Dr Trishman, new dermatologist with the practice - Welcome! Dr Trishman has joined the practice and he is fantastic. I have recurring skin cancer and it ranges from a full on MOHS melanoma removal to a tiny scab that won't heal which just needs a liquid nitrogen burn. The little ones are always embarrassing as it seems trivial, but when you are dealing with an invasive cancer you have to get it treat asap. I had a tiny little black itchy scab on my inner ear that wouldn't heal, so small it looked like a blackhead, but I knew it was cancer. Dr Trishman was lovely, very friendly with a great manner, knew it was a cancer straight away and explained the process to burn it off (don't worry it doesn't hurt, just feels cold). He had obviously read my chart previously as he was knowledgeable about my previous treatments and he was reassuring when I mentioned I was embarrassed it was such a small issue. He was gentle and calm and everything you want in a skin doctor. I'm so glad he has joined the practice. Both Dr Reisenauer and Dr Trishman will take great care of you. Always, always runs behind with appointments. 55 minutes in waiting room then 35 more in an exam room. Dr. R "doesn't do skin tag removal, treatment of clogged oil glands or removal of skin barnacles". If she can't freeze it off, too bad. Limited appointments and then they call to reschedule as she is taking time off. Left the practice and fly to Oahu where my new dermatologist is beyond the best dermatologist in all of Hawaii. When sitting in the waiting room for Dr R, (up to an hour), the staff sounds pretty pathetic making excuses for 'Dr. R'. She is not at all special. Enough. Done. Transferred my records to a real Dermatologist. Oh ...then my exam was interrupted as she had to sign checks for the Maui Humane Society...and then I had to hear how they had to many dogs and cats and nobody wanted to do adoptions...sad, sad. Hello?? I truly don't care about the dogs and cats...look at my body and skin. Dr R is truly not focused on patient care at all. Best is that so many share my/our opinion. read more

There is not a better Derm on the island PERIOD. Yes, it takes a bit to get a new patient appointment BUT being her client will be the most advantageous choice you will make living here just 20degrees above the Equator. It was her 'gut feeling' in a routine body scan to biopsy an ordinary, symmetrical 4mm brown mole because of a tiny (0.8mm) red spot. That dot was a blood vessel feeding a nascent melanoma that was already in mitosis!! We went to Queen's in Honolulu and Dr Shane Morita did the clear edge surgery and removed the nearby sentinel lymph node; he was thrilled to tell us the node was negative. If you are searching for the best Dermotologist in Maui, Reisenauer Dermatology is it. I am from Scottsdale and go to the Mayo Clinic for my dermatological exams. Since I have sensible skin, I go in annually for a full body check. While here in Maui for 7 weeks, I noticed a small growth on my neck. Being concerned about the growth and after looking at reviews, I made an appointment with Reisenauer Dermatology. First, I was really happy with the Covid protocols. I felt absolutely safe! My appointment was with Dr.Amy Reisenauer. After examination, Dr. Reisenauer stated the growth on my neck was not bad, non cancerous and could easily be frozen off. Dr. Reisenauer then asked if I also wanted a full body exam - and I absolutely agreed. Upon examination, she found a concerning area near my right ear. She recommended a biopsy which came back in a few days positive for basil cell carcinoma. I then learned that Dr. Reisenauer's office schedules excellent dermatological surgeons into her office twice monthly for procedures involving her patients. I had Mohs surgery today at this office and couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Amy Reisenauer has an absolutely incredible practice which is so thorough, forward thinking and has the best outcomes. Since I will be in Maui at least 4 months a year, Reisenauer Dermotology is where I will be having all of my dermatological exams. read more

I was giving Reisenauer clinic 3 chances before I write any review. Few weeks ago it was my 3rd visit in the clinic and I am not happy with treatment at all. It started around 6 months ago when I had scheduled my first visit with miss Esther.I had acne and some scars that I wanted to get rid of. Following her recommendations, we did a very strong peel. My skin reacted horribly, it looked terrible and new acne just started to appear all over my face. I was unhappy, angry and unsatisfied with the final effects. I called the office and I informed them that I am totally unhappy with the final results so I went to see Esther and she just told me 'take it easy with your skin, just use the gentle cleanser'. Again, I followed her instructions but skin was getting worse and worse, so we scheduled appointment with dr Brewer. First of all, the doctor seemed to be in rush, I did not feel that she cared much about my problem. I really did not like it. She assumed that the antibiotic Doxycyline will help me, so I was taking it for 3 months. My skin improved a little but again, I was expecting something more after 3 months of taking strong antibiotics. The moment I stopped taking them, acne came back. I went to the clinic for the 3rd time, very unhappy and with hope that this time the doctor will help me.Again, she seemed to be in rush so the visit lasted for about 10 minutes. Dr Brewe prescribed me Spironolactone saying that I can take it as long as I want, because it's safe but there will be a big chance acne will come back the moment I stop taking it!!! I am going to the doctor looking for ways to get rid of acne NOT to take pills till the end of my life. She also said that she can prescribe me Accutane. It is a very strong medicine that the doctor should inform the patient about all the negative side effects before recommending it to a person. I doubt dr Brewer can help you with your skin problems. I am unhappy with current result of my treatment. Skin does not improve and I am becoming more and more frustrated. I DO NOT recommend dr Brewer(although she is a nice person) because I do not believe she has enough knowledge to treat people's skin.My recommendation: try to care more about your patients, ask them to do blood test first before prescribing anything stronger, do NOT show them that you are in rush. I will not come back to the clinic again and I will not recommend anyone to go there. If you care about your skin, do not waste money on their treatments. read more
