By far one of my favorite viewpoints of Seattle!! Kerry Park is a must stop if you are in the Seattle area. A couple things to consider as you are planning your trip to Kerry Park: 1) the park is located on a extremely steep hill (you can definitely walk to it, but you'll likely be exhausted walking all the way up to the top from lower Queen Anne), 2) if you are driving it may take some time to find parking as the park is tucked away in a neighborhood, and 3) Mount rainier is viewable from the park on a clear day, you'll want to stop by on a sunny and clear day if possible (the view is still beautiful if the weather is overcast, but it's even better if it's sunny and clear). When you arrive to Kerry Park you'll be greeted with a postcard perfect view of Seattle/the puget sound, and a relaxing atmosphere. It can get busy but spots will naturally open up where you can take photos. I'd recommend going close to sunset if you can time it. Btw, if you are a Grey's anatomy fan some of the house filmed at are tucked away in the Queen Anne neighborhood. read more

Before a big day of Seattle exploring, my best friend and I decided to stop at Kerry Park for a city view. We were up pretty early and thankfully the spot wasn't too crowded. Even though it was a cloudier day, we still have a beautiful view of the city skyline. We found street parking nearby. It's located in a gorgeous neighborhood. Whenever I'm in Seattle, Kerry Park is one of my absolute must-visit spots. The views of the city skyline are simply amazing!! Bonus points if you visit during golden hour, when the lighting makes the skyline look even more beautiful. That said, depending on the time of day, parking can be a little tricky to find and the park itself can get pretty busy and crowded. Personally, I think sunrise is the best time to come. Parking is much easier to find, the early morning light adds so much beauty to the cityscape, and there are hardly any people around. Free activity in Seattle, Washington... When I was at the Post Office, mailing some postcards, the friendly clerk suggested that I go to Kerry Park to view in person, the city skyline as depicted in these postcards... OK! My niece was surprised at the size of "the park". It seems to be more like a strip of lawn instead of a park. Well... we were there for the beautiful view of Seattle and were happy to get a free parking space on the street! There also was an interesting steel sculpture called: Changing Form. It's 15 feet tall and can be used as a nice frame to photograph the Space Needle and its surroundings! read more

On clear days you can get an amazing view of Elliott Bay and the Central City (with the Space Needle of course!), with a backdrop of Mount Rainier. The viewpoint is thoughtfully designed so many people can line up against the railings without too much trouble instead of photographers trying to jockey for space. If you didn't bring binoculars, there's a few coin operated telescopes to help you look at things in the distance. There's also a cool statue here if you're interested, and if you go down the steps there's a small playground. I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone use the playground though, since there are no bathrooms associated with the park and small kids can have bathroom emergencies. There are businesses nearby where I guess you could technically ask to use the washrooms, but it's just another hassle. Note: street parking only. read more

Amazing skyline view of Seattle available here. Parking is rough, but this park is attached directly to a neighborhood so it's to be expected. I did feel a bit bad being part of the crowd disrupting the neighborhood, but at the same time, with such a great view, I expect residents must be used to and expect people to be here. There's not much space here, so it definitely gets a bit crowded. The sun sets behind you from the viewpoint so you can see the sun setting in the reflection off some of the buildings but not directly, which can be a good thing. read more

This park is not really a park but more of a driveway with a patch of grass, also not a place where any locals would go. A lot of tourist websites brand this as the best view of Seattle, but I think this is more of a spot to funnel tourists. Most of the views is blocked by trees. There are better views of the Seattle skyline elsewhere. read more

Been here twice. 2 different seasons but both during sunset (most popular time to go). Let me tell you. The most iconic views of the city skyline. This park is located in such a cute neighborhood on the south slope of Queen Anne Hill. I feel bad for the residents because it is so busy! If you keep driving around, you should be able to find parking. Even if you're few blocks away, it's a nice walk through the neighborhood. The homes are huge! Back to the views. Breathtaking. Fantastic views here of the Seattle downtown skyline, including the Space Needle. Tucked away in the charming Queen Anne neighborhood, Kerry Park has phenomenal views of Seattle downtown. Like the kind shown on postcards. (The other vantage point would be from the water if you take a boat cruise or ferry.) It's quite the hike if you're walking from downtown. The last four or so blocks are murderous on a San Franciscan level. The grade is at least 25, perhaps higher. There are maybe four park benches up here (and a staircase to the lower Bayview-Kinnear Park with a playground). There is "parallel" street parking but no lot. Also, there are frequent shuttle-sized vehicles bringing tourists and local school groups to this point. But, alas, I spent 90 minutes here just to sit on a bench, watch seaplanes, jets, and ferries and the sky change. It was sublime. PRO TIP: a local told me to walk five blocks west to another park, Marshall Park, where there are fantastic views of Smith Cove and some of the cruise terminal area. Loved this place too. (Also parallel parking here.) read more

Kerry Park can get crazy busy at times. Always seems like there's some event going on here. This is a popular place for things like wedding photos and that kind of stuff other people pretend to care about it seems. A kind of hard place to get to with a lot of walking up stairs and crap. It's located on Queen Anne Hill. This is considered the best place to get views of the city skyline. Also you can see the natural beauty. This offers good looks at Elliott Bay and Mount Rainier. All this here and the park is only an acre. Before getting to it there's a playground. The stairs lead up to a platform with a few benches where you can look out and sit. A sculpture by Doris Totten Chase is at the center. Changing Form is a simple looking but classic structure. An interesting history. It was donated by lumber magnate Albert S. Kerry and his wife Katherine. They lived close to it and thought everyone should get to enjoy the views. For sure a lot of people have seen these even if it wasn't from here. This is a popular spot for television shows and newscasts to film openings. Got to go and check out the city. It's located on West Highland Drive between 2nd Avenue West and 3rd Avenue West on a big ass hill. The climb up is the worst thing about it but it's worth it so whatever. read more

This place is breathtaking! My photo doesn't justify how pretty the city really is! Glad my husband found this place and took me there! He has an interest in photography, so it was the perfect spot for him to enjoy the 20-minute mini-deep-dive session. While he was doing that, I had a moment to close my eyes and enjoy the breeze. After grabbing lunch at Veggie Grill in Downtown, my friend took me to Kerry Park. He described the park has postcard worthy views. I didn't know what to expect as I didn't bookmark this park to see on my itinerary. Once we got there, I couldn't stop saying, "Wow!!" and said, it about 20 times. Seattle skyline is remarkable and I just knew I needed to get a picture of myself with that in the background. My friend made a comment about Frasier, but I never saw that show before so I didn't get the reference. I do know that if I saw views like that daily, I wouldn't want to move out of the city either. If there's one thing I would recommend to someone who is visiting Seattle for the first time, I would highly recommend Kerry Park. It is a must, IMO. Kerry Park is a small neighborhood park with the best panoramic view of Downtown Seattle and the iconic Space Needle. You get a great vantage point of the city and its surrounding. It's quite peaceful just staring at the scenic view. Parking is available along the street for free. Just be respectful of the neighbors, who allow visitors to check out this spot for free. The pictures and videos speak for themselves :') The park is so beautiful, it's not big per se, actually more of a small scenic stop, but offered so much beauty! My friends and I stopped for to-go coffee before coming here and spent quality time sitting on the ledge and admiring Seattle. This part of town is very elevated allowing for the skyline view. There's a cool sculpture where you could climb on--a great photo op! On the side of the park is a path that takes you to a mini playground for the kids. We enjoyed the view and took some nice photos.
