I took a family member here for a mammogram and bone density test recently. Both technicians for the two different tests were very friendly and made the experience as pleasant as it could be. Staten Island care is acceptable at Regional Radiology but do not expect same as NYU Manhattan facilities affiliated with Perlmutter Cancer Center mammography ultrasound, or bone density equipment and technical and physician staff to be same as Manhattan facilities located at Langone etc.. My experience in Manhattan facilities as far as appointment wait times were on time but at Regional Radiology the wait times before and after imaging for checking are long. The main reason I use the SI facilities is because it is convenience for travel and in Staten Island. Also Dr.'s in Staten Island Regional Radiology in my experience, mammography, breast ultrasound, are not physically present at the facility at the time of the appointment because they read the images from home via medical approved internet. I had asked to speak with the manager and asked why I was not able to speak to or seen by the radiologist since at the at the nyc city facilities I was, to go over any questions and to look physically at me for any lumps etc of concern. At Regional Radiology, my opinion and experience only, the technologist contacts the radiologist physician and describes concerns etc. to the radiologist reading the images, and one time I was connected to the radiologist on the computer and on the phone. Not the same as an in person exam. I was told by the staff manager that in the future, before making an appointment, to ask if and when there will be a radiologist on sight for the day of your appointment, as mentioned most are working from home. Regional Radiology facilities throughout SI have been affiliated with NYU for some time now, and acceptable by some of my NYU Manhattan doctors depending on imaging needed, some physicians in Manhattan prefer NYU Langone, Perlmutter Radiology, or imaging facility at the Orthopedic center on E38 th Street. My Manhattan Dr.'s, some will accept REGIONAL RADIOLOGY, so I opine only in my experience and health situation. The physicians I use will also let me know which facility they would prefer. Please know this has been my experience only and Regional Radiology in my opinion has improved since they have been affiliated with NYU, but again, in my opinion they still need to be more on board in their practices with the facilities in Manhattan. read more

I had mammogram early this morning and am so pleased with regional radiology on Bard Avenue! Not my favorite procedure but I was treated courteously by the young women when I checked in and very pleasant assistance with simple check in since I completed it online! Linda who performed the mammogram is so pleasant, gentle,caring and personable and made my experience as comfortable as possible! I recommend them highly! read more

Registered for my appointment online, simple, and someone called me within an hr to confirm and offer me days/times available. Parking lot has spaces afforded for patients, great! Wait to be called, checked in, arrived on time, waiting since 8:45am, was called back for my sonogram at 9:20....finished and out the door at 9:32. Staff were friendly enough. Bathroom was a mess and the automatic dryer scared the crap out of me lol but aside from that no complaints! read more

I came back for imaging and it was quite better this time around. They were more efficient with timing. I was scene right away and the technician was wonderful, she kept me calm, and I felt safe. Just did 3 MRI's these past weeks. Great staff, made me feel relaxed. Great experience. Quick process checking in and quicker taking me in and starting the test. I'm so claustrophobic and the way they talk you through the test, it was over before I knew it. Again, Awesome staff. read more

I can see why they received such low ratings and truth be told I wish I could give zero stars! I made an appointment which was never confirmed, looking at the reviews I decided to call only to find out first they claimed I had no appointment then after speaking to Maureen the manager found out my appointment was scheduled for a different procedure. Good thing I called! Now I have been waiting over an hour watching ppl come after me and leave before me because they have idiots making wrong appointments. Please don't make the same mistake I did! I've never had a bad experience here. I'm always seen very close to my appointment time and everyone is nice and professional. I used to go somewhere in Brooklyn where I would wait anywhere from an hour to three hours. It was a nightmare. I'm much happier here. read more

