Low quality workmanship, it's like watching a circus catch on fire when these guys are on the job.

We are preparing to sell out home and I had a home inspection done prior to listing and the inspector took one look at the Sylvania electrical panel and flipped his lid. I was given Charlie McCarty's name from a construction contractor friend and called. He answered and scheduled to meet me at my home the next day. He not surveyed the electrical panel, but inspected each and every outlet in the house. He agreed with everything the home inspector stated in his assessment, and even added a few things that needed to be addressed before St Louis County sent someone for an Occupancy permit inspection. Charlie's computer died the night before his visit, but it did not stop him from meeting me at the agreed upon appointment time. He kept in touch with me as he got his system restored. He sent a crew to the house to handle all the work required after getting the necessary work permits. The proposal was fair (far less than I imagined) and the work was handled in swift fashion. there were a few minor things that got missed, but were corrected with just one phone call. I am not one to gush over people doing their job, but when a small business owner stands up to the job he bids, then stands behind the workmanship and takes full responsibility, I feel I need to let everyone know.

On April 22, 2022, Don Kentch of AMF Electric recommended that I purchase Reolink security cameras…read morefor my home. Unfortunately, my experience with AMF has not been pleasant, professional, courteous or honest. I trusted Don's advice and ordered 6 Reolink cameras for $700 as he stated he has the same cameras and AMF had installed them. Don sent Chris to my home to install the cameras in August, who wasn't sure how to set them up. He called Don who sent two more workers, Jim and a younger guy. The younger worker set up a camera at my entrance, however, he failed to cover the interior electric outlet with the proper plate, 16 months later it remains uncovered. The 3 workers only set up 4/6 cameras and placed the NVR with the mouse under my bed where it was difficult to access and wasn't hooked up to the screen that I had purchased to view the cameras. They connected the NVR to my TV, which forced me to have to switch between my TV inputs to view my property. I found out later from Reolink, that it was necessary for the NVR to be connected to my modem to view the cameras on the app; AMF didn't do this and it was obvious that AMF was not trained or equipped to do the job. I paid AMF $2k for the day trusting that AMF would return to complete the job properly. Almost immediately after the workers left, 2/4 cameras began failing, Don suggested I move my bed to check if the wires going into the NVR had somehow been disconnected. However, they simply weren't working. Don sent another worker to come and fix the problems and we spent a lot of time emailing Reolink. After a 2nd day of having workers in my house and having to put all my other tasks to the side, the cameras were still not working. Don blamed the issues on the NVR and the cameras he suggested I purchase. I spent a lot of time emailing with Reolink to fix the problem because Don could not give me a straight answer. I passed the information along to Don from Reolink to resolve the issue. Don sent Jim back, who failed to resolve the issue again. I told Jim what we had agreed to, and that their initial work of placing the NVR under my bed was unacceptable, I would have to move my bed every time I wanted to rewind the video and could only watch on my bedroom TV instead of the separate monitor. Jim gave me two choices: #1 Splice the wires and run an extension from the NVR under my bed to the modem, or #2 purchase a device for hundreds of dollars that would allow the NVR to connect to the modem. This was unacceptable because the NVR would still be under the bed, and I would have to spend more money on a product Jim did not seem competent with. I wasn't able to access the cameras on my cell phone when away from home and the cameras themselves kept going on and off. I was the one who had to email Reolink to exchange the products. Don wouldn't take responsibility and blamed Reolink, who were much more helpful, and I paid to ship replacements. Finally, Don sent Jim back to my house with another worker who moved the NVR next to the modem, and attached it to the screen I had purchased but the job was not complete because the screen was left on a chair in my hallway, not mounted to a wall as agreed. The cameras once again began to fluctuate with the replaced NVR. I went into my basement and found they had spliced the wires together and left them hanging with wood shavings from the holes they drilled on the floor. I contacted Don who for the first time took responsibility and agreed the shavings on the floor were unacceptable, even though his workers left trash in my yard after the first day they were paid to install the cameras. I suffered much stress and anguish communicating with Reolink due to their HQ's being in China, however, they were much more professional than AMF. Don put the blame on the company that he recommended, when all along it was the failure and incompetence of his company that was causing me such trouble. AMF did not properly install the cameras, failed to put the plate cover on the front camera switch, failed to properly install the timer for the flood lights, and left an open socket in one of the light fixtures in my garage that should have been installed. AMF continued to bill me for their incompetence! For every mistake they made, I was expected to pay. I called Don alerting him that I was going to contact the BBB, write a review on Yelp and possibly file a lawsuit. Don came to my home, reviewed the situation, and continued to not take any responsibility. He informed me it would take him another day to fix it. He then sent me another bill, which just caused me more anguish. I contacted Don about the continued billing for incomplete work, and he blamed his billing department.I requested a refund for the work not being complete or done properly a week ago with no response. It has been 16 months since I paid AMF for this job and I have failing cameras, a monitor sitting in my hallway, wires hanging in my basement, and open electrical sockets.
