Pretty good little dog park, close to my home. It's on the small side, but it's not bad. There's no grass, there's a paved area and some concrete areas. My dog would love to run on some grass, but I know that it gets torn up quickly with multiple dogs run around. They have water and water bowls, a little agility ramp, some scooper equipment, and there are usually some toys or balls left there to play with. My only concern is that some local neighbors without dogs like to come in here to have a beer or eat their lunch. Generally I don't care, but people eating food can really distract the dogs, and there's no reason why this has to be a hangout for people without dogs, especially when they start to get rowdy. That said, Olive loves it, and still gets super excited every time we go there, so it will continue to be a regular stop for us! read more

I am very satisfied with this park. I dare say I even like it! I was ready to give this park 4 stars, but my pup is in heal mode because he ripped up his paws playing ball. Sure, it's my fault for feeding his endless ball addiction, but I didn't realize his paws were wearing so raw. I may have to invest in some of those ridiculous booties because this park is staying concrete. Despite the concrete throughway, the park is fun. It's just the right (small) size for me to feel really comfortable letting Link go crazy. If he sights a bird I don't have to worry about him running off for a mile. The best part about this park has been the other dogs. There are so many small dogs here!! And the big dogs have all been really friendly, albeit drooly. Link loves it there. I made some makeshift sock booties yesterday and he was so reluctant to walk in them until we rounded the corner to the park. Suddenly he had a trot in his step and was sprinting around the park like his paws didn't hurt at all. When it gets warmer we will definitely start reliving the hose game from his puppyhood. read more

I stay across from this park (at least this week) and even though I don't have a dog, it's a nice buffer between myself and the street folk. I don't just say streetfolk to be humorous or for the hell of it - some of the people that wander around the area well, let's just say are disturbed and need proper care and it really is sad. On the other hand, had this park not been here, I'm sure there would be a lot more incidents in the middle of the night. Pro tip, wait around until an ambulance drives by with its sirens on and watch the dogs howl like wolves! It is AWESOME! read more

This dog park is in the middle of Belltown, you really can't expect it to be huge or anything. The size of this dog park is pretty darn small, however it is filled with ramps and structures made for the dogs to romp around. The area is either covered with concrete (like a sidewalk) or mulch. It's not a dog park I would recommend to ball fetchers, as it is too small and there are too many structures in the way. However, it is a good place for dogs to socialize. Given the location and the maintenance of this park, it's as good as it gets. I always drive by this dog park, just looking at the size of it; I never gave it a chance. I feared that this park was only visited by small breed dogs, which often times is overwhelmed by my husky. However a friend of mines lives in Belltown and asked if I wanted to join her, so I thought why not? When I arrived, there were several medium to large breed dogs (including a Great Dane) and only about a couple of small breed dogs. I was pretty surprised, I assumed that only locals would visit this dog park, and given that there are only apartments and condos in the area, I didn't think I would see any dogs larger than a Boston terrier visiting this dog park. My husky had a grand time, he LOVES to socialize, and he even climbed on to the large structure in the corner to get a view of everything! Would I come back again? Probably, but I wouldn't say that this would be my go to dog park. I still prefer a larger dog park, however if I was ever in the area again with my husky or visiting my friend again, I would definitely stop by. read more

I wish there were more dog parks with grass in the city. This is a nice location, however it is really dirty. There are clumps of dog hair everywhere. There are a lot of sketchy people in the area. In addition the rocks are terrible for your dog's paw pads. My dog loves playing fetch and unfortunately I didn't think that his paws would get so torn up. We are never going back to this dog park. The city needs to invest in more dog friendly parks as there are more dogs than children in this city. read more

My dog was a shelter rescue with what could be best called a "shady" past. When it comes to people he is a big ol'cuddly teddy bear, but when it comes to other dogs I admit he needs some more socializing and lessons in manners. Regrade Park is a small, welcome area to bring my pooch too. It makes me quite happy to see an area in the middle of high rises, businesses and buildings galore that a dog can just run around and enjoy themselves without worrying about traffic and other such scary puppy-owning concerns. Plenty of areas to pee, sniff, roll around (not so thrilled about this one), climb and run around on. Poo bags are provided for you, so pick up is easy and a MUST, and really I haven't seen clean up be an issue here. Some people don't seem to closely mind their dogs though, so I tend to have to shadow my own pooch and make sure everyone is acting all friendly like. Occasionally the people hanging around outside the park seem questionable, but I have never had an issue and they usually seem to enjoy watching the dogs enjoy themselves. I'll keep bringing the dog here for play and socializing -- it's a welcome pitstop. read more

