I don't like leaving reviews and it hurts me to even gather up energy to do so, but I'm very disappointed and won't be returning here as a patient. I'm giving 2 stars because I liked her initially but my, my, my.... things have CHANGED and it makes me sad and the trust is not there for me.
As a Signature MD patient, which is supposedly all she accepts as of 2022, and me paying extra money for " Impeccable Care" I expected more. Signature MD charges $500 every 3 months to be a patient of Dr. Edmond in addition to insurance. A lot of these Dr's are converting to Signature MD with Cedars I'm seeing.
When I first found Dr. Edmond in Aug. 2019, I loved my experience with her and was so happy to have found a "woman of color" OBGYN. My previous OBGYN was my favorite but he unfortunately passed away unbeknownst to me in 2018. RIP Dr. Palmieri.
Fast forward to 2022.
I regretfully have to share the issues I have:
* She says one thing and DOES another. It's like every meeting is a new meeting and she's not prepared or even remembers anything about previous conversations. You would think she would review notes, charts and images. Nope.
*The office receptionists seem unorganized and are not warm.
*Poor Communication with her and her staff.
*The final reason that made me seek other options and to LEAVE.
I have fibroids and have been monitoring them for about a year. Without going into too much detail, I'm told at one appointment that they're the size of a couple oranges... then months later deciding on options she tells me " You don't need to have a myomectomy, they're not that big." She proposes another procedure called a
hysteroscopy...they'll remove the small fibroid in the uterus that could potentially be in the way of the baby growing and prevent potential complications. Well, how big, is big ?? Oranges are not small... I've had fibroids in the past and a prior surgery so I know all about fibroids. I didn't want to have to have another myomectomy but if I have to then I will for a successful pregnancy.
Anyway, fast forward to a week a before my procedure date, I get no calls or any info confirming my surgery. No pre-op info or anything for an entire week when my surgery is the following Tuesday. I call on the Monday before the surgery and express my concerns and frustration, she apologizes and takes full responsibility. She says she'll call the OR to cancel the surgery.... I'm like... What?!!! Y'all ain't doing no surgery on me... you didn't even call me to confirm or do any pre-op protocols!! What the heck... I've had surgery before and this is not right....
Lastly, I go in a week later for pre-op protocols (bloodwork) and it was like what she and I spoke about prior wasn't even remembered... Like we never spoke!!!! She even wrote down additional procedures including a "myomectomy" that she just added on the paper. Remember she literally just told me a month ago that the "myomectomy" procedure wasn't needed because they weren't big enough. I was like WAIT a Minute.... Her reply was that "she looked over the images again and thought why not go for that option while we're at it . I'm like... " Dr. Edmond, WHAT???" I need to prepare for this type of surgery. You can't just spring this on me and act like we agreed on this!! My husband was there at the appointment and he asked questions and she seemed bothered by his questions. It was like she was an entirely new person TONE wise. She again, had NO images of the fibroids to show us and go over. She drew them once again... We both came in thinking we're preparing for one procedure and she took it upon herself to add in more as if we talked about it and wanted my consent. I sat there trying to wrap my head around what just happened and couldn't believe what was happening... She could have called me and told me this wayyyyyy before a week before the initial proposed procedure... We just spoke a week ago. Are you that busy to forget that?!!!!
I cannot trust her with my uterus and protecting my fertility.
I will not be returning and I truly believe things happen for a reason. I have found another potential OBGYN/Surgeon and praying he's the one. I'm sad to have to write a review like this... It's so hard and frustrating finding a OBYN.
