Monday Gas Hot Water Heater broke. Tank was leaking from bottom. It was 10 years old which is typical expectancy I learned. Front of tank had label from All Star, the company that installed it. 9:00 am I called and was told the company was now part of Reimer. A technician would come to assess tank. He would call first to arrange a time. 11:30 am Tech arrived and introduced himself. Nicholas said tank needed to be replaced. He presented options. We decided to replace it with same model. Nicholas said he would be back to install it this afternoon. 2:30-4:15 pm Nicholas returns and installs new unit. Wow! So pleased to have new rank installed on same day! The company prides itself on meeting customer needs and service. And they deliver! Excellent communications from Reimer staff throughout the day. Invoices which itemized work to be completed etc. were emailed before installation. Nicholas who did installation was excellent at explaining the initial problem, the options for replacement available, and progress during installation. He was courteous, experienced, knowledgeable, and an asset to the company. Based on our experience today, we highly recommend Reimer. Plus: There was no surcharge for using a credit card. read more

This is the worst company I have ever delt with. I had a small flood in my basement due to a pipe separating at at a connector point which was glued back together and a few pipe brackets installed took no more then 10 minutes to correct and I was charged a tremendous amount of money . I was a little worried when I received a letter that J&M Schwartz was being purchased by Reimer Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing, but so far, I have been impressed. The scheduling of my AC annual visit went smoothly, and the price was quite affordable. They also have an annual service plan that's cheaper than paying individually for furnace and AC visits. They also can now do plumbing, UV lights, and electrical. Brian came to my house, and I received a text and a call about an hour before he arrived, with an accurate ETA. This let me make sure that my dog was secure. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and put up with all my questions. I would happily have him be the tech coming to my house going forward. He did a very thorough job cleaning my AC unit, so that it looks brand new. He tested everything before leaving to make sure that the system was fully functional. He found a spider's nest on the contractor and some spider webs around the capacitor, and cleaned all of that out. read more

Reimer Heating, Cooling & Plumbing - Plumbing Near Me - Clifton Park, New York

There aren't words for how bad this nightmare has been. Bought a new boiler - full new system - in Sept. for $19,100. The person who installed the new boiler apparently installed every single aspect incorrectly. He also barely spoke English and, when I asked why the new system didn't seem to work, he hopped in his orange truck and drove away. Just drove away. Didn't say goodbye, didn't even try to make it work. The wiring was wrong, all zones were set up incorrectly, main water valves were installed 'backward,' the plastic parts to keep the heat from going to every zone weren't installed, the pipes were installed far too close together to work correctly. The expansion tank was faulty and installed in the wrong spot, which could impact its ability to function. Outdoor exhaust pipes were supposed to be above snow level, for obvious reasons, but were installed very low. I also have a 3-story home, and the boiler apparently does not have the power to heat the third floor - something I of course wasn't told beforehand. My old boiler had no problem with that. But, okay, I'll hope heat rises. People who have tried to make it work since the stunningly bad installation include Elijah, Alex, Charlie, Ron, Charlie again, Ron again, Matt, Bruce, Elijah again, Brandon, Myles, Ron again, Ron again, Christian, Brandon again, Brandon again, and Fred. All together, there have been over 20 visits from Reimer since September - and I was traveling for nearly 2 months or it would no doubt have been more. This $19,100 boiler was very expensive, the Reimer salesman said, because it is such a quality product and they do a superior job. Turns out, one visiting tech then told me they don't install this type of boiler any more because they are terrible - something a tech should not tell a client, after the fact. Fred, a longtime and knowledgable technician, seems to have maybe fixed the problems, as the boiler has now worked for about 2 weeks. So, if you are forced to use Reimer - and I'd suggest major dental surgery would be far more fun and simple - ask for Fred only. read more

In some cases, with some of other dishonest companies that want to take a large amount of your money without even doing adequate work, the comparison can be of Reimer being Angelic from heaven and those other businesses absolute hell. ELI and JORGE put in a new furnace. Couldn't believe how hard they worked! In a relatively small area in a walk-in closet(with other items stored),ELI had to himself lift the heavy new and old heaters for the job! They worked together,keeping my floors pristine. In the spring your tech said I needed a whole new HVAC system because of a cracked heat exchanger. So we did, with a different company because yours never followed up with us. The price was also very high. I found the customer service to be lacking, and at times rude. To be honest, I'm not sure we needed a whole new system, but it was 25years old so it was probably time anyway. We knew our a/c was not as good as it once was. This company bought out J&M Schwarz, which we liked. I don't trust Reimer. I would not recommend this company. read more

