Received a gift card for Christmas and decided today was the day. I phoned and booked appointment with male therapist. "DJ" was efficient, professional and applied deep tissue therapy rather well. He did a cool technique I had never experienced where he climbed on table and while I was face down, clasped my hands and pulled me a third of way up to give a deep stretch. He repeated this three times and it was wonderful! DJ also worked on my glutes and the deep tissue was enough to release the tight muscles. So many "spas" are afraid to work on glutes so I was grateful and felt so much better (once the pressure let up!) Although he didn't work on my chest, the overall massage was a great value ($1 a minute for 60.) While DJ wasn't fluent in English, he was in his techniques and for that reason, we'll be back. read more

I recently paid my 4th visit to RC. Previous visits had been great - very relaxing and a great value. This last visit was like a completely different place. The massage room we were placed in stank of cigarette smoke! (AWFUL). The receptionist assured me it was nonsmoking (obvioulsy) but somewhere else SOMEONE in the facility had absolutely been smoking and it permeated through the air. She did not offer to move us to a different room although I am guessing it might not have been any different. (This smell was not apparent at the front desk or in the restroom, however). It was awful to be getting a foot massage smelling stale smoke throughout. It didn't even smell like they had tried using any kind of aroma to mask it, just stale tobacco smoke (which caused me to spend the entire hour crafting this review in my head vs. relaxing!). Upon sitting down I wanted to adjust my chair to a more upright position, but was told it was broken. If memory serves, these chairs actually are not adjustable vs being 'broken' but who knows. Most of the staff speaks very limited English (I have no problem with that). They did give me pillows which did allow me to sit more comfortably. The musak was awful through almost all of the hour -- primarily crappy Liberace type piano music vs soothing new age or something similar. But worst of all, my 'reflexology' experience was basically a less than mediocre foot rub. The guy wore gloves throughout (awful) and used tons of lotion. I could barely feel anything vs. the typical 'hurts so good' experiences from every foot massage I've ever had here and elsewhere. All of this is completely different from my previous visits,so I hope others visiting have better luck. However, no way am I going back when there are several other options throughout town -- 3 of which I've tried in the past and were great -- just a longer drive. read more

Self-care step 1: Get a massage! Enter Relax Center. I have a love for any place that accepts walk-ins. I don't have time to make appointments and when I do I hate rushing so thinking about getting to this place already makes me relax! The prices are very affordable and they took no time at all getting me comfortable. I first opted for a foot massage which was pure heaven. They cover you with a comfy blanket and wash your feet first. Then the massage begins. It's a great combination of rubbing, reflexology and stretching. It was heaven! Next up was a full body massage which was similar in style to the foot massage. Hot stones were also included. It was truly the best massage I've had in awhile. My only complaint was that the massage room was cold. They definitely could use a heater in there but overall, I was a happy camper. Lastly, the price was perfect. Today was my 2nd time frequenting this establishment. This business advertised a Yelp special "$20 off for 2 people 1 hour combo." I made an appointment over the phone, received the combo massage along with a friend, but when it came time to pay, the manager and owner attempted to tell me they would not honor their coupon as advertised. In fact, they went as far to say it was only for Wednesday, though the coupon did NOT have Wednesday-only stipulation, nor for any day of the week for that matter. They stated they have signs all in the center stating the Wednesday 2 for $80 combo; how are these 2 coupons interrelated?! They are 2 separate coupons as far as I know. I was going to book a 2 hour appointment for 3 people for a week from today, but now, I have 2nd thoughts about coming back at all after much contention from the manager and owner. In the end, they finally honored the coupon, but never once apologized and made me feel their false advertisement was my fault! read more

Pricing is very good. Relaxing environment. They have a couple smaller group rooms 4-6 chairs each rather than large common rooms. Seems to keep down the in/out traffic and other noises. I really appreciate that unlike some other places they give you the full 30 min massage. Some places (I stopped going there because of it) deduct the time they set up, get the hot soaking water, get your tea from your actual massage which drove me NUTS. The massages a pretty good. Parking can be a tad annoying but that just means you may need to circle around and park in back (parking free). I keep going back because it is a nice and relaxing experience. read more

