I wish there was a zero star rating. Please check out the attachments . Yoel didn't prioritize a new client and as a result I got fines from the tax department. I hired this guy because I was brand new to all of this since I started my own business. I dealt with him in March of 2018 and I still don't have my refund. In fact I got fines. Then yesterday he told me I need to call the Tax department, after several months. What an inconvenience and a demonstration of pure incompetence. Beware! Simply not the best. 8/7/18 update Also, I wanted to mention that I had 2 late cycles for my business account. (honestly clueless because I was brand new to all of this). That's why I came to see Yoel and asked for his help. I usually do my taxes on my own but with a new business I thought I needed his "expertise". Well guess what, I had 2 late fees (which was fine but would be better if he advised me. Never a great feeling when you see surprise charges on your account.) On the next (3rd) tax cycle, he was already my accountant and guess what! I HAD ANOTHER LATE FEE. He didn't do anything ON TIME and he didn't do anything about it. I called him several times and as you can see on the text message, he told me to call the tax department myself. WOW. I could've done everything on my own. The poorest customer service I've ever had. Then, today, August 7, he venmos me and dares to charge me. And claims that he's working for "free". You're not working for free, Yoel. You're working LATE. TOO LATE. In fact, you should be the one paying me a refund of your service fee and the late fee that I got from the tax department for the 3rd cycle. Please see new attachment (Venmo). Funny how this guy threatens and begs at the same time. 2 lessons learned. Lesson # 1 for small business owners: Before seeing an accountant just call the tax department. They will walk you through the entire process and will save you stress and money from people like Yoel. Lesson #2- don't trust this guy. read more

Yoel is a very efficient communicator and if you read the website clearly and provide what he needs you'll have a quick turn around. I contacted Mr. Friedman about filing a very straight-forward tax return (basically two 1099-misc forms). He asked me to send him some information/documentation by email and I did not hear back from him (despite several emails I sent him). I called him the day before the filing was due and he had clearly not even opened the email I sent him. Therefore I had to give him all the information, again, by phone. Moreover, I later found out by a letter from the department of taxation and finance that Mr. Friedman had done my taxes incorrectly and underpaid, for which I must now pay a fee. When I told him about this his reply was "I guess you gotta pay it. I´m sorry for the inconvenience". For this Mr. Friedman charged me $175. I would stay away from this guy. read more

Yoel set up an a Sunday appointment with a few days notice, which is greatly appreciated this time of year. He explained pricing in advance, and there were no surprises. He estimated 25 min, my situation is that I am a first time home owner, I bought and sold stocks, rolled over a 401k and IRA account, and made many charitable donations. He kept very close to this time. I brought him all of my documents, and he pointed out some duplicate and ofhers not needed and shredded them for me so I wouldn't have extra clutter. He scanned all my documents, and gave me the option of printing my return or email only. Before I came I started doing my taxes, but decided to get professional help and Yoel got me a slightly higher refund than I had come up with, enough to cover his fee.
