And part of bridesmaid duty is listening to the bride vent so I have heard the cripes and complaints about their wedding planners and what went wrong.  I was recently the maid of honor for my dearest friend in NYC. She doesn't have a lot of family so I was fortunate to be able to play a big role in helping her plan her dream day. I happened to be visiting when she had a meeting with Louann and Nancy of Reed Cohen Papers and Events. My friend told me she loved her party planners and it was clear to see why. They were amazing; their attention to detail and organizational skills were great. They were kind and thoughtful, seemed very respectful of her budget and really knowledgable about all the vendors and venues in the area.  Wedding planning can be so stressful but these two just seemed to have such a command on the planning and most of all, they were so fun and creative. I got to know them pretty well from the meetings I attended with my friend and phone calls I helped out with. The wedding was absolutely perfect, she couldn't have asked for a more lovely day. The invitations were beautiful and I was super impressed with their detailed timing script for every detail (large and small) that happened over the entire wedding weekend.  Most of all, they made my friend feel like she was their most important client and no concern was too silly to raise. We met several times, and he made sure he understood the vision for our wedding. Manashe has done this many times, and he knew the typical pitfalls where most couples make mistakes. We were able to avoid those mistakes thanks to him. He also had many ideas to make our wedding program better. On the day of the wedding, my wife and I were able to completely surrender all the little details to him, and he took care of everything. It felt like the right fit, both culturally and personally, for our destination wedding. But sadly, the experience has been deeply disappointing. While I've had a good working relationship with Jazmine (who I'd rate 4 stars for her kindness and patience--she's truly doing her best), the systems at Jus Adventures are broken. There's no client portal, no reliable way for guests to check balances, and no automated confirmations. I've had multiple guests texting me confused about how much they owe, how to pay, or why they haven't heard anything at all--even with the final payment due tomorrow. I've included actual screenshots of guest messages showing how many people are still confused or waiting on basic details like their balances or receipts. This is not just a one-off--it's a systemic failure. To make matters worse, I myself didn't even get confirmation for our own room until June 24, despite signing the contract well in advance. I was literally getting off a plane returning from New York on June 23 when I received a call reminding me about our balance--something I had no documentation or breakdown for. If the bride is nearly missing her payment due to lack of communication, that says everything. Also disappointing is Samantha's lack of presence. After I booked, she handed me off to Jazmine and never followed up. As the face of the business--the reason I chose Jus Adventures in the first place--I expected more leadership and oversight. Instead, I've been left to act as the travel coordinator myself: relaying updates, fielding guest concerns, and trying to avoid resort penalties. To Jazmine's credit: when I finally speak with her, things get clearer. But unfortunately, it's always too late. The systems they use don't support her ability to be proactive, and everything feels like catch-up. At $500, I suppose I should've expected some limitations. But what we got was no client dashboard, no structure, no consistency--and zero accountability from the owner. If you're planning a destination wedding, please be cautious. Either work directly with the resort or choose an agency with the right systems in place. My friend had just graduated with his masters in business and I was preparing for an upcoming surgery in June and we both wanted to take a quick and relaxing vacation away to a Caribbean Island. Samantha suggested a beautiful all-inclusive resort in the Bahamas (Meliá Nassau Beach). It was perfect, exactly what we wanted beautiful beach, fantastic food, great service and peace & quiet. We had some difficulty with the Wi-Fi at the resort and I made a call to Ms. Murdock back in New York and the next day the Wi-Fi was up and running well throughout the entire resort. She contacted the resort on my behalf and definitely worked her magic because the resort management couldn't offer me any solid information on when the internet would be up and running. Devin and Maddie went above and beyond to create a world-class bachelorette weekend that we will never forget. From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was apparent. Our private villa was stunning (Maddie personally greeted us on arrival; we stayed at Jashita Tulum's property "Villa Virginia"; in a gorgeous neighborhood, always felt safe and villa had great security). The activities were perfectly curated (more on what we did below), and the food and drinks (kudos to our private chef) were top-notch. We never had to worry about a single thing! Devin and Maddie took the time to get to know the bride-to-be and worked with us (and our varying budget levels/needs) to create an itinerary that perfectly reflected her personality and interests. It truly felt like a one-of-a-kind experience tailored just for us. Our activities: private villa, private transportation, dinner at Mezze, in-villa massages, yoga & cacao ceremony (highly recommend booking Abril!), private chef dinners, a yacht charter, and ended with a chill relaxing beach day at Jashita's resort property (10-15 minutes from the villa transport from Villa provided). His price was by far the best of all the companies I called. Communication was great and the 2 drivers we had were perfect. They were pros, they were experienced, they were the best. i highly recommend them. i have one more wedding to deal with in the future and Johnny and "In Style" will handle the transportation.
