat others so badly. Where's your customer service? read more

Just celebrated an anniversary here and it was an awesome experience! The place is beautiful and staff exceeded all expectations. We started the day with the Challenge Course with Michael and Nolan as our guides, and then completed the Aerial with Nate and Katrina. Thanks to all of their coaching we made it out alive! I would recommend doing both courses in the same day to get the full experience. Each had different zip lines with speeds and heights that varied. To complete both courses it took about 4 hours. Next time we visit I plan on making a weekend out of it to enjoy the rest of the camp (pool, campfires, etc). Definitely will be back! read more

We did not stay there: we zip lined (The challenge option- 6 lines) I'm 31; went with 2 sister and friend my age. Definitely nerve wrecking at times for a first timer, but lots of fun. We were put in a group with 4 other people. If at any point we got nervous, we looked at the 6 year old in our group and trooped on. The 2 guides who we with us were friendly and made us feel safe and secure. The had great customer service skills. It took 1hr 45 mins to get through the who course. I would do this again, but on a warmer day! read more

I came up to Lancaster to visit some friends and we ended up going out here to zip line on a Monday. Perfect weather, no crowd and amazing staff. Sara, Matt and Aaron were super friendly, helpful and patient. These guys know what they're doing and you're guaranteed to have a blast. Obstacle courses were like a mini fun workout and the zip lines were fun. I'm definitely going back with my nephew, great place for kids, they have rock climbing walls too.
