Wasn't expecting much from a movie theater in Rolla (no offense Rolla.) Regal Forum was AWESOME!! This place was tucked away off the highway. My BIL bought the tickets online so we didn't have to deal with getting tickets there. The girls at the concession counter were AWESOME. They were so friendly and helpful and never seemed annoyed when we came up for our 10000x refills. The theater we were in wasn't huge but it was big enough. But the seats were AMAZINGGGGG. So comfy!! I recently went to go see the new Spider-Man movie, and I had a great time. Slight problem, about halfway through the movie and alarm started going off. I don't know if it was a prank or if somebody forgot something but it just went on and on. Luckily other patrons watching the movie took it into their own hands to find and remove it. Rolla has a movie theatre! This is the only movie theatre in town so if you don't want to drive 40 miles to Waynesville, this is your only choice. They only have four screens here, no 3D showings, and you can expect that those four movies are usually the top box office movies. The four screens are also fairly small. Well, it's Rolla, so you take what you can get. The prices are a little more inexpensive than typical: $8.25 for adult, $7.25 for matinee. They need to get some carpet sweepers. There is pop corn on the carpet, and the place looks messy. read more

1200 on a Saturday.... 2 people working... 1 of those two was helping someone download and navigate an app... waited 20 minutes in line and the were still on the same people they were helping when we went in... about 5 people still infront of us... and 30 people behind us.... decided to leave and make the 25 minute drive to Waybesville B&B and watch the same movie on their GRAND screen... called someone who we knew, that was behind us in line when we left... they were still waiting in line.... This is the only theater in Rolla so over the years we've been here quite often! Back in the day it was pretty small and no one really liked going there. However, everything has been remodeled, there are screens where you order snacks, reclining chairs in the theaters and everything has a fresh new look! There are even more screens I do believe. This is definitely a place worth checking out now! Prices are your usual movie theater prices, they have about the same snacks as other theaters! My husband, mother, and I went to see Deadpool 2 and it was AMAZING. such a great experience. Except we should have gotten there earlier! You get to pick your seats when you purchase tickets as well. read more

Oh, come on. When is there NOT popcorn on the floor of a movie theater? Give them a break. I worked here in high school, and it is impossible to keep the floors spotless. Besides, they make minimum wage and do everything from thread film to tear tickets (and have to stay until the last yayhoo has left the theater at night). It's an old theater. It's only got four small screens. Not every movie comes to town. No fancy seating. But Paul is right--it's Rolla, you take what you can get. You get to eat popcorn, watch a movie on a screen bigger than your TV, and soak up the free A/C. Be thankful. and FYI, they DO have 3D showings. read more

Great improvements. Seats are 5 stars, bathrooms are 5 star. The new large screen is nice. I will no longer drive to Waynesville for movies. My only question, if you put so much into remodeling why didn't you replace the carpet? oh well, much much better than before. read more

All of the theaters have been refurbished since the unfavorable reviews were posted, and a fifth theater added. Modern reclining seats have been installed. It is now a great place to enjoy a movie with your significant other, or your family. To pay for it all are the concession prices which are comparable to other modern style theaters. Since the new renovation this has become one of the best cinemas in the area. Comfortable leather recliners,and bigger screens, even better food options. The staff is very friendly, they've always had great staff. Forget the past and enjoy the new environment. You won't be disappointed. read more

Terrible seating. The floors are rippled so the mddle rows are lower than the front. Anyone who sits in front of you will block the screen. Really dirty floors, urinals covered with plastic bags. The prices are the same as really nice theaters in St Louis. Cronic sound issues. The staff tries but the fat manager guy is a real jerk. This is the only theater for 30+ miles so they really dont try too hard to create a great experience. read more

I have to agree in the 10 years that I have lived here the only thing I can for this place is that it is over priced, for a senior, child bag of popcorn and coke, you just wreck a $50.00. I will stay home or drive somewhere else. read more

The cinema is old, needs updating badly. Seats are very uncomfortable with no leg room. However, I enjoy coming here. The service is good, employees are always smiling. They show new releases of course, I've never had a bad time. Keep up the great service. New seats?? Please. Thanks. read more