For those of us living closer to concrete parks than freshwater lakes, the Belltown off leash area is an emerald in the...er...emerald city. We live in a one bedroom condo in Lower Queen Anne/Uptown with our two large dogs. Yes, really. While we walk far and frequently with our pups, we appreciate the off leash area in Belltown as a mini-amusement park for dogs. They can run, jump, wrestle, and socialize--activities they don't normally enjoy in the condo (unless you count getting into trouble afterward). Pekingeses to pit bulls, bassets to bulldogs, dachshunds to dobermans, we've seen many sizes, many breeds. Sometimes the dogs we see are pretty mellow, other times quite vocal and rowdy. Each day is different at the belltown dog park, but maybe that's one reason why we keep going back. read more

This is the only dog park in Seattle that I will not bring my dog to. Sorry. I have walked by this park several times at different times of the day. I am aware that the dog owners who take care of the park do their best to keep it clean/safe. I see a lot of people who do not have dogs utilize the park while smoking or drinking out of a paper bag. I was also turned off by the concrete and rock feel of this small park. Preamble: I Love Dogs. Dogs are cool and fun to be with when they are well trained. I like dogs that smile and chase after balls. I think bandanas on dogs can be pretty cute. Most dogs are just fine with me or better. Even though they all, almost to a dog, have bad breath. Now let me ask you this: Which is more disgusting, a public space filled with smelly passed out drug users or a public space filled with smelly poop and pee, emitting jarring, car alarm like barking 24 hours a day, seven days a week? What is WITH the guy with the bouncy brown and white jack russel or whatever (pictured) and that little yappy tan dog (ditto)? He lets them in at noon, they bark for 45 minutes, and then he takes them away. But they always come BACK again the next day. What's the deal with the guy with the 2 black and white border collies? The dog whisperer says dog parks are great, but they're not a substitute for exercise and play WITH your dog. Like, you can't just go to the dog playground with your cup of tea and cell phone and expect your dog to entertain itself, right? And, like, how can users STAND to walk on the urine saturated beauty bark? Anyway, i'm up in the air on these leashfree parks. Seems to me they're a mixed bag. read more

For those who thumb their nose at this park...pppppffttt... You go now, you no stop stop here. Regrade is not the vast rolling plains for our pooches to roam. Nor does it have a deep reservoir for them to paddle through. It is a small piece of relief (literally) for our in-city pooches. This is my girl's favorite little piece of heaven. She doesn't go to visit her doggie friends, rather she is there to see other humans to love on her. Sure. Sometimes those of us inside the fence enjoy a scene or two of Crackhead Theater. Other times the oddities come inside the fence but I have yet to feel scared (and maybe I'm naive and blissfully ignorant). *Enter Halpert face here* After a while, the Seattle freeze thaws a bit and you get to meet people you normally would never meet if it weren't for your joint love of the pooch. From jail to Yale - we all congregate here. It is a daily destination and the occasional harmless Crackhead drama is a small price to pay to see your pooch trot in with a big goofy grin on her face. read more

Visiting friends in Belltown, we thought we'd take a detour and give Regrade a try. It has to be convenient to Belltown dwellers and a blessing for their pups. I guess I expected more of a community feel to it, but most of the owners spent their time on their phones. My pup did enjoy the ramp and steps, but it won't be worth a trip there. Perhaps we're a tad spoiled...a lot spoiled actually... but we weren't impressed especially with all the other good off-leash options within a 15 minute drive. read more

Living in a Belltown apartment, my dogs never get to go off leash. It is really nice to have this area available, so even though it isn't perfect, it still gets 4 stars simply for existing. What a cute little park! We were expecting this to be small and "good enough" considering its urban surroundings but were pleasantly surprised with concrete and fresh woodchipped areas, a good size total area, a hose / drinking area, and best of all - agility structures! We had fun playing off the wall with the tennis ball, convincing our pup to try the big ramp, and guiding him up the spiral structure. There were big and small dogs alike at the park today on a sunny fall Saturday and we were pleased with how friendly everyone was. This is a great little park that we'll be sure to use when we want to make sure our pup socializes with other dogs (as opposed to running free for miles / swimming at Magnuson). It's not much farther than Plymouth Pillars for us and much better. :) read more

