I know nothing about fireplaces, chimneys, and the upkeep of them. I never cared to use them as living in Phoenix, it really never gets cold enough. Instead, I liked to hang my Christmas stockings over them. The previous owners before me used it but I never did. But now that I'm selling my house, one of the repairs request was to have my fireplace and chimney cleaned with a spark arrestor (cap) installed. I found Tony and his company through trusty Yelp. Our initial communications up until the day of the appointment were friendly, informative, and response time if unable to answer right away was fairly fast. I finally committed to scheduling the service after receiving my signed contract from my buyer and we set the appointment for the next day at noon. Hubby has the day off of work and was going to oversee the job. I texted him at 12:20 to see if they were there yet... No, they weren't. I called Tony at 12:45 to ask what was going on. He was very apologetic and was going to send his son out as he was not able to come out in a reasonable time. Heaven knows I forgotten appointments before and been given breaks so I just let it go. But this definitely made the difference between 5 and 4 stars. Hubby texted me at 1:45 to let me know they're there. He texted again around 2:10 to let me know they're all done. I honestly didn't know how long the job was going to take and I was pleasantly surprised it went so fast. Tony gave me a sweep and cap deal and it saved me about $130 versus going with a competitor for the same service. I'm trying not spend any more than I have to on satisfying the repairs request and Tony and company came through. It was a job well done and I am very satisfied. read more

I tried (and tried) to schedule Reliable to sweep our gas fireplace chimney but they're either disorganized and lack follow up skills or they're so busy they don't need the business. I wish I could speak to their sweeping ability but unfortunately I'll never know about that because I'll pick another company that is more, well, RELIABLE. Tony of Reliable Chimney Sweep at 602-885-1240 just did my chimney for $99, his standard price. (By comparison, a friend who lives just south of Scottsdale Ranch paid $180 to have hers done.) Mine hadn't been done in 22 years and half of the hearth ended up filled with creosote even though I only use it a few times each winter. He is licensed and bonded and came within three days of my calling him. I originally got him off Yelp where he had a five star review. I can't recommend him strongly enough. His recommendation is that it should be done every time you have used the equivalent of two cords of wood. read more

Tony arrived on time, he was friendly and went right to work on our over due need of a chimney sweep. Tony is very professional, a man that knows his skill well, and explained what he was doing and the reason for the various tools he was using. Tony pointed out voids in our firebox and explained how we could fix them ourselves with fireplace mortar.