I don't recommend anyone going to this place at 360 Bard Avenue in Staten Island. First, the waiting room is an atrocity. Each and everyone of the seats is cracked and peeling. It looks awful.. Anyone working there or running the place should know that the conition of the waiting room the first snapshot a patient sees of any medical facility, and therefore gives an indication of how much care will be put into his/her treatment, testing and reading of scans. If Regional Radiology doesn't care enough to have their waiting room clean, presentable and containing furniture that has been well-maintained, then how much will they care about me or anyone else as a patient? Second, my appointment note stated that I should bring proper ID, the test prescriptions, and any previous mammogram CDs. I could not get my prior mammogram results before the appt. What the notes failed to mention is that the radiologist would not allow me to have a sonogram or to even have a diagnostic mammogram without prior test results. There's a big distinction between instructing a patient to bring prior test results and having the courtesy to inform that patient that he/she won't be seen without them. Regional Radiology @ Bard Avenue should have informed me of this fact before I took the time and the effort to get to the appointment. Waiting and going to this appointment was by virtue of the reasons behind such serious testing a very stressful experience. The snarky, condescending, arrogant demeanor the radiologist demonstrated by telling me that they had informed me I had to bring prior results and that it was in "their notes" was unprofessional and showed her complete inability to listen to her patient. It made a very bad situation worse for me as a patient. And by the way, 6 weeks ago I went to RR fir an x-ray in Eltingville, they didn't ask for prior test results!! But this radiologist? What does she do ? She then reschedules for two and a half weeks from today, and when I expressed dismay at this fact, she looked at me like I was crazy. She then rescheduled the appt for 6 days today. Or so I thought. Someone sent me a notice today saying today's appt. was canceled. I was furious. This radiologist already knew I was upset about their inability to give clear information and for the time I wasted in getting to this appt., one that wasn't cancelled. It was RESCHEDULED. I confirmed this with the receptionist before I left. So now the appointment records make it look like I cancelled the appt, when the radiologist refused to do the testing. Worse yet, they did not send confirmation of the new appointment date, which I suspect might be another one of their infamous scheduling snafus. At this point it's all probably a blessing I didn't get my tests at this facility today. I've been researching and there are much better testing facilities in Staten Island. Don't choose this one. The waiting room alone is a neon sign advertising the fact that you should stay away. read more

I showed up 4 minutes late for my appointment. I wasn't aware I was able to show up 45 minutes early. I was told by the snob at the desk I had to wait for all the patients in the waiting room to go then I could go. I lost it, then they say I need prior authorization for one of the tests that needed to be done. My insurance never ever has to give authorization for any of my procedures. So this woman who worked there tried to calm me down but it made it worse. Like how do you have 5 patients show up 45 minutes early and I'm 4 minutes late, and get put in the back of the line. Ok so now I call when I get home to speak with Lori orKatie, I called Katie a hour ago and no call back, I even called they said she was busy. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING THERE ESPECIALLY IF PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO SHOW UP EARLY AND GO BEFORE YOU. I WOULD OF BEEN FINE IF THEY SAID WE'll SEND YOU IN NEXT THEY DIS NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. HORRIBLE. It is not the same Regional Radiology that originally existed. Completely unorganized, disrespectful establishment. This is what happens when GREED enters the picture; money is first and care and compassion go flying out the door. I don't even want to waste my time explaining how unprofessional the staff was. Hours behind schedule, with no explanation of what is going on. I tried to speak with Gary, a supervisor for the techs, but nobody seemed to know where he was or made an attempt to find out. Bottom line is, I left and WILL NOT go back. No communication and I got extremely anxious. I am in remission from cancer and already was worried about having my CT scans and hoping my cancer is still gone that I didn't need to sit there and waste my time. I went elsewhere, and was treated like I mattered. Just simple courtesy, communication, and professionalism is necessary. Only until people are made responsible and accountable for their actions will this situation ever change. I feel for the excellent doctors that are there and are probably overworked and underpaid. Their skills are wasted there. It will probably be a matter of time before they either retire or go where their expertise is appreciated. read more

I have been using them for years. The staff are really nice. They have three locations... Regional south is near my house and the outerbridge office is near where I work. Plus theyre open nights and weekends which is really important to me since its almost impossible for me to take off from work. My boss doesnt think getting an mri is a good enough reason to take off!
