I called with a main line issue. Apex came , made and left mess in bathroom, damaging door. They did Clean-out mainline with power snake. Issue re-occurred couple days later, and they came back under warranty, (N0-charge 2nd visit)and re-snake the line. Line remained clear for few days and then clog occurred once again. They came third time (charging me for another visit) re-snaked mainline and remained clear 2-3 days. Each visit, I was asking what is the cause, the technician was essentially uncertain but assured me was ok, at conclusion of each visit. No camera placed in line to diagnose. (They Said they didn't have with them- and if did have/use, would be several hundred dollar extra charge). When issue re-occurred for fourth time within 10 days, I finally wised-up and contacted another plumbing firm, who came out that same day, diagnosed issue (used camera) and cleared blockage that same day and performed needed repair the following day, digging and replacing trap in line. In nutshell, if all you need is snake job, Apex is capable to do this However, when I needed correct issue diagnosis and repair, they were of no help. Actually, They compounded the problem and home damage from excessive main line backups by not diagnosing and correcting the issue. read more

We had a major plumbing issue, involving a heavily blocked sewer line. Ray was fantastic, and so incredibly hard working. Even though it took two days and several trips to get the equipment he needed (first a snake, then the water blaster), he kept at it till the clog was finally removed. We also had Matt and Adam Porcaro, whose parents own the business, here as well. Ray suggested a maintenance plan, which I am definitely going to sign up for. Our situation was not an "emergency," but when the wife expresses her concern several times within a week about a drip spot from the sewer main increasing from dime size to quarter size over the last year or so, there is only one solution. A search on Yelp did not provide much help. Companies were either not rated or not local. So I picked the closest one, in spite of the one negative review written 2 years ago on an identically named business. (NOTE: this business is actually named Apex Sewer & Drain Cleaning Inc.) On the positive side, a filtered review written 6 months ago is much closer to my own experience. The call for service was nicely handled, the woman asked me to describe my problem and when would be convenient for them to come. I replied either "that afternoon, tomorrow morning or the following day." She said they could send a serviceman tomorrow morning between 8:30 and 10 am. A little after 10 am on the appointment day, I received a phone call that the serviceman was running late because the appointment before mine had decided they wanted a new garbage disposal installed. A little after 11:30 am I received a call from the serviceman indicating his GPS informed him he would be arriving within 15 minutes. He did. The serviceman was professional, friendly and clean (at least for now). When he was unable to reuse, let alone unscrew, the existing cleanout plugs on the trap and sewer main, he told me the cost (about $45) to replace them. With my approval he then went about his job to cut them out. Looking inside the trap and main sewer line we saw the build up of 35 years of "grease" and 3 years of flushable cat litter. He advised me that "flushable" litter is not really flushable. Placing down a tarp and newspapers, he was careful to avoid any mess as he proceeded to clear the trap and 85 feet of the main line from the house out to the street. He cleaned up after his work and I was only left with airing out the house after the sewer line had been open for a good 2 hours during his work. Final cost before sales tax was $250 for his work and $50 for the 3 cleanout plugs. I was pleased with both the service and price and would not hesitate to recommend Apex to others. My receipt indicates I have a prorated guarantee for 30 "Days/Months" - they probably mean "Days." Thank you Kenny for a job well done. read more