Typically, when I write reviews, I compare the pros and cons, but in this case, I have nothing but high praise for this company. On Christmas Eve, I called several other companies to fix a broken pipe in my basement, but no one was available. I reached out to Reimer around 2:45 PM, and despite the holiday, they came to my home before 6:00 PM. The technician delivered fast, efficient service and resolved my issue in just 15-20 minutes. One of my biggest concerns was the cost--especially on Christmas Eve and as a brand-new customer--but Reimer's pricing was completely fair and in line with market rates. They didn't overcharge me, and they only sold me exactly what I needed, completing the job with exceptional efficiency. Luis San Innocencio was my technician, and he was outstanding. He was not only friendly and professional but also flexible, as I was away from home. He communicated clearly and was able to provide top-quality service, even through a virtual setting. My elderly mom in her 80s was out of water. I called for an after hours emergency call to restore her water. I called little after 7 pm. Got a call from tech about 9ish, saying he wasn't going to be out tonight as by time he got here would be after 10 pm. Then asked what the problem was with the water heater...not sure how he got incorrect information that it was a water heater problem when I had stated she had no running or working water. I explained to him the switch had burnt out...he realized it was a 20/40 pressure switch, and said he didn't have one on the truck anyway. So it would be the next day someone would be out. (WHY THEY WOULDN'T HAVE SUCH A SMALL AND COMMON PART ON TRUCK IS BAFFLING). I waited till about noon Sunday the next day and called tech back and asked when someone was coming because my elderly mom needed water, he said she was on schedule for 3 pm. AT AFTER 9 PM A TECH SHOWED UP WITHOUT THE PART. He said he was not made aware of the issue, I explained the conversation I had with tech prior night and it should have been noted on account. He said it would be 10 am next day, him and boss apologized after he called and told him. But, she would be one of 1st appointments next day. I had to call and take day off work to be here....I woke in the morning to a missed call and voicemail from who seemed to be owner or manager saying it needed to be rescheduled AGAIN!!! My elderly mom in 80s went almost 2 days without water...they had no communication with each other as to the actual problem, show up without part, promise to be out next morning only to basically cancel saying reschedule. Needless to say, I didn't wait any longer for them to fix the problem. THEY HAD NO PROBLEM LETTING A SENIOR CITIZEN GO DAYS WITHOUT WATER, HAD NO COMMUNICATION WITH EACH OTHER OR NOTE ACCOUNT SO OTHERS WOULD KNOW PROBLEM ACTUALLY INSTEAD OF INCORRECT INFORMATION THEY HAD ABOUT WATER HEATER PROBLEM, NO ONE UPDATED OR NOTED ACCOUNT AS TO PART NEEDED. My first experience with Reimer, the new owners of J&M Schwarz, was on 9/15/25. Omar the Technician was on site to perform the annual service on my Combi Boiler. He called before arriving and was right on time. He was thorough, knowledgeable and professional. I was with him the entire service call. He explained exactly what he was doing with each step. He also took pictures of the outside and inside of the equipment as he serviced it. It was an educational experience for me. At the end of the appointment he sent me an email with each of the pictures attached. As a result, I have a great deal of confidence in Reimers ability to service my equipment and to keep it functioning properly. Their Membership Service Plan is fairly priced with additional benefits. If Omar is an example of Reimers employees, we are all in good hands. If you have never used their services, I would recommend that you try them. I believe you will be very satisfied. read more

I was given an estimate for $16000 for what wound up being a covered part under warranty. The part cost me $486 worth of labor to put in. I would not ask them to come into my home and give me another estimate for any work that I needed to have done. They knew I was a single mother and yet took advantage of me. read more

