    Trash in hallway
    Randy M.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We only stayed here because they are advertised as "pet friendly ", and my wife and I were traveling in 2 dogs. The hallways, entryways and room was filthy! I'm attaching a couple of pictures of trash in the hallway that remained for 2 days, and the stain on one of the room chairs. In addition, there was a tornado watch the night we stayed. Not a warning, but a WATCH, which means conditions are very favorable for a tornado. When I asked the manager/owner where the shelter was located, he told me they didn't have a shelter, and if a tornado did hit, that I should "call the police and ask them." What?? On the plus side, the tv worked.

Greaaaaaaat service. First time i got a room with two floors. Pretty unique. Drawback is bathroom on first floor. The upstairs room is large. The tv is small. Also has a desk and chair with foot rest. Comfortably fits 5-6. Bottom floor is quaint. The sofa was broken so my buddy slept on the floor. Bathtub is sauna size and water pours nicely to wash up after a 22 hour drive. Price - $100 with no reservation.

This their parking lot which remained empty the few days we were there. You can see there are no signs saying you cant park here.

In all my years of travel this was the most bizzare place I v stayed...the owner and management are the must unprofessional people I have met in regards to housing. We are currently working a state run project and decided to use this hotel as a base of operation for a couple weeks. Its a bit run down but honestly its not uncommon for this portion of the country. We rented 4 rooms. It went well for about 3 days. Then thinks started gettin weird. My daughter was denied access to her room... she btw has an infant and 3 yr traveling with her. Her fiance is one of our teches. So they said the rm wasnt paid for. Manager didnt want to give her a key to get her wallet to make payment. Finally he did. There wasnt very many people staying here and one of the guys parked in a truck spot there are about 12 spots not in use... no signs stating trucks only. Parked there for a few days. Late one night he calls my daughters rm and starts screaming at them about the van being parked there. They said it wasnt theirs but they would figure it out and get it moved. The guy that owned the van went down apoligized said he didnt know and would move it. The manager/owner was wasted reaked of alcohol. He said that kind of stupity was why he was gonna call the police and kick us all out. The guys get upset and start arguing with the manager/Owner...apparently some mail had come also and he threw it at my daughters fiance. Said he was gonna call the police. We still dont even know why! When the crew chief asked the next day about it...he said your kicking us all out over a parking spot? Yes he said thats the kind of mentality that the guy laat night used and yes check out by 11 the police will be here to see you out. He was like are you kidding me? He said noI am not. They were here last night and were gonna kick my daughters door down but they didnt want to have to replace it. Crew chief was like you know there are 2 small children in that rm and the cops would have knocked if they had questions. The manager then said you never asked us if you could have women and children here and she keeps bothering me....this is long but I would hate for anyone to be mislead and stay here not knowing how bizarre these folkes are. We trully have no idea why we were targeted or if perhaps there is some sort of an illegal operation going on here...it looks inocent enough but to get rid of 4 rms rented for a couple weeks this month is odd. There are other places to stay in Dodge City or Garden City has a ton more to do. End rant! If you do decide to wing it just be safe and push the interior chain lock so they cant come in while you sleep.

    Don't mind my mess.

Dirty. Tub would not drain. Ceiling plaster falling on the floor. I was so glad we were only sleeping there one night. Not good.

The staff is not adequately trained. The hotel seems tired and worn, unclean. I would not recommend this place.

I did not intend to find any hotel of this quality in Dodge City, KS, and fully consider myself a hotel snob. The room was a small suite with two double beds, a couch and two chairs. It did have an adjoining door if that is important to anyone. It had an exercise room and an indoor swimming pool and hot tub! Our boys had a ball in the pool! We sent the oldest boy to the front desk several times for more towels, including pool towels, and there was never any hesitation from the staff! When we checked in, the guy at the front knew who we were without even having to check on the computer. He gave us instructions on the room because they lock the exterior door from the outside and you must unlock it from the inside before you can access your room from the exterior door. We were on the first floor, by the way. The other floors had small balconies. Beds were super comfy and they had great pillows. They had an in room safe, microwave, small tv, iron, ironing board and hair dryer! It was pretty much right in the middle of town and directly next to the IHOP, if you are a fan. The continental breakfast included hot breakfast. Overall, completely impressed because I wasn't expecting anything of this quality in Dodge City!