Though I'm familiar with many beauty treatments, this was my second massage ever! The ladies at the front desk were super sweet and helpful. They told me I could start with Swedish and switch to deep tissue if I wanted more pressure. The interior is very clean, calming, and the perfect "mood" for a massage. I was asked if I wanted a male or female masseuse and I replied whoever is the best. Key really was the best. I did end up switching to deep tissue and really enjoyed myself. Key explained everything as we went along and asked if I was comfortable with lotion on my face. The massage was great head to toe and the products they use at Relax did not bother my sensitive skin a bit. I stumbled upon this gem last week when I was just looking for a quick massage on a whim, which isn't the easiest thing to do . I'm currently in love with this place. The massages are inexpensive and I love the fact that you don't need an appointment . Just tonight I decided at 8 pm that I was tense and wanted a quick massage before bed and they welcomed me right on in. Yes I will admit the more pricer massage places have the quiet room, robes, lockers, and refreshments that this place does lack, however why do you think those places are so much pricer. My first time I got an 1 hour Swedish body massage for $60 here and it was fantastic . Same quality massage that I just spend $130 on at one of those smancy fancy places last month so that I could have the robes and refreshments. OMG....deep tissue stimulation! Same Day Appointment made over phone (not required) was done with ease. The check in was super quick. Now to the good part....we scheduled a couples deep tissue massage during the evening hours & boy were we pleasantly surprised. We each had our own masseuse while enjoying our relaxation in a beautiful private room. We rarely get massages so this was quite a treat. Special attention was given to each and every kink and knot. My boyfriend and I tried this massage place yesterday we got a deep tissue couples massage. I would say the place is very nice but i guess it was a little to much pressure on my back. My boyfriend an I are pretty much hurting in the same places. It was like the female therapist that was on me was pretty much training the other m therapist that was doing my boyfriend. They was using the same techniques so but are body's are aching. I have had massages other places and never hurt this bad. The therapist I'm sure are not seasoned!! read more

W.O.W !! This spa just became my second home! After reading all the amazing reviews I made my way here one day a couple of weeks ago as a walk in. I had been treating my back and neck pain with a chiropractor since February and it's haven't been helping much at all and most of other massage spas I have been to don't really deliver the type of pressure and pin point attention all my stubborn knots needs to be worthy of my monetary investment. When I found out through the reviews that this spa is ran by traditional Chinese folks I knew this place is going to be legit! Upon arrival, I didn't think much of the exterior as it is sitting on a standard shopping center. When I opened the door, it took me by a surprise because it felt like I walked through a good vibe portal! Lol! I love the modern and Zenful approach of the interior design and I was greeted immediately by two friendly receptionists! They guided me through choosing the type of massage that is best fit for my condition and paired me up with Mark as my therapist for both foot reflexology and a 90 minute deep tissue neuropathway massage. Mark is so well knowledge in his profession and really know the different trigger and pressure points that treats my pain. His technique reminds me of acupressure therapy combining with his own twists! My muscles require a lot of pressure and Mark knew exactly how much pressure to apply to dissolve the knots without hurting me like most therapist I've had would. I have been a bi weekly returning client of Relax Center with Mark and I have been feeling SOOOO much better not just with my back but even my overall skin tone on my face. And the best of it all, they are running a seasonal promotion of 20% off 1 hour long massage and they have 2 for $50 deals on Tuesday! It's a killer deal! Yes! I'm spending a bit with these treatments but, our health is our biggest physical asset, instead of paying health insurance and going to the doctors when I'm sick, I invest in myself and my health through preventive holistic therapies like massages, Acupunture, healthy juices, and hell lot of adventures! This place has become a haven for me, literally in the heart of Brookhaven. I became a fan of reflexology while visiting my brother overseas in China. I then found a great place while living in Ansley Park. When I relocated to North Buckhead, I wound up giving Relax Center a try...Three years later I am a loyal client. I have done it all; foot massage, full body and cupping as well as smaller services like forearm massage or a quick shoulder massage. I am a hair stylist and work 10 hour days. I have found this place to be the upmost professional massage establishment in North Atlanta. I have read some of the negative reviews and the people just sound ignorant; This is NOT the St. Regis or Natural Body. They do have a slight language barrier...but these guys know what they are doing. The cupping is my favorite add on service. I don't know what I would do without the Relax Center in my backyard...I love this place!!!! read more

This was the absolute worst massage and booking experience I've ever had. It was impossible to communicate with any of the staff. I very specifically asked for a 30-minute head and neck only massage and my therapist was clearly not told as much, and went well beyond the 30-minute mark. Once the massage started, I reiterated my request for a head and neck massage, and he proceeded with a full body massage. I stopped and again reminded him that I only wanted a head and neck massage, but he continued massaging other areas. I asked for light pressure multiple times throughout the massage. He used so much pressure that I felt like I was being tortured, it was painful. He positioned my hands behind my back like I was being arrested and pushed them so far up that I felt like I was being slammed against a police car. He massaged bones rather than muscles much of the time and when he finally got to my head, he literally yanked and pulled my hair so hard it felt like he was trying to pull it out in one jerking motion. When he got to my neck, he pressed so hard on my esophagus that I was forced to cough. I didn't even know the esophagus was an area that was supposed to be massaged. The bottom line is, I don't think this person was certified. He was so forceful and most of the experience was painful despite requests for lighter pressure.I should have just walked out. To make matters worse, I was charged for a 60-minute massage when I clearly requested a 30-minute head and neck massage. I will never return! read more