Unfortunately, I no longer would give all star plumbing a 5 star review. I'm not even sure what star rating I would give the business. We have had a clogged drain for months now. A few months ago we called All Star for a drain cleaning. (Hoping they would resolve the issue ASAP) Nate did not attend the visit but he sent some of his guys out to our house. Basically they did nothing but charged us hundreds of dollars (much more than others have) and the issue still remained. We have since called 2 + more plumbers out, who all said the initial snaking of the drains by All Star plumbing was useless. All Star chose to detach our toilet to gain access to our pipes but then realized their snake could not drain properly from that angle. They charged us over $200 to "remove the toilet" that did not need to be removed. The guys even said to us "we couldn't find anything that caused the clog". The clog has only gotten worse over the last few months and we were told a snake only puts a hole in the clog and does not actually remove it from the drain. Our plumbing has become a headache for us over these past few months and it's upsetting when we go back and see who actually wanted to help us and who didn't care. read more

Roughly two months ago I contacted Reimer (formerly known as All-Star) for an emergency issue with my hot water tank. They responded that day and scheduled the replacement promptly. Two weeks after we discovered a leaking exhaust pipe from the unit, and they returned that day to repair it. Between the two visits, I had 4 employees from this company in my house - Jared, Justin, Adam, and Yuvindra between 1 -18 July 2024. Not long after the visits we had gone down to the basement liquor closet and discovered several bottles gone, one that can only be acquired overseas, most top-end liquors. We promptly called Reimer and eventually talked to Nathan, the supervisor. His reaction was what we had hoped for, disappointment and disgust with the situation. He had asked if we had evidence, unfortunately, we did not have camera evidence, we know no one has been in that location since their departure and date of notification of the loss. I do know I have items with their fingerprints on them because they relocated some of the liquor so as not to display the vacant bottles. Nathan advised us without evidence, he could not fire anyone for this action. After a lengthy conversation, Nathan agreed to replace the stolen items. He forwarded emails showing the items that were ordered. He was also pleading for us not to submit a bad review because it would reflect badly on their business. Unfortunately, he wasn't smart enough to realize that the emails of the orders he forwarded to us had tracking links. We received 1 of the bottles. Just yesterday we checked on the last order and discovered it was cancelled. So not only did this company that background checks their employees take the opportunity to remove items from my home without permission, but the supervisor also deceived us by pretending he was going to replace the items. I also want to add, that two of the employees who were working together on the installation had a lengthy conversation about the name brand of the items missing. I was eating my lunch when I overheard it and even approached one of them asking if they liked it and he said yes because he gets drunk quickly from it. When we hire someone to come into our homes, we trust that their integrity is intact, this was not the case. They violated my space and now our ability to feel comfortable with letting others come into our home for work we hired and paid them to accomplish. This is REPULSIVE AND EXTREMELY NOT ACCEPTABLE. My rating on them is a Minus 100%, do not let this company send people to your home when they will not hold them accountable for wrongdoings. I would LOVE to hear from the actual owner of this company for their input! We had a separate incident recently with water, contacted Crisafulli and the team was pleasant, informative, and trusted. Very responsive when we had a moderate leaking tub faucet that we felt we needed to shut off main water service valve also hammering pipes when water was on in the house. We signed up to become ' members'. They inspected all plumbing and made a couple of inspections for recommended work which we will do soon. Membership insures prompt service 24/7/365 with a 1/2 price service call. Work is by the job not by the hour. Peace of mind having a plumbing service available if/when needed. Called 2 other plumbing services the day our tub faucet wouldn't shut off. One said a week to get here one never returned the call. read more

