I would rate Olde Town Roofing zero stars, but the option was not available. I entered into a…read moreroofing contract and gutter guard removal/replacement on October 23, 2024. They touted their reviews, gave paper guarantee about their work, ethics and quality. Work was 'completed' on 15 November, 2024. However, I had issues with shingles not laying flat, gutters not properly reattached to my home and garage and incomplete installation of new gutter guards. Olde Town did not follow manufacturer's recommendation to use two sheets of underlayment since I had planked sub-roof (rather than plywood) with space gaps larger than recommended for a smooth shingled surface. Gutters were leaking on both sides - against the structures and overflowing on the open side and loosely connected to my structures. I questioned if gutter would stay in tact if snow and ice damming occurred. In one case, the gutter did not have the new guard installed. Crews were not fully trained. NO QUALITY CONTROL/ASSURANCE was used by this company prior to declaring the project complete. New gutter guards were sloppily installed - they were not tight to the gutter, allowing debris and birds to enter. The many subsequent Olde Town Roofing remediation efforts were piecemeal and incomplete. It took prompting and and several pictures and follow up visits. Olde Town never notified the Moline Inspection Department to review their work; I had to engage the Department to validate that additional rework was needed. This project took almost a year. I say BUYER BEWARE if choosing Olde Town Roofing. I have documentation and pictures to support this review.

We have had a recent shower remodel, even though the material is good quality, I would not use them…read moreagain. After waiting the 2 days to use, I noticed we had little to no hot water. After waiting a week later we finally had someone return to adjust the hot water. The solution was to adjust my water heater, so now we scald ourselves everywhere in the house, except the shower. I will be calling in a trusted plumber to figure out what is wrong. The shower doors are still not adjusted correctly, was told the wall was out, but our previous doors fit properly. I am not sure how to post pictures, or I would post the damage made to the drywall after installation. I would not recommend paying in full until you were able to use the shower. Had I done this, I am sure that my issues would have resolved. As far as customer service, they do not call back, the salesmen were a day late, and the response time for issues is slow, or non-existent. For the most part, the installer was on time and courteous, I feel that we were mislead on several issues. Had I known our installer lived 180 miles away, I would not have used this company. I would figure a $11,000.00 shower remodel would have been better spent on a private contractor. Do yourselves a favor and get several quotes before signing. Glenda R. Silvis, Il

I answered an internet advertisement for a Kohler walk-in- whirl pool tub…read more A salesman came to my home and made a pitch to sell me a Kohler Walk-in-tub. At this point I assumed I was dealing with Kohler and signed a contract for installation of a walk-in tub I trusted the Kohler name and felt that their price would be in line and I would be treated fairly, (big mistake on my part)! I found later that the contract was with "Get-a-Pro" company of Moline IL, not Kohler. The total price for the tub and installation was $19,200 including a nonrefundable down payment of $3,840. There was nothing unusual requiring extra work to prepare the site for installation which could account for this price. I was told by the salesman that someone would call within five day to schedule the installation. This never happened. The salesman did not leave a copy of the contract, why? Was he afraid I would do diligence, make comparisons, and back out of this bad contract? I asked the salesman to email a copy to me. Installation was started 5/20/2019 and complete in two + days, not one day as advertised. No sub floor repair was required. Addition of an electrical sub panel was not required as called for in the contract. I didn't realize it didn't have "stand-up-two-hands-free" shower capabilities, which I really wanted. I assumed this would be a standard feature. To date no written warranty terms have been provided by Kohler or Get-a-Pro. What does lifetime warranty mean? Who's or what's lifetime? The installer broke off a chip in the fiberglass/acrylic bottom lip of the main top rail at the front left of the gap panel. He said someone from Kohler would be out to fix it shortly. I'm not holding my breath. I expected to pay top dollar for a Kohler Product but even at that, I think this cost was about twice the average.

Unfortunately the owners had shut down for a bit when I first called, due to a situation in the family. It took a couple of weeks for them to come back and reopen. Once they did I was able to contact them and arrange for them to pick the screen to repair the Sun damage screen. It took about a week. There was a mistake on the part of the Office Manager, as things had not got back to normal in the office yet and she was back up to speed. But hey. What do you expect. Coming back from any long break of work is hard and slow. It understandable. When I called her to see when they would expect to pick up the screen she apologized immediately. Explained what happened and said if the owner could not get it that day, she would. Of course it did help the my place was literally just about 3-4 blocks down from there their new location in Davenport. She got the screen and had it in for repair that day. It was back in two days. Instead of the week, if I had taken it to the hardware store to get fixed, plus the travel time back and forth. So, far I have saved on this screen ruffly $25 on having someone replacing the screen professionally for me. And $75 on 3 windows of all the windows they have replaced in our house. I highly recommend them for your next window replacement purchase. The lifetime screen replacement warranty if still offered is worth its weight in gold!

They had a migrant roofing crew install our roof. Both the house and the garage leaked and they had to redo both. They would not help us cover the house roof when it was raining. We had to go up on our roof and tarp it in the rain. They could not have cared any less about our problem they caused. They had a migrant crew install gutters. It took them 4 tries to get the garage gutter to drain and still failed. We located the problem and adjusted the grade to allow it to drain properly and did all the work ourselves. DO NOT believe anything on that slick fake website. Nothing they claim about customer service is true. They wrapped 2 windows and they had to be redone. Holy cow! The guy could not do the job and pounded on the metal window wrapping with a hammer and punch. It was a disaster but the worker told us that was as good as he could do. This same person was our alleged "project manager". He told my wife he had a sunburn and commenced to pull up his shirt to show her his burns. Holy Cow!! Due to his not being truthful many times and this action my wife told him to never step on our property ever again and we called advanced construction and informed them never have this person contact us. Just beyond inappropriate! We demanded that the windows be redone by someone who knew how to do this type of work. Throughout the process we were continually lied to about every aspect of the problem. They even installed siding backwards. How can that even happen? We have photos and video of everything I say. We are so done with these people. The work was started in the first of June and now it is the middle of October and we are fixing their mistakes ourselves. On a side note, they also install a roof on our neighbors house by a migrant roofing crew from somewhere down south. His roof also leaked and their gutter crew did the most outrageous install anyone has ever seen. They did not use corner pieces on the gutters, when a connection needed to be made they stuck a piece of downspout between the gutters. It leaked beyond belief as well as being the ugliest thing ever on the front of his house. Everyone took photos of this horrific mess and now these pics are all over this area and even overseas to show our international friends how gutters are installed in the US. We have lived in our home for 30 years and have made many upgrades and this company showed us all the ways a company can be incompetent, inappropriate and untruthful all at the same time. Caveat Emptor!!