The updated recliner seats were awesome, but I can never understand why the advertisements have to be so loud that children (and sometimes adults) have to plug their ears. Once the movie started the sound was good. The reason that we hardly ever go is due to it being so loud that I feel that my daughter's hearing will be damaged because I feel like my eardrums should be bleeding. read more

This place is horrible. The projector bulb blew and they had no replacement bulb in house. Why wouldn't a theatre have any back up bulbs in stock? Really?!! They said one was on the way but after waiting an hour they couldn't figure out how to replace it and sent us all home. Also they had only one person working the snack bar on a Sunday afternoon and the wait was very long. Go figure. The toilets had mold as well. Gross. Bad customer service. The employees working there seem like they don't care either. read more

This theater is so disappointing, the theater rooms are a mess the floor is sticky and the movie sound is horrible, It is worth a drive up the road to Waynesville or Sullivan for a better movie experience. This should be turned into a discount theater. read more

Save your money until you can drive to Waynesville. I will not go to this horrible theatre again. Over the past decade, the managers have appearantly put no money into maintainance, so the bathrooms are still wet and icky, carpet stained, seating stale. Audio is LOUD that you can hear movie in adjacent screenrooms. read more

in response to the individual who said they'd rather go to the Waynesville theater - well i have to say I don't have any idea what planet you are living on!! The Rolla theater is WAY nicer than the Waynesville Theater (by a long shot)!! Granted the Waynesville theater has A LOT nicer seats in the their theaters, but they keep the A/C WAY too cool!! I froze through a 2 hour movie, where as the Rolla theater was a very comfortable temperature, and I sat through the 2 hour movie NOT huddle up in my short sleeve shirt!! As far as the bathrooms go, I can honest say I don't know about the Waynesville bathroom because I just wanted to leave after the movie because I was cold..but as for the Rolla theater bathrooms they weren't awesomely awesome, but they were VERY clean... And as for the front (where you buy your tickets and the concession area it WAS extremely clean and it looked as if people cared enough NOT to allow popcorn scattered all over the floor..as for Waynesville, it was NASTY! there was popcorn all over the floor, and looked as though the employees had NOT cleaned in several days (though they probably have)... and just so every one knows this is a very recent experience with both theaters .. my husband and I drove from St. Robert/Waynesville area yesterday afternoon( 6/30/2012) to watch Promethius (because it is not yet showing in Waynesville) and then afterwards we drove to Waynesville to watch Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter in 3D - which i thought sucked but then again I'm not really into those kind of movies..but the only thing bad about the Rolla theater is that it is "hidden",...its in an awkward area of Rolla, that if you don't look it up on mapquest or what have you, then you most like will NEVER find it....as far as the other thing I did not like about the Waynesville theater - if you do NOT pre-buy your tickets and you do not get to the theater atleast 30 minutes or more before the movie YOU want to see starts then you will miss about the first 5 to 10 minutes of the movie (and that is after the 15 minutes of previews before the movie actually starts)...so basically if you get there 20 minutes before the movies starts you will wait in a VERY long line for about 30 to 40 minutes to buy your tickets and your concession items - causing you to miss the first few minutes of the movie...we did not have this issue with the Rolla theater - granted we pre-bought our tickets for the movie about an hour and half before it started - but when we got there, there was NO line and it took us all of about 5 minutes to get out concession items and we then was able to sit through ALL 16 minutes of previews!!.. have a great day everyone read more

As someone who originally lived in a city with tons of options for theaters, I didn't find this theater bad. I went to see a 3D movie on a Saturday night and I found the place to be clean and in good shape. I've been to worse theaters than this one (I've been to one in Wisconsin where ceiling titles were falling off and a quarter of the seats were out of order). With the seating not being stadium-style, it seems weird, but I was still able to get a good view of the movie. Did not bother me whatsoever. I didn't use the bathrooms so I don't know how clean they are. My main complaint other than the ticket prices for a small theater like this is the sound system. I seen an action movie and it bothers me that the bass is almost nonexistent and the volume level is quieter compared to other theaters. Maybe because of a scenario like Scott's where if the movie is too loud, people complain that they can hear a movie other than the one they intend to watch? Would be great if they can remodel the auditoriums and replace the dated sound system with new ones if that is the reason for their mediocre sound quality. read more
