I chose this DME provider because they were one of the only authorized providers in the area for Cubby Beds and had positive reviews--though now I question their authenticity. In August, I submitted all required documentation for my son's Cubby Bed, including a detailed letter of medical necessity and prescription for the full system (bed, canopy, mattress, and tech hub). My insurance approved everything quickly and without issue. However, the DME company submitted the order incorrectly as only ONE unit of durable medical equipment. When I called to clarify, I was told it should have been submitted as FOUR separate units. This forced me to go back to my insurance company to correct THEIR mistake, causing unnecessary delays and confusion. After finally getting approval corrected, the bed was delivered--but without the tech hub. When I followed up, I was then told (months later, on December 30) that the tech hub was actually a FIFTH unit that had never been submitted. Again, I had to contact my insurance company myself to fix their error. My insurance approved the additional unit immediately, but because it was approved on December 30 and the company was closed for New Year's, the order was delayed and the tech hub went on backorder. I was assured it would still be delivered and backdated. It is now April, and we still have not received the tech hub. To make matters worse, our insurance has since changed, meaning we will likely never receive it. This is not just an inconvenience--this is a serious safety issue. The tech hub includes monitoring features that are critical for my son, who has epilepsy. This equipment could literally help save his life during a nighttime seizure, and we are without it due to repeated errors and mismanagement by this company. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and repeated mistakes throughout this process are unacceptable. I strongly urge other families to choose a different DME provider. This has been an incredibly frustrating and concerning experience, and no family should have to fight this hard for medically necessary equipment.

Bottom…read moreline, I would not engage the Ann Arbor Home Instead location's services again, nor would I recommend them to others. Most importantly, they don't have systems in place to ensure that they are providing services. The contract was for 11pm - 7am coverage. One night no one showed at 11. At 11:30pm my father tried to call the 24-hour line, got an answering machine, and no one called back until 8:30 am. It turns out that the aide had overslept and didn't know what to do about it. The 24-hour line was supposedly down, which was why no one called back. If the goal is to provide consistent and reliable service, this was clearly a fail. Additionally, a new aide came by early for "introductions", and time was charged for that early, unscheduled, time, despite there being no indication of such a procedure in the contract, nor was an early arrival requested. On another day, the aide stayed a quarter hour late, not providing care, without having been asked to do so, or needed to do so, and the company charged for the extra time. Lastly, the company indicated that they would contact my parents' insurance as they had worked with the insurance company before and that the insurance company would pay them directly. Despite having a note in my parents' log that the insurance company was contacted, the insurance company had no record of such contact and indicated that they would never pay directly to the aide service. If you are looking for consistent and reliable nighttime care, this is not the place to find it.

An absolutely horrible sequence of caregivers for my disabled mom with early onset of Alzheimer's…read more The incredibly unqualified and inexperienced, 20-something "caregivers" took advantage of my mom's memory difficulties to not to any of the requested care, all the while marking off on their accountability sheets that they had provided the requested care. They sat on her couch scrolling their phones, lied about not having access to the laundry room, and the made her even more afraid to have them wash her hair than she was in the beginning. The office has not resolved my complaints and request for at least a partial refund in over 6 weeks. Visiting Angels basically stole from my mom, whose only income is social security, for the two months we tried to get them to provide the services they promised in the care plan we requested. Run, don't walk, away from their slick sales pitch. There is nothing compassionate nor caring behind Visiting Angels' facade.

They will leave aids stuck on 12 hour shifts and won't have anybody to relieve them off of their shift. I've seen my client go months without coverage or sending anyone for a meet and greet when the case was only covered half the week. I worked loyal to my client for three years full-time and I accidentally slept in until noon one day and they fired me leaving my client without any coverage. Called human resources and they wouldn't let me back on my case even though my client was begging for me back. I guess showing up on time for three years doesn't mean anything and no one can make a mistake. The very few "life care professionals" I've seen them bring in had absolutely no knowledge of what they were doing, but yet they get rid of someone who has been in the medical field for eight years that did all the dirty work. oh and by the way Cindy in the office has a huge attitude and very unprofessional. Don't work here unless you plan on being stuck over on 12 hour shifts and being treated very poorly. And definitely don't have your loved one get care from them because they will just make money off of the case and not provide proper care.
