I had contacted multiple businesses & was told either they couldn't accommodate my needs because it was complex, or it would be pricey. I ended up speaking with Caroline at Reliable Attorney Service. It was my first time filing in small claims court, and I was having trouble locating the defendant to serve papers. Caroline made this process much less frustrating and stressful. It was $85 to serve (Highland Park), plus $15 to e-file the Proof of Service. A skip tracing report was also included with the cost. I had to try a second address, which was $65 (WeHo). So my total was $165. The entire time, Caroline was an excellent and optimistic communicator, keeping me updated in real time via text/photo and email. We found the defendant within four days. I hope I never have to serve papers again, but if I do, I know who to contact. (One thing to be aware of if you're new to serving papers like I was -- you pay for three service attempts at ONE address, not three service attempts total.
