Jeff searched high and low for a solution he knew that would work, not compromise the integrity of the diamonds, not change my setting too much, please me, etc. Jeff found a company out of New York that redesigned the top of my ring so that diamonds weren't loose, prongs weren't broken, and he could be sure it would work long term. Just so you know: The Brown County Antique Mall is actually three different buildings…read more The main one, which sits just off the road, is your typical antique store. It has all kinds of tchotchkes, doodads, baubles, trinkets and other old and unique miscellany. The store is separated into booths, and there are different things in each booth. I saw all kinds of things that I wanted, but I had to physically stop myself from buying some of the vintage milk glass mugs. No one needs a milk glass mug with a buffalo on it, but the heart wants what the heart wants, sometimes. If you leave the main building and walk outside, and then turn to the right, you will see the second building: Route 46 Vintage. This vintage store deserves its own review, so you can read my separate review for that. But I'll just say that this is where you'll find funky vintage clothing and accessories. Then, there's a little shed-looking building that has more antiques and fun stuff, and also handmade goods from local artisans. Basically, the Brown County Antique Mall is a little campus full of eclectic treasures. You can definitely spend an hour or so here (or more!) looking through all of the stuff and buying all the things.

I love costume jewelry and was able to find several pieces that I liked and I brought home. There were big outdoor items on the front porch when we walked up. The place is right on the highway and easy to get to with adequate parking. The prices in the booths varied greatly with some being very reasonable and some I thought were high but I think that is the same as most antique/vintage stores of this type. We had a lot of fun shopping there and when we checked out the cashier was nice and helpful and told us about a couple store policies that we asked about. They have some especially unique items if you are one who decorates for the holidays, have a special event coming up, or collect themed items. I have purchased gifts here in the past and the quality has been very good. Note 1: There are signs posted inside the shop (should be posted outside too) that you are not allowed to take photos in the shop. That doesn't make sense to me as the business is missing out on free advertising. And if someone does make a purchase, they will post it anyway. Note 2: I didn't talk with the staff but heard from two other people that this building is for sale and the shops are being told they need to vacate. The building isn't listed as part of the big auction at the end of Oct '19, so I am not sure if the rumors are true. How exciting to find this SUPER cute, out of the way shop that is a little off the beaten path in Nashville, IN. I had the hubs drop me off and I went in not knowing what to expect. All I can say is that anyone who knits or crochets HAS to visit this place. They have THE MOST amazing hand spun yarns and materials I have ever seen. This is no Red Heart - Super Saver kinda place. The Clay Purl is the real deal! Being one of a handful of folks in town allowed us some one-on-one time with the really nice lady working at The Clay Purl. She was so sweet to listen to anecdotes about inheriting all kinds of old skool acrylic materials from my crafty grandmother and had some really good ideas of where to donate materials that I would not personally use. Admittedly, it had been too long since I had picked up my own hooks and needles, and she sweetly encouraged me to do so. I plan to return once I have dusted off my hook and picked a project. These yarns are delicious.
