I originally had a…read moreconsultation set up for Saturday (and had scheduled my day around making sure to be at my house during the scheduled time), and was called 1 hour ahead of the appointment to be told that Greg would not be able to make it on time. I understand that delays happen and wasn't super broken up about it, so I called the offices and had the appointment rescheduled for 3:30 on Sunday. Come Sunday, Greg calls to confirm the appointment. We confirmed that the appointment was made for 3:30, but I had a flexible schedule so I let him know that if later works for him then we could meet at that time, though the 3:30 time would also work if he preferred. He suggested meeting at 4, which was completely agreeable to me. Indeed, at 4 he came by and said hello while I was speaking with my tenants out front. The conversation was to inform them about a worker who would be replacing the locks in their apartment and to nail down some leasing details, so I told Greg I would meet him in the back yard shortly. At 4:05 (according to my phone), I went to the back and Greg was nowhere to be found. I circled the property looking, to no avail. At this point (approximately 4:07) I called his cell, and he very curtly informed me that I "made a mistake by making him wait", and to "not call the company ever again". In Summary: American Landscaping cancelled the initial consultation session for the originally scheduled day, was allotted another 30 minute extension for the rescheduled appointment, and then drove off without a word when I had the audacity to take 5 minutes to complete a conversation with my tenants. This behavior is confusingly unprofessional.

His prices are reasonable, especially in this day and age. He does tree work, landscaping, gardening and has other skills as well. He works hard and is personable and trustworthy. As with any tradesperson, be sure to fully communicate your goals, vision and project.

I used Dean Schaeffer's services, Local Tree Tech, for almost 1 year. He nicely performed some…read moretree trimming. His snow removal the winter of 2023-2024 was performed maybe 3 times because of the lack of snow needing removal. I had paid him in advance for the winter snow removal. That was a mistake that I shouldn't have made. Dean told me that he was going to compensate me for my large advance payment for snow removal that became unnecessary by pruning 2 front yard arborvitae and a backyard area arborvitae hedge for free. His performing that work kept being postponed by him. Then after 5 grass cuttings he decided to stop providing services for me claiming we were even up. Of course, we weren't since my arborvitae weren't pruned. Their pruning will have to be performed with another party. So, disappointedly I have lost money using his incomplete services. My mistake was that I trusted Dean. If you should use his services get everything in writing and don't make an advance payment to him. Make payments as the work is performed. Sadly, I can only give him 1 Star.

Instead her worker guys cleared out all of the plants I've cultivated - that needed time to reseed and also provide shelter to bees and bunnies over the winter. The workers were very considerate - and actually did an excellent job if a perfectly tidy yard is what you want. But it is not what I asked for. I still recommend their service. They were really responsive in timing, and thorough and skilled in the job. But be sure to get confirmation if there are certain needs you have asked for.

Andrew's been out to our home several times to give us advice on how to best care for our trees, landscape our space, and ensure we could enjoy our trees for years to come. This fall, Andrew and Ashley came out to prune our trees and take out a messy mulberry tree. They have all the equipment to reconfigure the hill but also experience to guide our decision making. We decided on three tiers or terraces. Weather only stopped them when it would have been worse to work on the hill than not. Rain, snow (not yet) but November weather didn't stop the progress. We are so happy with the outcome. November finish time meant we waited till spring while we made decision on plantings and yard art. Grab this team before they are reserved out too far. They used pavers and filled with decorative rock. They even built a draining system for the gutters to drain into and not flood the wall. Their expertise and dedication to the business is impressive.
