Recently there, I snagged a framed 10" x 12" Christmas card signed by President Johnson and his wife Lady Bird at a very very good price. I consider this card precious because President Johnson was, you know, the guy that enacted the Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, Medicare and Medicaid. A president that actually wanted to (and did!) improve the lives of all Americans. When you see manicured landscaping in interstate cloverleaves, that was Lady Bird Johnson's idea.

We loved Emporium so much because the place is huge and has all these small rooms with antique and vintage furniture/clothes/accessories/home goods/books/shoes/dishes and silverware etc. Such a huge section of high quality items all in one place. Prices appear to be mostly market for the items we looked at as well. Plan on spending 1-2 hours max going thru each area here and then there are plenty of great spots steps from here for coffee/lunch/dinner/dessert.

All 4 of my grandparents immigrated from Poland to Ellus Island in the early 1900s, so I felt a connection to them, particularly my mother's mother (whom we talked Babci).
