Six months later, we contacted them again, explaining we were ready to move forward, but that we didn't know what style we wanted. Steve said he'd been thinking about our home and had a unique idea in mind. We worked with him to design the concept, and Steve was wonderful the entire time. He took the time to explain to us how everything would come together, and to walk us through all of the material and design choices. He was also so friendly to all of us, including my mother in law and young children. He even had our little ones make hand prints and write their names with the date at the bottom as the final step! After initially contacting them, they were onsite with in 24 hours to make an assessment. They followed up with an email estimate at a fair price by the end of the day. They scheduled the work to be completed within a week. Unfortunately, bad weather prevailed but they kept me up to date as to when the work would be completed. I was pleased with the end results which was a massive cleanup, cutback, clearing and removal. It was accomplished with a 6-man team. They worked in a no-nonsense professional manner. I was expecting it to take two days, but Two Brothers said that they could complete the work in less than 1 day and they did! Came home from work one day to find a large section of my retaining wall tumbled over into my…read moreneighbor's yard. The wall was originally built by the builder before we moved in mid 2004. The wall started to lean slightly within 5 years as it was not built with drainage in mind. This time around, I wanted the retaining wall build the right way. I called Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping to get an estimate because I prefer someone local and was pleased with their online reviews. Carlos arrived as scheduled to write up the estimate. He immediately suggested re-using the blocks since they seemed to be in decent condition and would save money. I met with another company the day prior and was originally planning on getting a 3rd estimate. After getting Carlos' very reasonable estimate and asking a few question regarding timeline, I approved the estimate and was ready to move forward. Just 3 days later, the work started and was finished just 4 days later with a Sunday and a rainy Monday that was a wash out. I was so pleased since this has been on my todo list for the last several years and relieved to have it done correctly. My neighbor was also pleased to get part of his yard back. I highly recommend Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping for any outdoor project. You won't be disappointed. We've been working with John and his team for years now. Our previous landscaper was horrible and…read morehad left us feeling burned, so I was wary trying a new landscaper. But the Kohut team instantly put us at ease, and have been fantastic. For starters, they're just a pleasure to work with. They're all friendly but unobtrusive. They're happy to work on their own without ever interacting with you, but they're quick to return a wave or a smile. They also work VERY hard. You are definitely getting value for your dollar here. Furthermore, I TRUST these folks. That previous landscaper I mentioned kept using increasingly-dodgy-looking workers that left us feeling a bit nervous. In sharp contrast, the Kohut workers all come across as intelligent, responsible, and respectable. And the results? In a word, beautiful. When we first moved into our house 15 years or so ago, the yard was a bit of a mess. Now it's among the best in the neighborhood. These guys are not just hard workers: they also have a great eye for layout and design and color. Even more importantly, instead of foisting their vision onto us, they have worked with us to find a design that fits in with OUR vision of how our home should work. In addition, we have some unusual requirements such as a certain attachment to existing flora and an aversion to toxic chemicals, that the Kohut team accepted without batting an eye, and then worked within those restrictions. While we use them primarily as landscapers, their talents extend far beyond that. For instance, we had some cracks forming in our concrete steps, which they repaired seamlessly. (I can't even remember where the cracks were; that's how seamlessly they fixed them.) I've also recently learned that they do snow-plowing as well, and we'll probably take them up on that for heavier snowfalls. I'm sure you could find cheaper landscapers, but I doubt you could find better, and I'm almost certain you won't find better value for the dollar. We've worked with Kohut and Son for years, and we plan to work with them for years to come.

We had polled a few local companies but there was a clear reason to choose Kohut. John not only resolved all the issues significantly better than any other option, but they completely revamped both the back and side yard with efficient, effective, and gorgeous landscaping and ingeniously designed a separate area for our dogs to play and use the bathroom without destroying the newly laid sod.
