I'm having to replace about half of a cedar fence installed by Reliable after only 6 years. Posts were cut short and buried only 18", most with only 1 bag of concrete or less, only surrounding the post about halfway, so they came loose. Panels too close to the ground have rotted. Steel bars were hammered in next to some posts and bolted on, so that tells me these posts were too wobbly to support the fence right from the start. They should have dug them up and done it right. Even doing it right on 1/2 of the posts would have been enough to support the fence, but they cut corners on EVERY post. read more

The police had to be called since they had no staking of property lines. Reliable doesn't respect property lines of neighbors or do any due diligence before installing the fence. They rely on a their contract to have no accountability for important issues of property lines and permits. When I was shopping for a fence years ago, I didn't pick Reliable Fence since cheap fencing material. They broke the noise ordinance and worked 2 hours past the deadlines. Reliable Fence Management was not concerned about breaking the rules. Just as they were not concerned with ensuring property owner staked the property boundaries. Reliable Fence Management had no concern for their staff and sent them out to work in a storm with 20 to 50 mile hour winds with large trees near the installation area. Reliable Fence was reported to the department of labor for their unsafe work practices. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. Several days later I received a quote by US Mail from Reliable Fence of Woburn Mass... The quote was $2526, which seemed like a high price, as I received a quote from another Fence company for $2600, for the same amount of fence. If Reliable Fence stood behind their $20% discount, that would be $200 off each $1000, of which was not set in the quote. I expected to get a quote for $500 off the average price, which did NOT happen. Reliable Fence lost me as a customer because they were not fair with their quote. read more

I would stay away from Reliable Fence. They installed white vinyl fencing at my house in Watertown in 2022, however, they cut the vinyl boards too short for one 8 ft section and after a storm the boards blew out of that segment. They were reasonably priced but I was shocked they had cut corners like that. Massachusetts is an increasingly windy place, and Reliable did not install a fence that could handle that. read more

Pedro and his assistant did a great job fixing a problem with a vinyl rail fence that Reliable installed last year in front of my house. Over the winter one of the posts sunk about two inches which caused the rails attached to that post to grade downward, making them not level and out of sync with the rest of the fence. Pedro drilled out the concrete that the post was set in and then reset it with new concrete. He was also very careful not to disturb nearby plantings of daffodil bulbs just starting to bloom. This repair was done under the company's warranty program so there was no charge for the work. This company's customer service is super and I highly recommend them! read more

I hired Reliable The Fence People expecting professionalism, but what I got instead was a nightmare. The entire fence was put in the wrong location. The materials were sub par, the gate was broken, the fence was installed unevenly (at one 3 panel section there is a 8" gap between the bottom of the fence and the ground and their response is "thats the slope of your land". Okay, so you can step the fence, or run it with the land. Not install it with an 8" gap and then loosely back fill it with soil), pickets and posts were split and cracked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The initial salesman was great, came right out and agreed that it was unacceptable and they would get it fixed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then they sent out Dana Tagliamonte, who not thinking i was working from home and could hear everything he said, spoke negatively about us, the customers and thought he could "sell" us on it being an acceptable fence when it so clearly wasn't.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He was dishonest from the start--misrepresenting the contract and inventing excuses for why they installed it in the wrong location. Ok 3 year review. We gone back and forth a couple of times and it was ok'd. Install was ok, could have been better. Wife and I told them how we wanted the fence installed but installers also listened to our backyard neighbor so install wasn't correct, close enough but it still bothered us to no end. Things to definitely look for is when they install the gates. The wood post that support the gates need to be deep to be able to keep the gates level and true. This did not happen. Now I have to put up a bar across the top posts between the gate to keep the gates true and level and also able to close to lock. Bit of a pain. Over all, an ok install. After 3 years, fence still holding up, except with the gates. read more

Great for new customers. Really Bad if you require a repair or fix to their cheap installation. Had a new fence installed in fall of 2020 for $7400. By fall of 2021, two of the posts were coming loose and required re-seating. The company said the one-year warranty had run out (just a week prior!) so they needed to charge us $420 to reset the posts. Fine. By the Fall of 2023 the same two posts were failing again. We asked the company to come back out, and got ignored for 6 weeks while the office made excuses for why they hadn't responded to multiple calls and texts (per their direction). When they finally came out, the Operations Manager told us point blank that the repair crew did not do what they were supposed to and botched the repair job. Told me he would "talk to his boss" and they would "do the right thing" by which I assumed meant a free or significantly discounted repair of the posts I had already paid for twice by this point. But alas.... This company had the audacity to send me a $630 quote to fix it a third time!! We now have a different fence company in to dig out the posts, cement them in the right way and fix what "Reliable" was unable and unwilling to do themselves. For far less than $630, I might add. You can hire this company for a quick and cheap install but don't expect much by way of quality, customer service or reasonable satisfaction if anything needs fixing after the fact. read more

I had a fence installed December 2024 and I am very pleased with the results. The process from start to finish was very easy (thanks Bob K!). Bob came over to give an estimate and to talk about the process and fencing options. I had a lot of questions and Bob carefully answered every one and provide a few scenarios that best fit my budget. After receiving the estimate (which was less than I anticipated) it took about 2-3 weeks (to order supplies and schedule the install). Once the install date was scheduled, the fence was installed within a day. The installers were prompt, professional, courteous, and fast! They also did a great job cleaning up after and even wiped the entire fence clean. Since installed, a few neighbors have stopped over to complement the fence. One for 5,100 and one for 6,200. He was pleasant. 10/13 Was then told it would be an additional $1,800 (35%) higher due for "extra labor". We live in the city. The only way to access the yard in a row house is through the house. Ok fine. We need the fence replaced. 10/13 I said ok we accept this new price. I confirmed via email as that was how we were communicating. I did not hear back from Andrew. 10/18 I reached out again via email asking if this was a project they were interested in. They were able to get me a good estimate quickly, and then get the workers and fencing to complete the project. This is no mean feat right now. The fence they built for me is really beautiful. My neighbor next door came by specifically to compliment me on the fence. The workers were business-like and polite, and the work was done in good time. The fence was built really well, and I had very little work to do to fill in gaps along the bottom (a task with any wood fence if you have little dogs). Their response to my request for a quote was timely and professional (good); The quote came, stating what the price would be if we did both -- but not (as I had requested) a price for doing one job without the other. What I communicated with the salesman was not executed by the installers. A salesman showed up, wrote up a quote, I ask questions and he says just tell the foreman when he comes on install say. Then headquarters calls one day prior to install, won't listen to requested adjustments. On install day, crew and foreman show up and conveniently not one speaks English so they force install on bad plans. Now I'm stuck with a fence I have to adjust my landscaping to make it look right. Reliable was the cheapest of all bids and I shouldn't have listened to others, you get what you pay for. Going to have to spend more to have it corrected.