I recently moved from Belltown to "the burbs" and have to say that I miss this little off-leash park. It's true, I always used to keep a very close eye on my furry-sweetie, because I was afraid some whackjob outside the linked fence would step inside and zoom her away to some underground pooch market... ...and, you never really know if some of the folks in the park are actual doggie owners or just a little "off" (if ya know what I mean/wink-wink). HOWEVER, the dogs were always really, really, really well behaved. I don't think I ever saw a fight the two years we frequented. There's even a little "time out" area for badly behaving pups. I can't say as much for some of the bigger off-leash parks. read more

Since reviewing here, I've visited a few more dog parks in the area that are actually regularly maintained with material that DOESN'T rip up my dogs paws when he runs on it. I used to take my dog here sometimes when I lived on lower Queen Anne. It's a convenient location, but if you don't mind a short drive, there are much better off-leash areas in Ballard, West Seattle, Sand Point and Redmond. I find Regrade Park too small, often too crowded, and too close to the crack heads hanging around on Second Avenue. Also, because of all the apartments and condos surrounding the park, there are rules about letting your dog bark. Anyone who has a dog knows it's difficult to keep them quiet while they're playing with other dogs! read more

Great dog park in the middle of Belltown. It's quite small compared to the massiveness of Marymoor, Magnuson or even Woodland. Don't expect many trees or pretty things to look at but you can expect friendly and attentive owners, playful dogs, ramps for agility training, lots of concrete (i.e. less mud) and a great wall to throw tennis balls at. read more

I go to this dog park a lot. I live half a block away so it's very convenient. Most of the dogs are well behaved and there's a lot of regulars that come here. They all know my dog and are very friendly. My dog more or less likes coming here so she can get attention from people, she has that kind of power. It's pretty small but it does the job. read more

Not the best neighborhood and bit too much cement for super active dogs like mine who will run until their pads bleed but honestly, it's just so nice to have a dog park nearby. The people there have all been super nice, everybody seems to pick up after themselves, and there are lots of different types of play areas for the dogs. read more

Meh. I get this is a city dog park but it leaves a lot to be desired. For instance, some grass! When I was there the dogs seemed well behaved and owners were quick to pick up after their dogs, but there was still a lot of stray accidents that were just waiting to be stepped on - yuck! read more

I understand the fact that it's in the heart of the city, ergo, you have a ton of sketchy people and pretty much that's what you get in this dog park -- sketchy people, and dirty dogs. We went here on a weekday afternoon and just after we got here, the humane society was there checking licenses. It's nice to know that the other dogs there are supposed to be licensed and healthy. The park is big and the surrounding city sounds are great. They even have a little agility ramp/steps and a doggie time-out area. It's also a very convenient downtown location. While I was staying across street of this wonderful Dog park for 2 months, I was able to be there for a few times..I have a little dog I am from NYC, and I was staying in Seattle temporally , however for the 2 months I stayed there, I was glad to find a dog park in the middle of downtown in a area where does not have a good reputation due the drugs dealers and addicts that hangs near the park . However, I was able to find lovely dog with very nice people in that park ,and my dog was able to relate with a lot of other dogs from all seizes and types, which I became so happy that my dog had that opportunity to be with other dog in a dog safe zone in the middle of Belltown a very busy area ...I like to keep her social and friendly with all dogs, and that park is very well prepared for that, I loved the ramps that they have , and the others parts of the park for the dogs to exercise ..They did a good job with that park considering with the size of it ..Recently they had a construction to fix the cement which was what many were complaining about it, and they once again did a good job , I was able to see the results before leaving to NYC..I find the existence of that park in the middle of Belltown a real blessing..Dogs can heal, dogs can offer a positive vibration due their lovely ways to be and if some people that hangs there have whatever type of problems( which is none of our business) it is good that they are around dogs, and we should not judge them , and just wish them well.. I was glad to find out while I was there that the park used to be a heroin area, and now it became a dog park, that is a huge progress, and I give 5 stars to the city of Seattle for doing that park, it is very touching ..I thought that the draw in the park wall in blue with the space needle with the dogs with their names painting (Like they were cleaning the area) was adorable and extremely touching ,..I feel for those who are fighting against addiction , I pray for them, and I am glad that now those dogs are there with their carrying owners , Dogs are creatures who does not judge and offer uncoindition love ..I remember meeting a few people and they were all cool, and had lovely dogs. It does not matter if the dog have bad or good owners , that park was made for the dogs well being. I had a blast watching other dogs playing..since my dog is very little she can be a bit shy, but she had her fun just being able to smell other dogs and say hello, I was extremely happy for that since my dog feel happy to be around others dogs ...I think is rude of people coming to yelp and make description of the dogs who hangs there and judge their owners, it is immaturity , and there is no need for that.. some need help with their anger issues, and may we have compassion for people like that ....Overall Regrade is a nice park that was created with the best of intentions, and I am glad that I met a few there that had a positive vibe about the park despite of the bad things that goes on near the park area..I was aware of the drug dealers that hang near the park..but the park is full of regular hard worker honest people who hang with their cute dogs..I was so happy to see so many dogs jumping around..I am sure the drug problem in Belltown will get better, they are taking the steps for that, there is a recover center near the park , and it touched my heart when they were smiling at my dog , they are people fighting against a terrible addiction and when they see anything nice somehow it helps them...Remember that the park is for the dogs , and if you go there is for your dog well being..But the ones who does not have a problem, can't judge those who does ,and only wish them the best.However, the park you only see people who needs have space for the dogs play since they all live in apartments , and it is wonderful to have this park..I am back in NYC, and I only wish they had a park like that here. Glad they had a park in the middle of downtown Seattle. Pretty small. Has the amenities you need. Nothing special but gets the job done. We were here for just the weekend and needed to have our dog go out and play with others. Mostly concrete and some bark dust. Some strange people that come through but otherwise not bad. There were 10 dogs there and only 2 owners when we came through, not sure that all the dogs were accounted for. read more