The reason for this 1 star rating is for the pricing that was charged. We live in a rural area in Schenectady County, have our own drilled well for our water supply for the house. Recently we had a fitting that experienced a blowout (in the cellar) and had to shut off the pump to the well, which meant there was no water for the whole house. We just installed a new hot water boiler in the fall of 2021, and wasn't sure if this would cause a problem. I googled plumbers in Schenectady, and All Star Plumbing had a 5 star rating, read the reviews, one of them stated that All Star was "Reasonable and fair and definitely honest" so I contacted them. I gave them the information of the problem, sent them a picture of the problem, and was told that there would be a 89.00 "Service Call Fee" The technician arrived at the specified time, reviewed the situation and advised me that the repair would be over $500.00 + tax. I asked why so much, the technician said they are now charging a "flat fee" for this type of repair. Unfortunately I did agree and wanted the repair to be completed. The technician reviewed the situation and didn't have the correct part with him, and had to leave to get the part. While this isn't a big issue, it was a bit annoying since I did send them a picture of the piece that needed to be replaced. The technician returned with 3 brass pieces, and proceeded to make the repair. It ends up the 2 of the pieces (adapters) wasn't used, and only the 1 elbow was replaced. I then gave the technician a check for $569.16, and waited to receive the email receipt. The breakdown of the receipt is: Service Call Fee - 89.00 Repair well pipe in basement - 438.00 Tax - 42.16 I then contacted the office for a better explanation of the charges, and was told that there was a 1 year warranty of the repair that was performed, the technician that performed the fix has over 40 years of experience. I was told that if I wanted to review the charges with Nathan (the owner) that we would call me later in the day, as he was in the field on a service call. I did not receive any call. I had to call the office again the next morning, and was able to speak with Nathan. We reviewed the same information as noted before in this review, and that I felt that the pricing was exorbitant and was told that my perspective I should be that grateful that they were able to come out, on time to fix the problem in order to protect the investment on the new boiler, that this is how all the other plumbers in the area are performing this type of repair. That they have parts available for the repair. Told him that the technician did not have the part, even after sending them a picture of what was needed. He mentioned that I had buyer's remorse, of which I guess I do. I then told Nathan that I would never use their services again, and would call someone else, and ask more questions before ever agreeing to something like this. The reasons why I find this price to be so far out of line are: Total time from when the technician arrived to when the check was made out was 2.5 hours, which includes when the technician had to leave to get the correct parts. I have called other technicians to the house for repairs that charge $ 115.00 for the service call, however, I would get at least 1 hour of labor out of that fee. I could have declined price that was quoted, but still be responsible to pay All Star the 89.00 service call fee. If I was to call someone else, would have to pay that fee again to the new business. The 1 piece that was replaced, had prices for 30.00 to 50.00 that was available at some of the local big box home improvement stores. Unionized master plumbers make between $25 to $85 per hour. The total minus the tax is $527.00....... divide that my 2.5 hours.............it comes up to $210.80 per hour. I had a person tell me before that you can have any of these three things: Good, Fast and Cheap..... this experience proves that. As I told Nathan, this is our first and last time of using All Star Plumbing, will never recommend them to anyone, and have learned a very valuable and expensive lesson! read more

The main drain line going out of our house clogged and was backing up on Saturday afternoon. I had a call back within 15 minutes of leaving a message with their answering service and had a plumber at my house about 2 hours after that. The plumber was very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. After assessing the situation, he opted not to go through the main clean-out access point and opted to remove a connection higher up in the drain line, preventing our basement from getting flooded with sewage. He was able to clear the blockage of roots in about an hour and everything is functioning normally again. The service was more than I expected and I will definitely call them any time I need a plumber in the future. read more

Called All Star Plumbing a couple of days ago for a pretty extensive plumbing emergency (both bathrooms out of commission), and Nate picked up on the first ring! He sent Ryan over within a couple of hours, and he performed a thorough assessment of the issue before explaining our options and his recommendation. The job was completed same day, for a fair price, and Ryan was careful to wear a mask and gloves and practice safe social distancing. I was in real mess and worried I wouldn't get service on a late Friday afternoon. But, he said no problem and was here in about an hour. Be careful. I had Allstar come in for the second time to work at my home. The first time Ryan charged me $150 for two valves that cost him less then $10. That was just the parts. When I complained I was rightfully given a credit. So I had him back to look at a Macerating toilet in my basement. After a couple of hours, he determined that it needed to be replaced and HIT ME WITH A COST OF $1786.09 for just the macerating pump (no toilet) and $414.49 to install it. I could get it all over the internet with a quick search, including Amazon for only$750. The labor is two simple pipes, less then an hour labor. So in summary, he wanted to charge me $2200.58 for a job I was able to have done for less then $900 including labor. I only post this, because if they are out there gouging people, like he tried to do with me, be careful if you're not willing to investigate or if your mother or grandmother need help with plumbing. This is the type of gouging that gypsies do. read more

Our hot water heater went out and even though we tend to do DIY plumbing repairs whenever possible, we just didn't have the time to mess with it. As a Saratoga/ Schenectady county plumbing service, All Star had lots of great reviews and I can see why. I called Nathan in the morning and he was there on a Friday afternoon to assess the issue.
