I did not intend to find any hotel of this quality in Dodge City, KS, and fully consider myself a hotel snob. The room was a small suite with two double beds, a couch and two chairs. It did have an adjoining door if that is important to anyone. It had an exercise room and an indoor swimming pool and hot tub! Our boys had a ball in the pool! We sent the oldest boy to the front desk several times for more towels, including pool towels, and there was never any hesitation from the staff! When we checked in, the guy at the front knew who we were without even having to check on the computer. He gave us instructions on the room because they lock the exterior door from the outside and you must unlock it from the inside before you can access your room from the exterior door. We were on the first floor, by the way. The other floors had small balconies. Beds were super comfy and they had great pillows. They had an in room safe, microwave, small tv, iron, ironing board and hair dryer! It was pretty much right in the middle of town and directly next to the IHOP, if you are a fan. The continental breakfast included hot breakfast. Overall, completely impressed because I wasn't expecting anything of this quality in Dodge City!

The location…read moreof this BW is literally at the entrance of Bryce Park, and I can't find anything bad to say. Plenty of parking, and there's even a Phillips 66 gas station next door with actually very competitive prices. There's no restaurant on property but there are some across the street, and the front desk provides a list of local eateries. Tip: The Bryce Canyon Pines Restaurant - located 4 miles away on route 12 -was an excellent choice. Our king room was spacious, plenty of storage, and 2 sinks in the room. The shower had plenty of hot water and ample water pressure. The toiletries was lemony, citrusy which was pleasant to use. There was even a fridge and microwave in the room. I was quite impressed on the breakfast buffet. They literally had everything you could think of for breakfast, from eggs, sausage AND bacon, waffles, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, fruit, fresh yogurt, yogurt in a cup, juice, cereal, breads, donuts, potatoes, and so much more! Even the coffee was good... not weak at all. There are a few feral cats on property and I was so sad they had to stay out in the cold, huddled under our cars for warmth. Aside from that, it's an excellent location. Staff was friendly, but not overly chatty.

This hotel had one of the best hospitality and customer service. Special thanks to Brent and his staff for taking such good care of me and my significant other during our stay. At least before his time in Tombstone, Arizona... but more than anything we needed a place to lay our heads until the next morning, and the next leg to Durango, Colorado. Overall, this was an AOK, 3 Star motel with a 5 star fellow running the front desk. We found plenty of parking in the back for the truck and trailer, parked along the curb/back fence. This also seem to be at the spot that most people relieve their dogs, and clearly, not many of them bothered to pick up after their pets. Step lightly. Once inside the lobby, as I said, the guy behind the desk was very friendly, and as we would find out later, very helpful. for whatever reason, they gave us an ADA room, so lots of floor space, wide doors, huge bathroom. Beds were comfortable, and the air conditioner worked. we ended up spending quite a bit of the evening in our room, after discovering that there really wasn't a whole lot to see in Dodge city, Kansas. maybe we just didn't look hard enough? Highlight for the trip was visiting the DQ, so there's that. One tragic flaw in the room was that for whatever reason, the television would turn off for no reason every few minutes or so. We called down to the front desk, and that nice guy informed us they were having some Internet issues, but he would try to reset it, etc. I checked the wires, and found that the HDMI cable was sort of loose; I even grabbed some tape out of the camper, just sort of hold it in place. A few minutes later, the front desk fellow knocked at the door, and asked if it was improved. At that moment, it kind of seem to be doing OK, so we thanked him for his kindness... But the TV kind of kept doing that on and off things sporadically until we shut it off for the night. Not an absolute dealbreaker, but kind of important when you've been in the car for nine hours, and just sort of want to burn out to bad hotel TV. We would totally stay here again if we needed to, but With the price of diesel these days, I can't imagine planning a trip cross country with a stop in dodge city again.

The room was rushed and not really clean. Stains on couch. Water stains on shower doors. 2. The breakfast is not as promised. The reason given was Ag Dept shut us down but other hotels in this town are serving. 3. Front desk is frazzled and showing it.

One feature I really like about the Marriott app is being able to use the travel/map tab to see what hotels are available ahead along your route. We decided on TownePlace Suites Dodge City and I made a reservation with a 12 p.m. checkout. When we arrived, the lady at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. We got to our room and found it to be a king suite with a full bath and a small kitchenette. The kitchenette included: a microwave, full-size refrigerator, two-burner cooktop, pots and pans, utensils, and a comfortable couch. The only odd thing was the TV, which was probably the smallest TV I've seen in a Marriott property in quite a while. The room layout also had some design flaws. The closet setup makes it difficult to hang clothes unless you want them tucked awkwardly into the corner. The closet organizer really needs to be redesigned to make it more accessible. There was also a coat closet near the entrance, but no proper hanging bar -- just a small hook that really would not work well for hanging a dress coat. We did get a good night's sleep, but the next morning was disappointing. Around 8:30 a.m., someone from housekeeping simply opened the door and walked directly into our room without knocking first. Since I had requested a noon checkout, this should never have happened. If we had already checked out, the computer should have updated information available through the hotel system that we were checked out and it's ok to clean DONT JUST WALK IN!! Hotels today have computerized systems that clearly show which rooms are occupied and which have checked out. After that, I went to wash up before breakfast and discovered there were no washcloths in the room. I stopped by the front desk to let them know about both issues, the unannounced entry into the room and the missing washcloths. NO, I'm sorry nothing .. Just what room are you in... Breakfast unfortunately was also below what we usually expect from Marriott properties. The sausage looked dried out and shriveled, the eggs appeared watery, and the oatmeal was so thick it would barely come off the spoon. I understand they use microwaved items for breakfast and do not have a full kitchen staff, but the quality still could have been better. We ended up just having cereal and a bagel. The room itself also needed better maintenance and cleaning. In the shower, someone had apparently knocked the soap holder off the wall and instead of repairing it, it had simply been placed under the sink. There was also a noticeable hole in the tile where water could easily get behind the wall and potentially cause damage to the floor below. It was surprising that housekeeping or maintenance had not reported or repaired this already. Overall, the property has potential and the room itself was comfortable enough, but there were several maintenance, cleanliness, and service issues that kept this stay from feeling up to normal Marriott standards.

I was willing to forgive and forget a couple of these things since the clerk at the front desk was very kind until we got booted from the hotel today because my baby threw up on the bed. My baby, unfortunately got sick in the night and threw up on the bed, leaving a little bit of bile on the mattress and sheets. We explain to both the front desk and the maid that I was going to clean it, however, the maid took pictures sent it to the manager, who then tried to charge us for Destruction of property. When my husband tried to explain to him that I had cleaned the mattress and asked him to go look at it before trying to charge us. He decided instead he rather take our money for the five days we've paid in advance for and kick us out at 6 PM With nowhere to go. Then called the cops and had us trespassed without refunding us the nearly $400 we paid for in advance. There are many great places to stay in Dodge, I advise whatever you do stay at one of those and avoids this place like the plague.
