I went for a massage tonight which ended at 5:30 and I didn't leave the place till 6pm because it took 30 minutes to check me out. The front desk person couldn't figure out how my 9000 + points (which would equal to an hour of free hot stone massage) suddenly disappeared and I stood there as she tried to redo the whole transaction and I still left without it being fixed. Supposedly a manager will call me to fix it. We'll see about that. Also, I was given the runaround around canceling my membership and neither of the two people working at the front desk could give me a straight answer when I asked when the last payment would be. It sucks because this used to be a great place with great customer service, but sadly it has become horrible and all the good massage therapists are leaving. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

Also they could have made sure that when there are two places in one city to point this out when making a reservation so you're not late. Instead they charge you the 10mins you're late. I could see had I lived in the city, and this wasn't my first one maybe, but I don't live there.

I am a hair stylist so my arms and back tend to have a lot of pain, I have some carpal tunnel as well. I've gotten a lot of different massages over the years working in spas etc and it was a very relaxing experience but it would always temporarily heal my knots or pain ect. I do see a chiropractor so I know that this is a long term thing I have to fix but my experience with Erin at haw ridge has just completely blown Me away. Not only is she sweet as pie and made me so comfortable but she's extremely talented she made me feel very relaxed and comfortable during my massage and during consultation but the work that she did was not just relaxing but specialized and unlike my other times with massage. I had cupping done and myofascial release plus swedish massage. I left there feeling like butter, feeling amazing emotionally and physically and because of the specialized work that I had done my entire next week or two at work I did not feel the pain like I'm used too. I heard about Justin via Tippr deals, and booked an appointment to see him. It's impressive how…read morewell he runs his practice by himself and pays attention to detail. A couple days prior to my appointment, I received an email reminder from him, and a phone call reminder the day before. His practice is located in Suite 111 in a small professional plaza just off Main St. I had to call him in order to find it, but here are some tips for other new clients: once you park in the little lot and are facing the building, go towards the left by the stairs. Once you find Suite 111, enter the door and he's in the second room on the right. Justin is very professional and friendly. I filled out a brief history form and he asked if I wanted the full body massage or more focused on back/neck/shoulders. I opted for the latter since I know how tight those areas are for me. He started out more gentle, but I have pretty high tolerance to pain so I asked him to increase the pressure, which he did. It was still relaxing, but I could definitely feel where the tightness and knots were once he increase the pressure. There were some places I wasn't aware of before! :P At the end, he offered me water and we sat down for a friendly chat, and he gave me some tips for paying attention to my tight shoulders when using the computer. *checking right now...* I highly recommend seeing Justin for your massage therapy needs! I used a Tippr deal since I'm currently a poor and unemployed new grad, but regular massages are definitely going to be on my priority list soon. :)

My upper half was left uncovered throughout most of the massage (even when just my neck was being massaged). I had a manual lymphatic drainage after surgery and I've felt worse every day since the "massage". It was my understanding that MLD is soft touch but my practitioner pressed on my abdomen with what felt like her whole body weight. Just pushed- not massaged, not redirecting edema just big abdominal pushes. My swelling has not improved and my once very manageable pain has been significantly worse. I am not someone who writes negative reviews but felt the need to WARN THE PUBLIC. DO NOT GO HERE.

My best friend and I had a lovely time soaking at Shoji Retreat! This charming spa is in a forest…read moreoasis. They suggested we arrive 30 minutes prior to our scheduled soak. The day we went seemed to be short staffed, so things took longer than expected, but our experience overall was great. When they were ready for us, they guided us to the fitting rooms with showers. We were given shoes, robes, towels, and tote bags. There are no official lockers here, so you are welcome to take your tote with you into your private bath. The fitting room had everything you needed. When we were ready we had another long wait, but were invited to enjoy the sauna. They gave us refreshing mint iced washcloths for the sauna that I loved. They have a menu with a bunch of great add-ons, I decided to stick with the water, but my best friend got the coconut water. When our bath was ready, they showed us a map on how to get down to our soak. We walked down a beautiful hill path to our bath overlooking the forest. Even though we started late, they still gave us the full hour. The intercom system seems to be a bit older. There was an awkward moment where they tried to speak to us, but we couldn't hear them over the hot tub bubbles, when I went back to ask them what they said, they never replied. Besides that, we had a wonderful time. Be mindful that the drive up is a bit confusing, you'll want to do a mix of following their signs and your GPS. The experience is also a bit pricey for what it is, but I'm still glad I tried it with my best friend.

I do have to say though, that we were both a little surprised and disappointed in the amount of time that the foot soak/massage session lasted. On our confirmation email, stated that the session would last 2 hours and 30 minutes. Our session was by no means that long. The price of the Ashi Foot Soak was expensive, $175.00 is a lot of money for about an hour long session and to say that we were a bit let down is an understatement.
