My sister-in-law referred me to Chris. She said that he was able to relieve her pain. She receives deep tissue massage and manipulation. She had been seeing him for about a year at the time. She said that he had changed her life. So, I decided to try Chris. I really wanted to find someone locally near the McKees Rocks/ Kennedy Township area. The office, bathroom, and massage rooms are clean. They are very punctual, friendly, and accommodating. I highly recommend Chris and his staff. He was very warm and inviting from the moment I arrived. Before my appointment, he took the time to review my intake forms and knew areas of concern and what I was looking for with my massage. We discussed my frequent running and tight legs, and he designed a massage specifically targeting my areas of concern. I left not feeling bruised or sore like other deep tissue massages I've had in the past. The manipulation was firm, but also involving limb movement to get into the fascia more deeply. I could tell he had great knowledge of muscles and their connectivity. I will 110% be back.

Green Spa came up as one of the only options that had same day availability so I figured I would give it a try. It is fairly easy to book online, but you can also call or walk in. One thing to note is that they have to locations in the mall. One on the lower level and one on the upper level. When you book, make sure that you note which location because I initially went to the one downstairs but needed to be at the one that was upstairs. (which was an interesting challenge because at the time, most of the escalators and elevators in the mall were out of service). There was some degree of a language barrier which made it a little difficult to communicate preferences, but they were able to ask about pressure of the massage and what areas you would like to focus on. If you are looking for a relaxing spa environment, this isn't it. You hear noise from the mall and some chatter from employees. It is also no frills in terms of waiting areas or decor. But if you want a massage without needing to make an appointment weeks in advance, this is a great option.

I found Serene Therapy, I looked at the building and the location and decided to call for an appointment. They were able to take me in that day. The building was very nice and looked reputable. I have driven past it many times over the years. When I arrived I was met by the therapist who gave me the massage. She asked me to pay upfront. Then took me back to the room. She had broken English and was hard to understand. The doors to the rooms had sheets hanging from them. They don't close the doors. She and I were the only 2 people in the business. Once she started the massage she was trying to tell me to take off my underwear. She said, "coo, Koo, Koo." Then she literally pulled off my underwear. I said "no'. She then pulled out her phone and spoke into the phone in Chinese and it transliterated it back to me, she said, "You keep off your underwear and next time we will have sex." I was very uncomfortable and I said to her to give me my underwear. I got dressed. She gave me a stamped business card and asked me for a tip, in English. I then left the business. I am 60 years old. I have had hundreds of massages in my lifetime. I have severe arthritis. I am against writing bad reviews but this is an exception. I don't understand how they can be in business. I was scared. I had never had a massage and my friend has them all the time and told me a massage would help my neck. I figured it would be worth the $30.00, as I could not even turn my head without pain. The place is in what used to be a home. The asian woman directed me into a room and i laid down on a Massage table with my face in the holder. She spent the next 30 minutes twisting, pinching, kneading and rubbing my neck and back. I was in pain the entire time. I thought it was normal for her to be rough, at times I had tears in my eyes. Near the end of our time she brought in a hot towel, so hot I think it burned me. I paid my $30.00 and left. Its 3 days later, my neck is fine, but my back is so tender and raw, I cannot put on a shirt without wincing.