This place isn't great. There's no grass and it's honestly a little rough; everyone in Belltown brings their dogs here, ranging across the socioeconomic spectrum. Most of the regulars are good people though, and if you have a hyperactive puppy, she's definitely going to have a great time running around with the other dogs or playing fetch here. If you're in the area and you have an active dog, bring them around here to socialize them and you might even make some friends too. read more

My dog Fergie has the luxury of having an owner who works at home and can take her to the park/on walks/indoor play sessions/swimming anytime. And who also has a car and can drive her to Magnusun, Marymoore, Golden Gardens, etc, whenever they feel like it. Having said that, there are reasons why Fergie has fallen in love with Regrade. She has made a couple of handfuls of good dog buddies in the last couple of months that she really adores. She sees them all at about the same times and since the park is so small they are sure not to miss each other. These new buddies and play sessions have made her a happier, more well-rounded dog. Regrade has a kiddie pool that the other parks don't have (yes I know about the water at M & M parks, but she doesn't LAY DOWN in the water there or chomp at the hose like she does at Regrade. She adores these activities). She nearly always comes home wet. We can get there in 5-7 minutes flat, as opposed to the 15-20 for the other parks. This is important for an ADD dog, and makes her so happy that she doesn't have to wait, whining in the back of the car while I tell her to shush. And I have fallen in love with the Regrade park because it is so small I can keep an eye on my troublemaking pooch and continue to work on our obedience training, with her just an arm's reach from me, difficult to do at the larger parks. I have very strict standards for my pooch's behavior and at Regrade it is easier for me to enforce those standards. It makes a great 'practice playground'. I think Regrade is awesome for those who live in the hood and a really great option for those of us who don't but want to be able to mix it up a bit with our park trips for some novel stimulus. Now, having said that, I am counting the days until they open the Lower Kinnear off-leash park (lower Queen Anne), a few blocks from my place (slated for summer 2008??). I was over there today and the location is nothing short of gorgeous. Can't wait! read more

I often bring my dog to work in Belltown, and when we step out in the afternoon she'll drag me to this urban dog park. The dog loves this place. It used to be a super sketchy open-air drug market before it was converted to an off-leash area, but it feels much safer now. It's still urban, but Belltown is gentrifying. The regulars are friendly yet vigilant. I'd give it four stars, if the water spigot worked and the grounds were kept cleaner. read more

My little Goldendoodle loves this park! I live in Belltown and I am so glad that Regrade park is here. Granted when you go during "happy hour" (around5:30-6 on week days) it can get a little crazy, but my little girl is always tired when we get home. And all the whack jobs that hang out on the other side of the fence? They won't mess with anyone in the park! The people are very friendly, almost like a small community. As far as the barking rules, it is getting better, less complaints. I agree, though, if you have a dog that is barking non-stop, not just sporatically, then you should take control. Some other dogs (like mine) get intimidated with loud barkers. read more