My wife and I moved into a new home this past year and quickly noticed that the kitchen sink would drain slower than it probably should. In addition, whenever we ran a load of wash, the sink would fill up and again take its time going down. Within the past week the problem had exacerbated itself with water backing up in the sink and refusing to drain. I knew this day was coming and was dreading it, but I was forced to call a plumber. I did some googling and found Apex. The reviews seemed decent, they were nearby, and they were open on Weekends, which is helpful because my issue was on a Saturday. They had a ton of calls on the day I contacted them but they were still able to come by even at 7:30 at night. Got a call from Richard with a good 45 minute notice. He arrived promptly on time and was extremely courteous. I explained the issue I'd been having and he pulled out the heavy duty snake and started feeding it into the drain line. Within 15 minutes he was able to pull back the line and free an extraordinary amount of black goopy buildup in addition to a cloth that must have been there from the previous owners. Needless to say, that did the trick. We ran some hot water to flush the drain and got that sweet looking whirlpool as the water went down swiftly and cleanly. I even ran the washing machine to see if I'd get backup from that and got nothing. I'm over the moon. Richard was terrific and the price was very reasonable. Thanks to my potty training 2 year old who flushed a whole roll of toilet paper, his dirty underwear and a few other things; our sewer backed up on a Saturday evening this Memorial Day weekend. I am freaked out excited!! I called Apex Sewer & Drain around 3:00 today. They picked up the phone immediately, which shocked me! The administrator who answered was so nice! Very professional, but so nice! She was upfront and didn't try to hide and costs. She said she could send someone on an emergency appointment... They don't charge for service calls, unlike literally everyplace else!!! She gave me an estimate, but said someone could come straight away. I said: send him! 20 minutes later I had the best service provider ever! Kind, understanding, didn't rush. Let me ask questions. He was more than professional, he was polite! If I could give zero stars for this review, I certainly would. We scheduled time for Apex to examine the home sewer system with a camera as part of our inspection prior to buying a home. Not only did they not explain that the time given was a "window," and not an appointment, but were rude and abrasive when I called to find out when the plumber would arrive. I was promised at that point that the plumber, or a dispatcher, would call me back very soon, to advise when the plumber would arrive. The "time window" was from 3 PM to 5 PM. At 4:50 PM, I called the company and was told that the plumber was running late, and would not showing up today, at all. Unbelievably horrible service and attitude. Our sewer line was 40 years old and had humongous root ball in it that was blocking 2/3 of pipe! Apex came tried to clear it and then used camera to locate it upon check of entire length of 52ft. Apex worked on a friend's, neighbors drain back in late 2017 or early 2018 in downtown Albany. They made quite the mess, not resetting pavers in sidewalk and back-filling the excavation with the large broken concrete slabs that had been the sidewalk and a wet slurry of soaked clay and dirt, They never tamped and then the concrete they poured on top immediately sank a couple of inches causing an unsafe sidewalk in front of my friends house. The worst part of this fiasco though, has just been identified as my friend's plumbing started backing up some time ago after his rental apartment became occupied and an attempt to snake the sewer pipe led to clay coming back on the cutter head. This in turn led to a "quality professional company" re-excavating the sidewalk in order to repair my friends drain pipes. The results were astounding as It was clear to see that Apex had removed a part the 6" clay sewer and also the 6" 'Y' connecting both property's sewer pipes (my friends and the neighbors) where they met approximately 8 feet out under the sidewalk Apex then reconnected just my friend's neighbors soil pipe to the main sewer via the remaining 6" clay pipe and simply left my friends pipe to discharge into the dirt with no way of getting into the main sewer whatsoever. Sump pump not pumping out water fast enough and was getting to point it was coming out on the floor. We called this morning and due to heavy rain last night they were busy but said they would be here by the afternoon. We had the water under control with a portable pump we dropped in and pumped out w/ a hose. Kenny showed up and I explained our concern was the pipes may have been clogged w/ iron ochre. That was exactly the issue, he jetted the lines from the sewer drain to the house and cleaned the pipes and everything was working great after that! After calling Crulisafulli 1.5 years ago about these concerns, they gave us a quote to change out everything (sump pump, our backup sump pump, jetting lines & all new pipes for over $3000). We decided against it and installed our own new pump. APEX was a little over $300 to jet the lines and clean the pipes...never will call anyone other than APEX! So happy with their service, highly recommended and they didn't try to sell us items we didn't need! read more

I had APEX come over twice to fix my toilet clog. $405 later and my toilets are not fixed. The problem has nothing to do with the toilets. The problem is my vent pipe is not putting enough pressure on the flush. Apex knew they would not solve the problem but they took my money anyway. read more

