I am writing this review in the summer of the Coronavirus pandemic…read more Bill is open again, and following Health Department guidelines by having customers call ahead so there's only one at a time in the shop, and so he has time to sanitize between them. He's had himself tested as well, just to reassure people. Bill is a great barber, and Bill's is a great place. He's been in business in the same spot for fifty-one years now, and it shows. His shop is full of memorabilia, and, as Town Historian, he'll be happy to accept your charitable payment to the historical society in return for a genuine Rosendale Cement bag or other historical paraphernalia. He also gives a good haircut, which is a plus. Note that he's not a "stylist" and you will not leave his shop looking like a news anchor or a politician, just like a guy with a good haircut. I highly recommend Bill's Barbershop.

This is a REAL barbershop that does REAL haircuts, unlike the ridiculous hard lines, undercuts and piss poor blending that other people have come to pass off as "good work" to college students. As a loyal customer I've come to build a rapport with Ross and he knows already what I prefer and I don't need to ask for anything. In my opinion, their services are the best value anywhere. I've gone to other barbers in New Paltz and without naming names, the only cut they know how to do is either a poorly blended skin fade and have no idea how to taper. There's a reason why I keep coming back to see Ross & Cory and you should too. During the pandemic I've been happy to keep supporting their business and come in every two weeks to keep up with my cut. I could easily go a month without cutting my hair but let's be realistic, in these uncertain times we need to support local talent and Hot Towel is that diamond in the rough that deserves significantly more recognition for their hard work.