Plenty of parking, and there's even a Phillips 66 gas station next door with actually very competitive prices. There's no restaurant on property but there are some across the street, and the front desk provides a list of local eateries. Tip: The Bryce Canyon Pines Restaurant - located 4 miles away on route 12 -was an excellent choice. Our king room was spacious, plenty of storage, and 2 sinks in the room. The shower had plenty of hot water and ample water pressure. The toiletries was lemony, citrusy which was pleasant to use. There was even a fridge and microwave in the room. I was quite impressed on the breakfast buffet. They literally had everything you could think of for breakfast, from eggs, sausage AND bacon, waffles, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, fruit, fresh yogurt, yogurt in a cup, juice, cereal, breads, donuts, potatoes, and so much more! Even the coffee was good... not weak at all. There are a few feral cats on property and I was so sad they had to stay out in the cold, huddled under our cars for warmth. Aside from that, it's an excellent location. Staff was friendly, but not overly chatty.

At least before his time in Tombstone, Arizona... but more than anything we needed a place to lay our heads until the next morning, and the next leg to Durango, Colorado. Overall, this was an AOK, 3 Star motel with a 5 star fellow running the front desk. We found plenty of parking in the back for the truck and trailer, parked along the curb/back fence. This also seem to be at the spot that most people relieve their dogs, and clearly, not many of them bothered to pick up after their pets. Step lightly. Once inside the lobby, as I said, the guy behind the desk was very friendly, and as we would find out later, very helpful. for whatever reason, they gave us an ADA room, so lots of floor space, wide doors, huge bathroom. Beds were comfortable, and the air conditioner worked. we ended up spending quite a bit of the evening in our room, after discovering that there really wasn't a whole lot to see in Dodge city, Kansas. maybe we just didn't look hard enough? Highlight for the trip was visiting the DQ, so there's that. One tragic flaw in the room was that for whatever reason, the television would turn off for no reason every few minutes or so. We called down to the front desk, and that nice guy informed us they were having some Internet issues, but he would try to reset it, etc. I checked the wires, and found that the HDMI cable was sort of loose; I even grabbed some tape out of the camper, just sort of hold it in place. A few minutes later, the front desk fellow knocked at the door, and asked if it was improved. At that moment, it kind of seem to be doing OK, so we thanked him for his kindness... But the TV kind of kept doing that on and off things sporadically until we shut it off for the night. Not an absolute dealbreaker, but kind of important when you've been in the car for nine hours, and just sort of want to burn out to bad hotel TV. We would totally stay here again if we needed to, but With the price of diesel these days, I can't imagine planning a trip cross country with a stop in dodge city again.

The room was rushed and not really clean. Stains on couch. Water stains on shower doors. 2. The breakfast is not as promised. The reason given was Ag Dept shut us down but other hotels in this town are serving. 3. Front desk is frazzled and showing it.

One feature I really like about the Marriott app is being able to use the travel/map tab to see what hotels are available ahead along your route. We decided on TownePlace Suites Dodge City and I made a reservation with a 12 p.m. checkout. When we arrived, the lady at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. We got to our room and found it to be a king suite with a full bath and a small kitchenette. The kitchenette included: a microwave, full-size refrigerator, two-burner cooktop, pots and pans, utensils, and a comfortable couch. The only odd thing was the TV, which was probably the smallest TV I've seen in a Marriott property in quite a while. The room layout also had some design flaws. The closet setup makes it difficult to hang clothes unless you want them tucked awkwardly into the corner. The closet organizer really needs to be redesigned to make it more accessible. There was also a coat closet near the entrance, but no proper hanging bar -- just a small hook that really would not work well for hanging a dress coat. We did get a good night's sleep, but the next morning was disappointing. Around 8:30 a.m., someone from housekeeping simply opened the door and walked directly into our room without knocking first. Since I had requested a noon checkout, this should never have happened. If we had already checked out, the computer should have updated information available through the hotel system that we were checked out and it's ok to clean DONT JUST WALK IN!! Hotels today have computerized systems that clearly show which rooms are occupied and which have checked out. After that, I went to wash up before breakfast and discovered there were no washcloths in the room. I stopped by the front desk to let them know about both issues, the unannounced entry into the room and the missing washcloths. NO, I'm sorry nothing .. Just what room are you in... Breakfast unfortunately was also below what we usually expect from Marriott properties. The sausage looked dried out and shriveled, the eggs appeared watery, and the oatmeal was so thick it would barely come off the spoon. I understand they use microwaved items for breakfast and do not have a full kitchen staff, but the quality still could have been better. We ended up just having cereal and a bagel. The room itself also needed better maintenance and cleaning. In the shower, someone had apparently knocked the soap holder off the wall and instead of repairing it, it had simply been placed under the sink. There was also a noticeable hole in the tile where water could easily get behind the wall and potentially cause damage to the floor below. It was surprising that housekeeping or maintenance had not reported or repaired this already. Overall, the property has potential and the room itself was comfortable enough, but there were several maintenance, cleanliness, and service issues that kept this stay from feeling up to normal Marriott standards.