A friend recommended Apex, so I got a 2nd opinion from them (I just got a bad vibe from the first guy that came). They came snaked out the pipe. $275 done. I don't remember the guy I spoke with on the phone but they were very nice and helpful and I recommend them. These guys did a spot dig and repair on my sewer line. As part of the job they stated they would fix the area of the driveway they had to dig up as part of the job "within the week". Its now three weeks, and I can't get anyone to finish the job. I needed help and Apex delivered! I went over the Yelp reviews of plumbing services near me. Apex had a number of reviews and they felt like they were written by people like me. So I called in the afternoon and although they said they could get someone to me later that day I chose the next day when they could give me the two hour time window I wanted. They promised to call a half hour before arriving...& they did that along with arriving in the two hour time window they promised. I'm always a little uncomfortable with repairmen- don't know if it's because I'm usually alone when they arrive- or because I'm dreading how big the repair might be. Regardless,two repairmen arrived fromApex and both instantly made me feel comfortable. One asked me questions about the problem and then explained what they would do. They did some checking on traps and exterior connections to the house. It turned out that I had a blocked sewer line near where it connected to the house. After using their "magic" rotating blade snake...which destroyed a ball of tree roots...I had a working toilet again! It took them about an hour. They checked to make sure that everything was working -not just the one toilet. They explained what I should do If more problems developed. My total cost was$270.- money well spent! I'm not one to review companies for better or for worse on Yelp or other review sites, however I my most recent experience with Apex Plumbing merited a review. On Saturday, February 6 our upstairs shower stopped draining and on Sunday, February 7 the main 4 inch sewer pipe somehow became blocked resulting in water pouring out of our downstairs toilet as the washing machine was running. So, we're in a situation on Superbowl Sunday wherein we literally cannot even flush a toilet as it would cause a flood in the basement. My wife and two sons were 5 minutes away from getting a hotel room for the night. I called my uncle who is a contractor who said he always uses Apex when he needs a plumber for jobs he's on. Total Hail Mary, I called and spoke to a very cordial and helpful answering service who took my information and said someone would get back to me. Within minutes a representative from Apex called me back. I explained to him the problem and he said he could come over between 4pm and 6pm. At my wits end I agreed knowing I had no other options. Kenny showed up at 5pm after he called ahead to make sure we were still at the house. I again explained the problem to him as we went into the basement. He assessed the situation quickly and explained we would have to remove a section of the pipe since the clean out was almost completely inaccessible. He removed the section explaining what he was doing the entire time. I helped him remove the washing machine from the laundry room so he could fit an enormous 100ft drain cleaning machine. He snaked the entire length of the coil into the drain pipe all the while taking calls about other jobs that were being added to his docket for when he was done at our house. It turned out to be roots in the pipe along with general buildup which Kenny was able to remedy in about 30 minutes. After getting the drain cleaning machine back to his van and moving the washing machine back, Kenny unclogged out upstairs shower in about 15 seconds with a Rothenberger drain cleaner. Turned out to be rust and sand in the pipes. He wrote us up an invoice and we paid quickly so he could get on his way. We tried to offer him something to eat for the road, but he respectfully declined. We have had very little experience with plumbers since we purchased our home 20 years ago, but I can say that Kenny was extremely competent, thorough, respectful and conversational during his time at our home. It turns out that he was even friends with some of my cousins. Small world. Bottom line is that we are thankful for Kenny's hard work and ability to solve our problem with efficiency and expediency. He is an excellent representative of Apex and should be commended for his professionalism and talents. read more

Luckily, someone recommended Apex which saved us thousands of dollars. They treat you like family and do a great job. One visit and our clogged/cracked sewer line was repaired. ONE WORD: THIEVES!! I would NOT RECOMMEND this company to come clean your sewer line at all!! I had a clogged line and called them and asked for them to bring the camera to see what was trapped in my main line. They didn't bring the camera, but brought a snake to try and snake it. They said there was a ton of dirt, so it looked like a collapsed line. The next day they brought the camera, but couldn't see anything because there was water in the line. So they said they would come the next day with a big custom jet truck...they assured me that if there was anything in the lines (roots, dirt, etc) this would "blast it out". Well this big amazing truck couldn't get through it. So they stuck a camera in again and couldn't see anything because it was clogged, but ended up putting a flag on my front lawn where the clog was. So we decided to do the work ourselves (my father in law is a master plumber - just hasn't done service plumbing in 20 years, so he doesn't have the camera or power snake anylonger). Well we dug up where the flag was and found nothing in the pipe there, but snaked and found a clog about 6 feet away. Turns out that the clog was roots growing through a joint in the original pipe. We cut them out and replaced the pipe. If Apex did their job the right way I wouldn't have had to dig up my entire front yard for nothing!! MORAL OF THE STORY: UNLESS YOU HAVE A MINOR CLOG OR ARE LOOKING TO THROW $600 DOWN THE DRAIN FOR NO SOLUTION THEN DO NOT CALL APEX!! HORRIBLE!! read more

Apex has come to my home for plumbing problems on weekends, at no extra charge. They are always prompt, clean, friendly and straight forward. I never feel like they are trying to sell me things or services I don't need. They explain everything so I can understand and understand what needs to be done. We recently dealt with Rob who came to fix a clog in our mainline - he was here on Saturday AND first thing Sunday morning to handle it in the best way possible. Additionally, he recommended some work to be done to prevent and help this from being an issue in the future. Anthony showed up with an excavator that Wednesday and his work was fantastic. Even though he had to work directly over our landscaping, he moved the plants, and replaced them and made everything look like nothing ever happened. He made sure our grass was protected and the front of my house, where the work was completed, still looks beautiful. Both technicians always called me by name, greeted me and my husband, and kept us up to date on their progress, all of which I really appreciated. I cannot say enough good about this company and I will be calling them and using them for any plumbing issues we encounter and additionally ongoing maintenance, and recommend them with no reservations. read more
