I confirmed with them that they use teff, meaning the injera is gluten free. They also offer 3 spice levels: regular, spicy, and extra spicy. I love all five vegetable options so it was hard to decide. I ended up choosing the Red Lentils, Yellow Lentils, Tikil Gomen (the cabbage dish), and Collard Greens. Everything was excellent! 10/10! (Everything I ordered was vegan and gluten free.) I ordered spicy because I love spicy food. But let me tell you... I was not prepared for the authentic African spices they hit me with. My bad! We were able to pick up several spices that can't be found at your average grocery store - besobela, kosseret, fenugreek seeds, mitmita, etc. They sold lentils, grains, coffee, and more. We also picked up some freshly-made injera (in case my husband's first attempt doesn't go well)! The new owner was very kind - not much was labeled, so he had to go around and point out the spices we were looking for! He told us that he recently bought the store and plans to add more inventory in the future! The store is small, but if you love Ethiopian food and want to cook it at home - A & H has what you need to learn more about the cuisine! And delicious injera, of course! We'll be back!
